India is the New China: younger demographics and probably already a bigger population as China's figured are fudged. China has passed peak population and they estimate a halving by 2070 now! China is truly screwed; their economy has already stagnated. Within the decade China will be a basket case just like Japan only without reaching the middle income status. Indeed I expect negative growth and famine wiill come. Once or as the CCP works this out they will irrationally start a war over Taiwan and their population will starve as a result of the blockade. The CCP won't give up power without trying this first even though they know they will lose in the end but will take up to as many as 500 million expendable mainland Han slaves down with them! This is why I have a very low opinion of mainland Chinese and their culture: they are sheep who will march lockstep into the disaster the fascist CCP inevitably lead them into indeed even with an ignorant glee! That's not to say that India is perfect with its Nationalism and corruption too but the difference between a democracy however flawed and fascism is like chalk and cheese.

See bro I am from india, and i can see and hear your propaganda against china is very illogical and non-sense, india is going to be next "Sri lanka" because, in india education and healthcare is out of reach for india's middle-class and for India's poor. India is moving towards bankruptcy and indian government is selling every public assets to private sector, and i can see into your eyes you don't even care about india you want to just spread fake propaganda against china, because you western love to lecture 3rd world countries. China is a superpower and india is soon going to be bankrupt.

When I was in middle school I had a teacher that spoke of India in such a demeaning way. I took it to heart for so many years until I started to learn about how spiritual, outspoken, and truthful Indian people are. I learned about the many gods that they worship, the resilience of Indian culture throughout the ages, and how adaptive they are in every age of the world. Needless to say I fell in love with India after learning about it on my own. I have never been to India myself, but I truly want to go and travel ALL of India some day.

Indian people are great, culture is rich, and there sure are wonderful sights to behold, but actually living here is just bad for most. The new government (this may be a little biased, but bare with me) is quite literally trying to brainwash the Hindu majority (obv. to receive votes during elections) by demonizing the Muslim population, since like 2014. They have near total control over news media (TV, newspaper, internet doesn't matter because most people don't read news there) and pretty good financial backing. I think things are gonna get better though. Don't take this too seriously I literally went on a rant and now I don't wanna delete that because it took too much time and effort to type out

India has so many wonderful Buddhist holy places. India received the Dalai Lama and tens of thousands of Tibetans as refugees in 1959 although they were a poor country. China has been in grotesque denial about the destruction and usurpation of Tibet during the cultural revolution. I am a Buddhist and have spent a great deal of time in Dharamsala where the Dalai Lama still lives in exile. China may have wonderful people but Tibetan Buddhist teachings and culture survived in large part because of India

Honestly, pretending to make India better than it really is just a reaction to people "exoticising poverty" and taking tours in dangerous, messy areas while having no prior knowledge of how people behave and keeping themselves safe. Not only they put themselves in danger and create panic among locals and the government but they feed into a notion that poverty somehow adds authenticity to Indian culture; Indians who don't suffer from poverty must be corrupt or culturally impure. This creates a devastating effect onto global perception of Indian culture and makes India a harder country to relate to than it really is.

I'm an African and I have been watching how India behaves towards other "smaller" nations. India has been rendering CPR (cardio pulmonary resuscitation) to Sri Lanka (during it's economic crisis) - they have extended a line of credit that has lower rates of interest when compared to Chinese loans. India donated a large amount of grain to Afghanistan. India will help (if it can) even if there's no immediate payback from the recipient. China from what I can see is more "business like" ie less compassionate. China did great things in Africa in the past like the TANZAM railway, but this feeling of "brotherhood" seems to have faded from the Chinese government.

You can even notice this difference in Indians and Chinese abroad. Going to university in the UK I have never been approached by a Chinese student, any time I spoke to one it was either an assignment or I decided to first. Meanwhile Indian students would often start the conversation, whether it was small talk waiting for the bus or waiting for a lecture to start. Despite similar numbers(it was a compsci course so popular with both groups), the Chinese students would often form their own bubbles where they didn't speak to British students at all while Indians mixed in with everyone else. And this wasn't entirely a language issue since the Chinese students did speak decent English when they had to. Overall I have never met an Indian person I didn't get along with. Great country, wish them the best.

