WHY I'M SELLING MY PORSCHE GT4 

Watching these British car RU-vidr’s buying their ‘dream’ car then selling it again in a few weeks is like watching paint dry. How much longer can they keep doing it? Having 10 + cars in their garage, all of which are funded by finance isn’t sustainable. All their social media is the same. Then you get the ones who every video is a sponsored one... most have wealthy families who no doubt support them. They make out they are living the dream, when really they have nothing to show for it... keep it real Luke... you don’t need flashy cars, your videos are in a totally different world to all the others, who struggle to edit good videos themselves. The days of buying supercars for views is past it sell by date... the ones who are still around in 2/3 years will be the ones who do something else more creative now....

A winter car for Luke - anything with an "RS" and a digit in the name.

I actually respect the fact that you aren’t a trust fund baby. I feel a deeper connection as neither am I. I’ve had to work for everything in my life so seeing others buying cars like they are packages of crisps doesn’t resonate with me like your channel does.

I genuinely appreciate the effort of getting those B roll shots inside the garage. That took extra time and was a cramped annoying space.

At the end of the day, regardless of what other people say, do whatever you feel is right - we'll be supporting you and your channel no matter what.

An Audi RS3 would be a perfect winter car. It sounds great, has all wheel drive, can be easily modified and is practical.

Noooooo! I understand why though. Personally I watch your videos for the cinemaphotography, the views, and the roads, and the gt4 is perfect for that. I’m not really into the RU-vidrs who change cars and pose kneeling and pointing with stupid looks on their faces for their thumbnails. Your videos are more professional than that. You just need a good car that is yours, and the ones you get for reviews add enough variation. That’s just me though, and you need to do what you think is right for your channel, and you definitely know better than I do! That said, I don’t know your budget, but an RS6 Avant would be my dream winter car, but it’s also expensive. Or a used E63 wagon. You could also go with a TT.

BTW, that is a great idea to use that foam on your garage wall to prevent paint chips on your car door. I have just been using my fingers as the bumper. Keep up the great work!

Whilst you're booked with press cars and travelling a lot, you might not use the GT4 and the market value decreases over that time. Looking forward for your next car and next video. The bloom sure came off the rose quickly on the 718 GT4 compared to the previous generation. All the compromises like particulate filters, cylinder deactivation, stop-start and a significant price bump make buying a pristine used 981 GT4 the smart play.

Feels like just yesterday you got it! Excited to see what’s next. Are the wing risers coming off or selling with the car? We could help get them sold.

Not sure if Porsche is the same but when your parked in a tight spot like your garage press and hold the door unlock button on the fob to drop the door windows. Makes it so much easier to get in with the window down. I have to do it with my R8 in my garage every time I get in or out of it. 👍🏻

Thanks for the update Luke, Glad that you are busy again. Answer, 964RS. You need to 993 C4 or 993 Turbo then Luke. 4 wheel drive for those difficult CH winter's, classic and plenty of fun usable power!

Hey Luke, Just got my 718 gt4 two days ago, found that 3m tape at the left wing support base portion was losing adhesive. I had dealership checked all other owners in the US, it seemed like all cars having the same issue. I wonder if you have noticed that issue or do you have or experience this issue? Thank you.

Hey Luke, Commiserations that your GT4 journey has come to an end. Appreciate the frankness of your explanation of the decision. I hope that the (pre exhaust filter) GT3 makes it into your garage soon as a suitable replacement.

Interesting to see those tiny car-locker garages that not seen in Canada. Love Luke's high quality videos though I might never invest so much money on a dream Porsche.

I’m sure that I make part of the minority, but personally would love seeing time going by your GT4. I understand that this sort of channels need to grab everyone’s attention, still it can be done by testing car brands or even loaners. Also appreciate your honesty and I’m glad that you have so many bookings ahead. If I was in your shoes I guess I’d try a Macan GTS. It’s perfect for everyday tasks and even more if you live in a harsh winter country. I did it and I’m loving it, despite my model being the diesel.

What I wanna know is how someone gets behind the wing like he does in the thumbnail. How do the get there and out without damaging something and/or pulling some awkward moves. 🤔

For your next tuner project car how about a Quattro Audi. Perhaps a B8 S4? The supercharger will compensate for the low atmospheric pressure. Golf R or Audi S3 could be fun too. Basically something all wheel drive and turbo or supercharged.

I've seen them many times. It's a lot of work to do something high quality. Besides filming, I also appreciate the information you provide. You bring something extra all the time. Sad to see the 718 GT4 go but would love to see something rare & usable on a daily basis even in the snow (so AWD basically). Something like a Tommi Makinen Mitsubishi Evo 6.5 RS (SAMMIT also just bought one) or maybe a Subaru WRX STI S-Series (S204, S205, S206, S207, etc). If we're going completely opposite from winter, a Honda S2000 (can be modified to Spoon Sports or J's Racing, etc).
