Man, a genny, AC and a bow thruster … that boat is fully loaded for a 26er.

Great boat. Wish it had two outboards.

I have a Regal 1900ESX that's a pretty sweet little bowrider. But I just saw this thing at a boat show a month ago--and I was blown away. 26 ft Express cruiser?? That can be towed?? That has a very decent cockpit for lounging outside but still an entirely serviceable (and bright!) cabin?? I've been on SeaRay cruisers that are feel like tombs inside. From a looks perspective I think she needs to go on a diet, but I was totally amazed by this thing and fell in love. Also my favorite model. Very reasonable for the cost. When you say she's not an "offshore boat" what defines offshore here? She has a higher freeboard than most those offshore fishing boats. 70 gallons may not be a ton of fuel, but you should be able to get 140 miles out of that I'd guess. Which means it should make it to Bimini off FL or Catalina off CA, right? On the engine thing, what do you think of Volvo's Coastal Series (I think previously called Ocean X) that are supposedly titanium coated and corrosion resistant? I really hate outboards as I want that swim platform (and dinghy space)...

I really enjoy the times when you do boat tours! When you like something I know it’s good. I just dream 😴 of being out at sea where you are.

i am really enjoying with your boat tour ^^. i am interesting to buy between 26xo and 33xo. only think of price, of cause, 26xo is the best. but when i think of the space for enjoying with family (4-5 adults), it seems to be small for my family. so very difficult to make a decision
@JustinLeeMarine
@JustinLeeMarine 2 года назад
Thank you. The 26 would be small for more then a few people really. You would need to go up in size if you have 4 or 5 adults. Thanks for watching😊

Our 26 Regal XO is our favorite also. We would like to move up but are concerned with "double trouble" with 2 or more engines.👍🚢👍🚤 Jack Hyatt

The more you have the more trouble it can be. I like "double trouble". I never thought of that. 😆

@@JustinLeeMarine Hi Justin. Sorry to hear you are changing employers as I have enjoyed your outstanding videos on Yamaha & Regal. They seem to have less problems than some I/Os & other brands I have had in the past. Hopefully you will keep on posting. Jack Hyatt 👍🚢👍

Ugh, that battery location. Why do engineers think hiding the batteries is a good thing when technicians need to have access to them to be changed every 3 or 5 years down the road? Otherwise, very sharp looking boat. I am very happy to see OB being used on this model size. Easier to service and the motor can be tipped out of the water if the boat is kept in the water. I too prefer trailer my boats. It opens up a new way to experience a variety water locations to visit.

I really appreciate your review; I'm very interested in your opinion as it applies to being a mechanic. Do you find the outboards to be easier to maintain? (e.g., will cost less money). Is the addition of the generator (where the engine otherwise would have been) easy to work on? Are they decently reliable if you properly maintain them? What major issues do you have with the XO, and what issues *don't* you have versus the express?
@JustinLeeMarine
@JustinLeeMarine 9 месяцев назад
Thank you and if I were to buy one I would only want an onboard if the boat was staying in a freshwater environment. The outboard is easier to deal with in the saltwater and less to maintain. The generator is easy to work on in the bilge. Just takes someone that knows them to keep them maintained and fixed if they have a problem. I couldn't tell you any real issues anymore as I haven't been working on Regals for over a year since I am now Marine Max. I have always liked the Regal brand and what they offer. You can't go wrong and thanks again.
@Null1fy
@Null1fy 9 месяцев назад
@@JustinLeeMarine thanks, brother. Out of curiosity - why so adamant about an I/O for freshwater?
@JustinLeeMarine
@JustinLeeMarine 9 месяцев назад
@Null1fy Not adamant. Just saying that the I/O works well in that environment. The corrosion factor in salt is what kills them. I personally would only get outboards unless you get something big and I had diesels.

@@JustinLeeMarine thanks! Sorry about all the questions. I've used my folks '87 Bayliner for... well.. ever. Now that I'm looking to upgrade for a family cruiser it's a bit daunting trying to figure out what to pick. I'll narrow my scope of search to I/O's since I only do lake stuff.

I've always wanted a sundancer 260 but they don't make them anymore and decent ones are going for $50k minimum for a 20+ y.o. boat. I would buy this boat in a heartbeat if it wast $180k for the options. Plus trailer.

Which kind of truck can tow this boat can a toyota tacoma tow this or would a tundra would be better? What a ford ranger or raptor?
@JustinLeeMarine
@JustinLeeMarine 11 месяцев назад
It would have to be a full size. The boat is 6700 pounds without a trailer plus gear, etc. Tundra, F150, Silverado,etc.

A 1 engine boat is your favorite? Interesting, but I would be more comfortable going offshore with at least 2 engines. Of course, I do not have your fixing skills

This is my favorite Regal we sell. It's not an offshore boat but I like the ability to put it on a trailer. It's like a camper and boat. Lol. If I had to get an offshore boat it would be a Grady or Pursuit for sure. Good question and thanks for watching 😊

Is it lighter with the O/B?
@JustinLeeMarine
@JustinLeeMarine Год назад
It will be lighter with an outboard but the weight is more towards the transom so the boat runs differently than if it had an I/O. I always recommend outboards in saltwater and inboards in freshwater.

With that outboard motor how many people would you say you could get on that boat where you could keep the horsepower going and not be dead in the water..Say 4 or 6 to 8 people tops..Just asking...You said it was a 300 hp. Yamaha motor right.. what about the fuel capacity how big is the tank on that boat...🤔
@JustinLeeMarine
@JustinLeeMarine Год назад
4-6 people would be all I would want on board. Yamaha is the best in my opinion. I think it holds 70 gallons of fuel. Not a long range boat.