This is very true. Same for Mainlanders here in Canada. They don't trust anyone other than their own family and close knit friends. This is coming from a ABC. So it's not a race thing, but mostly likely a communist behavior. they are extremely selfish and worship money. An eg, our family invited a Mainland Chinese neighbor who just moved over for dinner. Not only they didn't show up, they didn't bother to even have the courtesy to say "sorry or thank you" (2 words Mainlanders never say). Another time we sent Xmas greeting cards to 3 neighbors. A white family, Hongkonger, the Mainlander family. The white family came over and said thank you. The Hongkonger gave us a nice bubbly champagne. The Mainlander? Nothing. Not even a thank you. or a nod when he saw us on the same day.

But India is a country with a space program, the world's largest democracy, about the 5th largest economy (real figures, not 'official' propaganda) and lots of good relationships with other nations. Respect.

When Australia push forward for corona virus investigation, china stop coal imports from aus. Aus ships were sitting in the bejing port for over a years but on the contrary India bought alot of coal from aus. Even aus find lot's of business from India to sell many stuff these past years. We are getting close with aus more and more and even though press might not report it, numbers do. So cheers up, we indians aren't looking to colonized or trample over any nation.

I’m an American who lived in India for 3 years. Before that I studied mandarin for a year at community college, went to a Chinese medicine school, and had tons of Chinese friends in America. The reason I made the switch from being a China fan to an India fan was due to some of the stuff you mentioned, especially after my first two visits to India. I love India, and I miss it dearly. I wanted to live there permanently but health issues, family issues, and Covid got in the way. India is very challenging and not for most westerners to live in, but visiting as a tourist is a good thing for most people I feel. If you are up for a challenge, it’ll open your eyes. I still hope to return and continue my plans there, but it’ll probably take a a year or two realistically. Fantastic video.

Islamic "Invaders" didn't loot India, they made it their Home, they came and they stayed unlike British people who were the actual plunderers and thieves, during Mughal Empire India contributed 1/4th towards global GDP, India wasn't brutalised by the Mughals, the amount of love Mughals had for India is unparalleled, at times they even let go of their Islamic values and customs to accept hindu culture as their own, marrying into hindu families etc. They built roads and monuments, Taj Mahal had rare and authentic gems embedded on it's walls and most of it was gone after British came and went, Calling Islamic rulers as plunderers and brutes is just deadly ignorance, go read a book my guy

The first time I came to India was 11 years ago as a language teacher. That first year - especially the work with all those bright young students, but of course also mundane interactions in everyday life or during travels - made me truly fall in love with the country and the people. I was truly sad when my year was up and I had to return home. However, 8 years ago I came back to marry the love of my life and have been living there ever since, and I have zero intentions to move away if I have a say in it. Does India have its problems? Of course, they are all very much loved by film and documentary makers alike, but nobody is more aware of them than Indians themselves. It is a big country with a HUGE population and in conclusion those problems are huge and without short term fixes too. But those problems are being discussed and efforts are made to tackle them, often at grass root level by small local ngos full of people who try to make something better one little step at a time. And that's just what I love about India. Indians are open and engaged. They are very much involved in driving change, on big as well as on small level. may it be the 60 year old aunty who decides to start a tiffin business out of her kitchen, or the 5 man little ngo that organizes music classes for kids in slums, or the ice cream shop owner who asks everyone if they have any old glasses for an old people's home he donates to, and I could write an essay about all such people I meet here regularly. And then there are all those ultra-bright people, not only young ones but even elderly. Only the other day I met a 70 year old man who just learned a new programming language. I was floored. People are open, people want to make a change, they want a better life - of course for themselves, but many many also have compassion to try and give a positive change to others - they want to learn, they are eager and open and curious to get to know you and possibly get some positive input from you, they think on the fly - Indian jugaad is something to be reckoned with in big and in small things - they adapt to the situations as they come, it's truly humbling. And finally, as a foreigner of another ethnicity I will forever be grateful at how welcome I've always felt here and at how easy it is to encounter and communicate with people on a human-to-human level. People you talk to are not just 'Indians' they could be your aunty, or your uncle, or your little brother or sister, or your big brother or sister, you connect to people that way and despite all the harshness that is undoubtedly often there due to the economic and communal situation, there is also so so much open and warm humanity. After almost 10 years living in India I have full faith that India will continue to advance to a better future, one step at a time, no matter how long it will take. It sometimes may feel like no progress is made, but if you look at how India was left behind by the British just after 1947 (you just need to read V.S. Naipaul's bitter early work to get an idea), India has advanced lightyears, and that after being basically sucked dry by foreign occupiers for centuries before that. I'll always be grateful to this country for welcoming me in. Jai Hind!
