Yes but the problem we have with our activism is its inability to gain traction in the media. We don’t need them to become King or Malcolm but they do have their uses in the fact that they have a large soapbox that they stand on regularly. Example: Do you know how many ppl of color are unaware that BLM and BLM Grassroots are 2 separate entities and that to support grassroots you do NOT donate to the BLM fund and that’s all bcuz BLM has has a larger media presence. How to correct that? Cue the athletes and entertainers.

Which is why most still overwhelmingly vote democrat, more often than not, even when it’s against our own best interests. All the criticism against Jordan, albeit valid, only serves to prove that he would have been embraced by the community if he had only lowered the price of his shoe. Most of the people wearing his shoes weren’t activists anyway, they just wanted to rock a status symbol & look cool. If I were Jordan I wouldn’t give ✌🏽 sh1ts either because it didn’t change the mentality or crime statistics. 🤔 What’s the difference between a crime committed in Reeboks vs a crime committed in Jordans? Here’s the thing. While I can’t stand the fact that those sneakers became a status symbol that people were literally killing over… I can’t say that’s his fault. If the sneakers were $20, nobody would have wanted them (Marbury). There were athletes over the years who lent their name to cheaper shoes and people got clowned if they wore them. I wish Jordan had done something great with those profits, but hey. That’s capitalism. He didn’t make the rules, he just played the game. At LEAST he’s not like Kanye… Literally actively using his profits to hurt, mock and embarrass us. I’m OK with him just keeping his money and STFU.

Jordan ain't never inspired, motivated or just simply made himself somewhat relatable to the young black culture at all. The main people who made the shoe popular. Everytime you see dude in the public he's with whites. But blacks who go out and support him by buying those raggedy ass shoes. People who can barely afford them but he gets a pass...NAH FCK THAT! While not everyone agrees with some of the things Ye says at least at the very minimum has showed he has a voice, has been opinionated and has demonstrated that you don't have to just STFU and stay silent. You can apply that to anything in life. Perhaps your everyday job. Jordan is the only Majority Black owner in any of the Major sports. He was criticized by the media for hiring his friends to run his team. The real issue was that Jordan had other Blacks running his franchise and the media used Charles Barkley to talk bad about him as an owner. Barkley lost his friendship with Jordan over it and rightfully so. Jordan has done a lot for the Black community and never talks about it. Nas even mentioned it in one of his songs.
