In a world where nobody has honor, being honorable only makes you feel good.

Alot of these are very general, and simplistic pieces of coverage on his mistakes. On top of that alot of people look at him, and judge the descions he made after seeing the aftermath. The meeting with cersei is the perfect example. Him approaching her to give her a chance at mercy isnt that big of a risk unless you take into consideration what we see cersei do later on in the show. From ned's perspective she's a victim of Robert. A victim who from his pov made no sort of moves against him for as long as he knew her. His first real mistake to me was not following through on leaving the second he resigned. He had many reasons to not trust littlefinger, but constantly went against any sort of better judgement. But even then you cant even directly blame cersei for ned's execution. She protests it after joffery's decree. Thats the entire reason the night's watch was there. To take ned to the wall. Something the lannisters strove for in both the cases this has come up. (tyrion is other example) I could go on, but i think ive proven enough that im a nerd. lol

Honestly, re-watching the good seasons of Game of Thrones, and Eddard stark pretty much made every decision incorrectly. For example he betrothed Sansa to Joffrey, to which he brings Sansa to kings landing and Joffrey ends up marrying Margeary Tyrell or whatever her name his

It was him looking into the bustard kids obviously, but in reality the thought of Deciding who runs everything by birth and blood is more ridiculous than the thinking we live in the eye of a giant.I know there friends and he probably saw an opportunity to help people, but in actually he was running around playing into a silly little game and tradition but the fact that after the mad king was killed and they just let another person sit down and start playing the whole royal family routine again.Itd weird that that seems more ridiculous than dragons and white walkers.

Simply put the guy was a good man, working in a bad man environment. I mean by definition for him King landing in essence by Northern standards is literal foreign land to people like Ned. An he wasn't making himself any friends by simply doing the right thing, as everyone is a snake inside the court, even when Petyr Baelish made it obvious that everyone in the courtyard including himself has at least one or more spies in the Capital and his comment about the Gold Cloaks loyalty *"When the Queen proclaims one King and the Hand proclaims another whose peace do the Gold Cloaks protect? Who do they follow? The man who pays them"* . This was him saying you got no Army here and you basically trapped yourself Essentially the second Robert got himself badly wounded by that Boar and it happens to coincide with him admitting to Cersei he knows her and Jaime secret. That would be the moment he does not stay in Kinglanding any longer and head back home during the night and rally the north cause shits about to hit the fan ones everyone know Joffreys true birth.

@@sevenkingdomz Yes and sadly for Ned the situation he finds himself in, he could have easily gotten out of it. One was not tell Cersei he knows the truth and tell this to Robert secretly. If Ned had made the right alliances he might escape Kingslanding unharmed, and chances are be able to avoid all the pain and suffering for his family. An the War of 5 kings or should i say 3 kings might end differently. As Robb does not become King in the North, and Balon will not get Theon back, prompting him to back off from declaring independence. Leaving Renly, Joffrey, an Stannis with Northern/Riverland support. An if things play out the same with Renly and Stannis it just leaves 2 kings and the battle of Blackwater Bay could end differently. With Northern Forces besieging Land while Barathoen forces blockading at sea. An i don't think the Tyrells will be able to help with this one as they will most likely see the situation and dip out.

All the things that you can't do or you won't last long.Jon Snow did all of them all the way to the end of the series and beyond so.and the whole if your a one not character only one way bla bla Cerci and to a lesser Joffree did well enough.
