If you'd like to support the channel you can do that here - ko-fi.com/markbooth I can also be contacted here if you fancy a chat - markboothmodular@gmail.com The thing is so versatile, it's an absolute beast!
You are up there with loopop and the likes. Love the format and the bangers you get. And patch from scratch is favourite of mine. This track is pure filth.
Nice one Rod, I don’t plan videos they just come to me as ideas from what I’m experimenting with and then I’m like, hold on get the camera out and record this now! Wish I had the audience of loopop but maybe things will grow with time. I really enjoy sharing stuff back to our community to help inspire people, not just shill gear.
@@markbooth nice one Mark. It's a good plan. Your videos seem well put together, hitting the big numbers will just take time I think. It's a hard job with so many good musicians out there. But give it time I'm sure you will build a big channel. You have definitely inspired me to go full modular. I will be getting a Niftykeyz very soon and starting my own channel. Though it will take time to fill.
@@rodnee2340 I’d have loved a Niftykeyz if available when I started out. A keyboard with lots of mults is a great addition to a beginning modular set up I feel. It’s a money pit, but there is something about hands patching everything yourself that inspires. Enjoy your journey and feel free to ask questions etc if I can help I will
@@markbooth thanks Mark I'm already in that pit lol with a Moog grandmother and subH. But I definitely don't have regrets about that. I'm mostly into software like UHe and Serum on my little laptop. But hardware is the direction I'm going. It's just more fun. And the sound I'm getting is definitely not anything I could do with a computer. Thanks again Mark.
Excellent patch showcasing the BIA 's extraordinary wealth of Sounds! I was just experimenting with the BIA yesterday and every time I use that amazing module, new patterns/sounds jump out that I haven't heard before. As for your wonderful videos and creative Soundscapes, please continue ! Personally I enjoy your long videos.🎶🎛👏🏽🔥❗
Thanks and I’ll definitely continue with the longer format patch from scratch if you enjoy them, even if they can end up a little unpredictable! I know what you mean about the sheer variety of sound the BIA can produce, it always gives you something new.
Thanks. The Algorithm isn’t keen on my channel yet although this latest video is doing twice as well as previous ones. I glad you appreciate it and feel free to provide critical feedback and suggestions.
I had both BIA and Carbon in my rack, but they were not together. Now they are. I thank you. BIA has finally come alive for me. And I bought a second Carbon...as you suggested. Best tiny filter by a mile. Was using the Korgasmotron, but two Carbons are smaller and better. I'll use the Korgasmotron as a double filter in crossfader mode now instead in my studio rig...as I should be I guess. I think it'll be the Manis and BIA, both through their own Carbon, and my Karplus bassline through the Triptych. The Manis Sawmod is kinda like a comb filter, so I don't want to waste the Triptych on it. You have really great demos man. Always great sounds and explanations.
Happy you’re finding them useful and always great to find inspiration from other peoples work! Personally, I find Manis loses its edge through a separate filter and it already has one built in anyway. I use the second C4RBN with Ataraxic and Loquelic, and also both on stereo voices which sounds good but, like you, my other main filter is SSF Stereo Dipole which I absolutely love for ever evolving sounds, a bit like your Korgasmotron but I get free built in attenuators too :) happy noodling!
@@paulhood1321 The four short green cables are the source from Mimetic Digitalis with 3 going to BIA and the 4th modulating the C4rbn filter frequency. Also if you look at slider 4 on the Lapsus OS, it has an extra modifier coming in from the Ochd lfo top left which is being attenuated with Quadratt at the top. This just adds a bit of unpredictability. Hope this helps.
Funny you should say that as there is a full song demo coming with exactly that although BIA is being used for effects this time and the A-111-6 doing baseline
I’ve been using other modules for simple baselines recently and forgotten just how good BIA is as one in the left most algorithm. Ataraxic is great but needs an envelope and vca
@@markbooth yeah man sounding sik. I’ve got MD and BIA. Clearly I need to explore them more. Altho I don’t have any attenuators and that looks key to a good result. So I’ll get a few and be trying this out. Very inspiring!
Lapsus OS. An attenuator / attenuvertor. Each channel has one input, two outputs, and also an input modifier. It pairs perfectly with Mimetic Digitalis next to it and sliders as much more playable than knobs.
@@Jin-Hu thanks, will see how it goes but not expecting to make much from it. I just love exploring different sounds and sharing them for everyone else to find their own inspiration from.
@@lenylecointre3304 voltage block is like a big Mimetic. I have both and use mimetic more as it fits in the small case. It can randomise across all octaves or just two bout I usually want somewhere in between. If you ahevt eh space and want more flexibility, get voltage block.
