Why Joe Chill is one of Batman's Greatest Characters 

There is one recent treason that came in The Three Jokers where it’s revealed that Joe Chill did it out of anger for the rich who ruined his life. Once he found out who he killed however he felt remorseful and wanted to tell Bruce he is sorry. This does happen by the final confrontation between the two Jokers where they showed the film of his confession and attempted to turn him into one of them. After The Criminal Joker is killed and The Comedian Joker (implied to be the real one) surrenders he reveals that the truth of the plan was to heal Batman’s greatest wound so that he could be that same wound.

I prefer the original death of Joe Chill story from the 40s. It made sense and was justice. Also, it made Batman more human.
