14, most on the time when I’m on the go I only need to do quick edits, and If I do need more I either use sidecar or or a portable external monitor if I know I’ll need the space.

16" as I don't find it large or heavy. Pair it with a nice quality tomtoc laptop backpack and it's great for travel. I've found that using multiple desktop workspaces in macOS versus a single large or multi monitor setup has improved the efficiency of my workflow. I group my programs as such: - Desktop 1: General purpose apps like iMessage, Slack, Spotify, Bitwarden, Remote Desktop - Desktop 2: Business workflow A for in house products - Desktop 3: Business workflow B for contract work - Desktop 4: Personal use for RU-vid, Netflix, etc.

I had a 14 inch for the past month and personally, coming from a 13 inch, the screen real estate has been sufficient for editing. I considered the 16 inch but I thought it was too big and heavy.

good call I had the 16inch MBP intel version and upgraded to the 14 inch and I love it so much better. the screen real estate is plenty and I always use an external monitor anyway.

@@sharkboy980 more than agree. I never used an external monitor myself so I can’t comment in that regard. But in my eyes, the screen real estate on the 14 inch is more than enough for professional editing. Of course, if people like the 16 inch, I more than respect that.

Thanks for the video! Finally received my 16 inch M1 Max 32gpu 32um 4tb two days ago. What a beast, it’s everything I hoped it would be and much much more. I’m absolutely happy that I went with the 16 inch over the 14.

16” lovers here. And you can forget the notch as it is invisible on it. Just like you I had the 14” Max for a month love it and all, but when the 16” came I was immediately 100 percent sure that I am returning the 14 “

Great video! I love my new 16-inch MacBook Pro, it feels like it was definitely worth the extra money when compared to the 14-inch. My previous MacBook was a 2013 model so I am hoping this one lasts me 8 years as well!

I have had the 13 inch MacBook before and it was great just a small screen. I upgraded to 16 inch cause I needed the bigger screen. Best choice ever

future proofing shouldn't really be a thing. just use the money save and update to a new machine. this is the OEMS just getting you on their marketing. all their margin is made on the upsells.

I mostly use the MacBook at home, connected to an external monitor. But when using it out, the 14 inch is a much better choice because of portability. The 16 inch makes no sense for me because it is a brick to carry around, AND, because at home it has a tiny screen compared to my 34 inch external monitor, which is the monitor I use 90% of the time. So, if one doesn't have a big external monitor i would recommend the 16 inch. Only in that case though.

Interesting point you made about reaching your destination and having the extra screen real estate. In my present use case, I find myself using my 13" MacBook Pro mostly in the train, where its smaller size comes in handy. In the train I will do some business administration, webdesign or photography projects. For video projects, I often tend to just wait when I'm home to start editing because there's my bigger 24" screen and a trouble-free environment. Do you find having a 16" outside of your home encourages you to finish creative work faster or dramatically improves your workflow? Do you feel there are times you can focus better on a 16" screen outdoors than on a 24" screen indoors? Happy to hear from you!

Good points! I feel like I am happy to get anything done even just on the laptop itself with the 16 size. I can’t say the same for the 14. Also the screen is so amazing on these, I want to use it

I had the 13.3” pro and it seemed ok so I think I would be fine with a 14” but I have always been curious about living with a 16”. Gotta finance one one of these days.

Great. This is one of the reasons I got a 16” M1 Max 64GB RAM machine. It’s great, I love the real estate. Sure, it’s an overkill currently. I keep my machines for 6 years and requirements expand fast over years. Future proofing is very important if you keep machines for over a couple of years.

What would you choose between the 14” with a 12.9” iPad as a second screen with sidecar OR 16” model by itself with no second screen? I’m going to be moving every few months for the next year and I’m trying gauge which option is best.

I’m waiting on my full spec 14 inch for Video editing and motion graphics. Why? I’ll be using sidecar + external monitor for more screen real estate if I need it and using the Apple Pencil to rotoscope and keyframe will be a game changer for my workflow

I actually had ordered the exact same spec as your 14’ and while I totally get your points, for me coming from a 2019 16’ that sounds like a jet, can’t last more than 2 hours just sitting on and unplugged, and just can’t handle my music production? I think the 14’ will be an easy fit

You had a video about the 14'' espousing the small size in a coffee shop and "power" of the 14''. you said connecting to a large screen makes the screen size inconsequential for you. Personally, i think you just got bored with the 14''. Wouldn't be surprised if you made a later video saying you missed the 14''.

I had the 14 inch M1 Max and returned it because i couldn’t get more than 3-4 hrs of battery no matter how small the workload was. I’m debating wether or not i should get the 16” m1 pro or Max instead?

I originally ordered the 14 inch Max, but then cancelled it and changed to 16 inch Max. The 16 inch for me is the winner easily. Better thermals/fan noise, better sound, obviously bigger screen, high power mode, and better battery life. I love my 16 inch best laptop i've ever owned

Another One! Points are on point. That's why we decided on the 16" M1 Max, 64gb Memory and 4TB SSD. We ain't bout that dongle life. haha We are just sitting back, waiting for it to arrive. The whole argument that the 16" is just too big, never sat with us. We're like, lift more weights so it doesn't feel heavier. haha Part of me regrets not going with 8TB. #FirstWorldProblems Question tho. Do you regret switching to Sony as these M1 MBPs make editing h.265 files so much smoother?

Haha heard that! Hit the weight room people. And as of now no, overheating and the ibis wobble were my biggest defining factors. And now with other things like low light, and no recording limit I don’t see myself going back. But never say never!

for future proofing I don't think 16Ram will be fine for 5years. it depends on users, but for creative workers, even now only my Photoshop sucks 10gRam. its fine now but later? Max can be really right future proofing option for photographer.

16 inch is a bit too large since I have to carry it with me every day on the back pack and have to work on the train ride. A 15 inch would have been really nice. I chose the 14 inch - yes it is a compromise between portability vs (screen realstate and battery life).

I just ordered my 16”. Why? Because I don’t care about portability, anything under 10 lbs would fit my backpack, and the new MBP will replace both my MacBook and my iMac 27”. And it will be my main computer, so the more screen space the better, I won’t use it with external display since I will mainly use it lay down on the bed… so 16” it is!

Got the 14" 24core M1 Max with 32GB of RAM. An hour after getting the 14" last month I ordered a maxed out 16" with 32core M1 MAX, 64GB of RAM and 512GB SSD (I edit everything from Samsung T7's). I just want the screen realestate, it's not that much harder to carry it around..

I bought the 14" m1 Pro, 16 GB/1TB. I took it back to the store today, and walked out with the 16/ 10-Core CPU /32-Core GPU/ 32GB/1 TB. It is a giant computer, but a solid build. My wallet isn't happy though.

For a guy who worked at the Apple store and reviews stuff on RU-vid. It’s surprising that he didn’t buy the 16 inch MacBook in the first place. He could’ve visit an Apple store to see it first hand or watch tons of RU-vid videos regarding this. It’s unbelievable.

Thanks for keeping it real and not talking like a girl, most men are complaining that the 16”computer is too heavy the screen is too wide, most guys cry about the weight and the size more than the women, guys go to gym and get some muscles your body will thank you.
