The Pub Landlord looks at why modern medicine is ridiculous and why penicillin could only be invented in the UK. ------------ Follow the Al on Twitter at / almurray Become a fan on Facebook at / thepublandlord
Al Murray is pure comedy genius, and in this day and age, he remains unsurpassed. Those little comedy tangents, like the letter 'L' in this video, are so cleverly woven into the story, you gotta give the guy credit.
It's so hopelessly inaccurate it makes me wonder what is the point of having that facility at all. I think it's auto-generated, though, rather than being a human transcriber.
Not a plague, THE PLAGUE. Not shamus‘ plague, THE PLAGUE! Captions got it as: it’s right hey ride ride notes turning his body and the shyness is paid 😂
al murray reminds me so much of dave allen in the way he can relate a story and have u picture it especially about everyday things and concepts we take for granted, thats pure genius story telling that is and we need more of it
Thanks for uploading all these on the official channel, lots of jokes I've missed out on as I'm sure the full shows aren't really available anywhere here in Finland ^^
If youve sseen his tv series 'Tlme gentleman please' from 2000-2002 you'll recognise, over the 2 series he did, alot of the jokes..at 1 point he says " its been a year" which he uses alot in series 1 in said show
Well, the cc is based on americanese. Don't fret, after living in the UK for over a decade, I can only understand 90%. Well, now that I think about it, that also means that it is your mother tongue, and my second (third?) language... so... do fret? :) or... rather... SNAP OUT OF IT! :D
Just what we need in these troubled times. Common sense answers for common sense people! (etc.) To see the reactions 'common sense' people mistakenly going to one of The Guv's shows is maybe funnier than the main act. But Al spots them and they become integral to the show. Still got my FUKP Tshirt!
@@MynameisTMP- I'm not sure thats what hes doing. From my prespective, one the greatest things about comedy its one of many frontlines of speech. You have the chance to introduce topics of coversation that would otherwise be considered "taboo". If you're familiar with a lot of his material one could make the inference that its more than likely he believes what hes saying, or at least has the nerve to question what everyone is lectured to accept.
Not sure if it is part of the joke but Ian Fleming did the bond thing.....and Alexander fleming did "invent penicillin" just noticed the effects.....the drug was made by a team in the 40's lead by an Australian by the name of Howard Florey. so Howard invented Penicillin. just in case people get the wrong idea and don't learn the truth.
Not even remotely close Sergio. This guy is an privately schooled ( at a "public school" which means you just have to have enough money to pay the fees ) Oxford graduate descended from some quite notable people who satirizes the ignorant English bigot of the kind that votes Conservative and hates almost everybody. Carlin wasn't portraying a character and was more of a vicious critic of society in a quite direct manner. I would say that the Colbert Report was a closer equivalent insofar as it is a parody. There are a lot of bigots like "Pub Landlord" in the UK and their other professions of choice are taxi driver or any of the construction trades.
Young people are capable of understanding satire, and you realise the joke of the Al Murray character is that he's bigoted and spouts nationalist nonsense, no one is taking him seriously, he's not doing a Ted Talk.
