Why Is My Ex Mean To Me?

They're mean because they regret leaving you. They are mean because they are mad at themselves for not being as happy post-breakup as anticipated. They take it out on you instead of taking it out on themselves.

If they're legitimately cruel, condescending, gaslighting- not just cold and distant after breaking up with you- it speaks to a person with deep emotional issues and damage. No one should enjoy hurting another person after they've already hurt them by leaving

The meanness that they show you is a reflection of themselves. Don't take it personal, move on and wait on God to bless you with the right person.

Sometimes as the dumpee you’ll make a mistake to hurt your ex intentionally or unintentionally. However, pay close attention to their reaction. Their reaction can say a lot about themselves.

I never thought this would happen because we only dated for a few months and had issues regarding culture and religion + my ex is more of the avoidant type, but well! I believe he was resentful and distanced himself through silence as he had traumatic upbringing. I feel punishment was part of it too. We do not speak or see each other at all.

I never lied, cheated or really did anything to cause this person’s anger. Their level of rage and disrespect I received was disproportionate

My ex of 7 years, screamed abuse at me everytime I tried to talk with her, she blamed the breakup on me and told me my face irritated her and she wanted to punch me in the face, someone was already in the background. I was always kind and supportive to her, after the breakup she went round telling people lies about me trying to make me sound like a bad person, she started seeing this guy straight away. I still cant understand her exteme anger and abuse towards me when I was so loving with her for 7 years, 4 weeks since the breakup now and Im still hurting.

I can't stress enough how important it was for you to explain to us what can stand behind some behaviors, the biology side or psychological side of things, you've helped me during my own break up for the past two years and it's been EXceptional!!! get the little joke i put there? 😋

My Ex wasn't mean to me, I was mean to him for breaking up with me the way he did and we had many. I did it all wrong for a whole year of breakup, said bad thing's blowing up his email.. rarely heard from him. I'm finally in NC..been a little over a month but it's only to move on and grow. I've learned it's ok to miss someone but it doesn't mean it's good to get back. Not waiting anymore! This one's real now and not a fake breakup..been a year.

I didn’t make any of the mistakes. In fact I respected and accepted the break up, went no contact, worked on myself, started to meditate, got my stuff out of our appartment- and SHE is mad at me all the time for no reason…WHY? It feels like she’s regretting everything and is mad that I’m living my own life again and move on… but she wanted this break up and me to move out. Now she’s a mean maniac! Not fair…

Ultimately you can only control yourself and it's not your responsibility to fix their reactions, it's always best to leave it focus on yourself and heal

I'm actually really happy now. I came to a point where I don't care if they are mean too me or nice too me anymore. One day I woke up and all my thoughts about him went away. I guess your videos really help. I don't even think about him that much now and I can hear his name without being depressed. I can listen to our songs without even thinking about him. I think in my situation, my ex is cruel because I kept reaching out and pestering her instead of giving her space and changing myself. I feel she won’t come back from my behavior.

If you were good and respectful.. They're mad because they break something and they have to show vulnerability to fix it. If you're not begging and pleading, it eats at them more and more, knowing they caused something that in the end will make them unhappy

My ex and I ended on what I thought were good terms…we both loved each other as people and had some laughs. Ofc he broke up with me for a reason. And in the beginning it was some arguing but in the end I thought we were good. But the next day he follows this girl on Instagram that had led to our break up in the first place because he followed her on tiktok and I asked about her and he got mad. So for him to follow her the next day after the breakup and her being the reason why we broke up in the first place is so messed up on his part. He’s heartless

Well he was mean and cold. So I was cruel with words. I don’t really regret calling him names but he kept being mean and never apologized nor took his part in the breakup. But I’m never contacting him again. He gave up when I needed him the most

My crush that l worked for, he was hot and cold and he was dating someone. I walked away then he turned around and said to me " too bad everything about you is bad, sorry" yet not 2 weeks ago he said he cares and wants to see me. I don't know if he said it to be mean or means it.

Day 36 of NC my ex reached out. Waited a short while, responded to her level and after several back and forth messages she disappeared. Back into NC I go. Must easier this time around. Doing the work and if she doesn't reach out again I am fine with that. Indifference is much better than anexity and breadcrumbs.

My ex left me an started sleeping with a guy from work after 2 weeks i asked her if that was true she lied to me an said it wasn't we all worked together i left my job to move on an told my boss the reason an that i couldn't deal with them two together. She went crazy calling me a liar that i am spreading rumours shes not sleeping together or anything despite me hearing them as she lives in staff accommodation an so did another member of staff. Yeah I dont want to hear about their bad behavior and all the excuses. They're not hurting. They either overlapped so they wouldn't have to feel the pain of the breakup and they just want to prance away with their merry little selves and not feel any pain or guilt. Btw Hes the one who keeps breaking no contact and suggesting I come over. The next morning he turns cruel the next day and makes it clear he has a date. I finally told him I longer love him and never contact me again. After hearing the most heart wrenching phrase I've ever heard. So starting week 2 no contact. I cant trust him.

I was nothing but good to my ex. Am I perfect? No. Could he communicate? No. So even if I did do something wrong, he never told me. He dumped me 3 times by text, came back twice, expressed regret the third time but after weeks of not talking, I phoned to check in with him and he was so cruel and mean and threatened to block my number if I called him again. I was shocked. Safe to say he's the one who's been blocked. I deserve better

Ex became cold even though she said she wants to be friends, assuming she wants me to not have much hope by speaking as normal to me. (Just 1-3 text/per day random). We were in an LDR. Should No Contact still be done when both are far? (2+ weeks into the breakup, I’m the dumpee) I made the mistake of pleading and telling her about how we can be together since distance was an issue.

My ex GF posted a story (I didn't open or play it but just saw the preview on my feed) and it said "He's not the hero he thinks he is. That cape is a big red flag." I can't help but feel it's directed toward me but I'm a bit mystified. The only think I can think of is I made a comment on one of those poem memes on the meme itself about how I'd give almost anything to get my ex back. But could she even see that? I didn't post the meme on my timeline, I just typed a comment on the post itself. It seems almost fantastical that she could see my comment when I didn't repost the post itself on my timeline or anyone else's. Plus, I mean, even if she did see it, I didn't name her and it's not something mean or cruel. But otherwise I've left her alone. I haven't tried to message her, call her, go to her house. I haven't tried to contact her at all so I'm not sure why she'd post a story like that (unless it's about someone else, I can't rule that out, but it'd be quite a coincidence).
