Hello RU-vidrs! A special hello to my fellow Preloaders and V.I.Preloaders! For those of you that aren't PRELOADERS yet, click the following link to SUBSCRIBE to my channel and become one. / @bethebossofyourmotorc...

In this video, I once again discuss Exercise #4 (Right / Left Turns From A Stop). It's important to be able to make turns straight up. Your motorcycle isn't designed to be held up by your feet while it's moving.
You may be asking yourself, what are PRELOADERS?
PRELOADERS:
Subscribers to this channel who are dedicated to being proficient in slow speed motorcycle operation.
What does PRELOAD mean?
PRELOAD:
Engaging the throttle to raise the RPM’s (revolutions per minute) above idle and holding the throttle there, with the clutch pulled in (no power to the rear wheel, “in reserve” “PRELOADED”). This process will make power to the rear wheel available to the rider immediately when the clutch is opened up. There’s no need for the rider to be concerned with twisting the throttle for power because it’s already PRELOADED.

Robert it’s a pleasure watching your classes. I just wanted to tell you I’m a Lt. Colonel on the Memphis Police Department and those techniques you are teaching I was shown by our elite motorcycle officers. The guys have shown me those very same maneuvers. I find myself practicing at red lights and in everyday turn arounds. I have a 2021 RGS and a couple of days ago I may a quick u-turn and scraped my floorboards for the first time. I was laughing like a kid. I did it all the time on my 2017 M109 but that’s the first time on this RGS. Keep spreading the knowledge and hopefully it just may save someone’s life. Hats off to you sir👍🏾

I had never ridden a big bike before last summer and hadn’t ridden any bike for around 30 years before that. I bought a goldwing as my first big bike and I was terrified of it so I searched RU-vid for help and found quite a lot but yours stood out above the rest and I watched hour after hour of your videos and now feel comfortable and confident to use it anywhere, thanks (I still keep learning from your new stuff) 👍

Hi! That guy on the white Harley would experience way less problems in a tight upright turn if he stops puttin´his foot on the highway peg from the get-go. That puts him in a sub optimal body position. Maybe he´s got some medical condition to do it that way, but if not, he better get used to not doing that. Greetings from Berlin, Germany, a town where you get fucked up pretty fast without that skill you taught today. A country, where you wouldn´t get a bike license if you couldn´t complete that lesson on rollator speed! :) Keep it up, keep our buddies alive! Very good job. That right hand turn from a stop at an incline is tricky. Parking lot security came after me after I tried it 4 times on a Sunday. First time, I went over the yellow line. If there was a car there, I would have hit it. So, I did it until I got better. I’m only on a Grom, not like a Harley. I outran the security, though. I’m also an old lady. LT, I gotta tell you, I like the way you produced this episode the best! The way you used the vehicle overlay, as well as being on an actual street, with real dimensions made all the difference in the world. I know for safety reasons with students, it may not be feasible to have them on the road, BUT when you're filming you only, real life situations make the lessons POP...!!! IJS... Well done LT... (What you may have missed, with your man on the white HD, Mr Herky Jerky, he was riding with his left foot on his hwy peg while working the cones, he has no sense of balance, he ain't built for that yet...)

Robert, I love your videos man. I'll be watching alot of them over again as I just bought my first Harley. I had alot of the techniques down pretty good but this bike is about 200 lbs. heavier than my last one and I'm struggling some with the fairing and weight of the ultra limited. Took the luggage rack off but I have alot of practicing to do! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and I hope you'll make it over towards North Mississippi with your classes someday.

That makes all the time and effort that I put into this so worthwhile! Congratulations on your new Harley! Practicing will show you that those extra 200 lbs. mean nothing if you didn’t have any problems on your other motorcycle. You’ll see!👍🏾😁 Preload!!! And Keep It Loaded!!!! ©

I love the new intro LT! I haven’t been around as much lately. My bike has been in the shop since around 12/23.. the M8 sumping issue fried my temp sensor. Anyway .. it’s been in the low teens , and down into low single digits (F not Celsius).. add in snow. Chicago winter has been really bad this year It’s been hard to watch bike vids. I see ppl on their rides and I miss it so bad. If the ice could get off the roads and at least days whwre it’s like lows in upper 20s.. high in 30s.. I’ll be back out there. Man… I’m gonna be rusty when the spring comes where I can dig into the training again.. when it’s 29*.. better ride to work weather just go get a fix.. not so great for parking lot work… but out in the world .. i see all the exercises.. so ppl who say this doesn’t apply…. They are clueless

Nicely done, short intro, go to the point. I struggle with doing this maneuver straight up and would probably just go forward and let the bike fall catching it with the clutch as you have stated in other videos. Short story, need to practice it more. Thanks for the instruction. Youdaman!
@BeTheBossOfYourMotorcycle
@BeTheBossOfYourMotorcycle 2 года назад
Thanks Larry! It’s my pleasure. 😊 If you can do that, you basically already have this thing licked. When you start to let the bike fall, just catch it right away as you continue to move forward. That’s really all you’re doing to keep the bike straight up anyway. It’s just not an extreme catch. It’s a series of small catches. Does that make sense?😁👍🏾
@alanspence1716
@alanspence1716 2 года назад
@@BeTheBossOfYourMotorcycle I can do the small catches pretty well but every time the bike straightens up slightly and I don't make the turn. It's doing my head in!

Great video! I like to practice slow full lock turns without lean, but a lot of videos stress going at least 8-10mph anytime "low speed" stuff is taught and this particular skill is not mentioned as much. Good to know multiple techniques.

This is an obvious topic and skill that is grossly unknown, undiscussed, ignored, and flat out avoided by countless riders. It is frightening to think how many people say and believe they can ride but do so without learning and practicing these skills or even understanding how they transfer to real world riding as you have demonstrated here.

Excellent as always! Everything about this episode was good. Can you produce some more videos in the future using the low angles utilized in this one, showing you using the rear brake in the turns? Can't wait to make it down there one day. I watch these practically everyday.
@BeTheBossOfYourMotorcycle
@BeTheBossOfYourMotorcycle 2 года назад
Thank you very much! Believe it or not, the best way to see me using the rear brake is to look at my brake lights because I’ll always covering it with my foot and the applications are so slight, you may not see it by looking at my foot.
