I feel like this is probably the case. They were shown as having moved in together when they were like three or four during the "Little Brothers" song, and when they got turned into babies and Candice tried to take a picture to prove it to the mom, she immediately assumed it was a baby picture of the two of them together. So it would not be surprising if Phineas and Ferb never really knew their biological mom/dad.

Actually Phineas' dad was mentioned in the Star Wars crossover, but that probably doesn't count since I doubt that's canon.

What about ICarly? Carly's mother is never even mentioned, Freddy's dad is but in passing, Sam's dad is never mentioned at all. We see Carly's dad in the last episode but her mom is never even mentioned. We only see Sam's mom once and an odd amount of side characters are mentioned in passing multiple times but never actually show up, mostly Spencer's friends. It's kinda odd that Dan Schneider's shows have a noticeable absence of adults in the cast.

Freddy's mom is Mrs Benson a title given to married women meaning she was once married and it was possibly to mr Benson. If she was divorced or widowed she would be Ms Benson. Miss Benson if she was never married. Or she just wants that title. Spencer and Carly Grandfather mentions their grandma but only again in a belief second. Some of these things are answered but only in quick moments that only people with no lives would find them. Or my sister. Or put together all the links to dan's weird multiverse. The real question is how can crazy steve exist as well crazy steve but drake and josh be another show in icarly. (Sam found crazy steve in the insane asylum in sam and cat)... And Helen mentioned being the manager for the premiere in Victorious. And then there was craig and Eric in the iCarly comic con episode with jack black. With Stacy from Zoey 101 there back to not being able to say words with S in them. If you remember Drake bell guest stared as himself in zoey 101 not as drake Parker. It being a multiverse comes into play when drake and josh is a show within iCarly in IStartAPrankWar. If that episode didn't have Carly watch Megan torment the boobs than they would all fit together in one big bow but nope multiverse. Or you could use the alt theory that drake and josh is a reality show based on real people and real events in the world of iCarly explaining crazy steve in sam and cat. But doesn't explain Stacy in IStartAFanWar. With Drake being drake bell at PCA not parker as he is in drake and josh. Could however be a stage name. Like alice cooper or rob zombie.

@@ben_dover97 It's probably works like AHS, many characters are played by the same actor. The characters don't act like two characters played by the same person look ot sound similar. It feels odd at first but the characters are so developed and different other characters that actor has portrayed it feels like a completely different person. Season 8 had the oddest mix Cordelia Goode and Even Peters portrayed 7 total characters combined.

Reminds me of, along with the Krusty Krab training video ending abruptly, the times when Jimmy Neutron answers the questions about their space travels without the astronaut gear but it cuts away to Carl singing covering up Jimmy's answers

Gianina Badami When I was young and The Krusty Krab training video episode first aired I was watching it with my babysitter who was caring for me while my parents were at work anyway I was watching the episode and when it got to the ending where the episode gets cut off I was confused at what happen and thought that my babysitter changed the channel so I told her and it was still on Nickelodeon after I watched the episode a few more times after that I realized that was how the episode actually ends it’s funny cuz I had no idea what happened the first time

When Phineas explains that he was their step brother she asked "Wait? Mom remarried. What happened to dad?" And Phineas was like "Well--", about explain, but then the Death Star blew up and you couldn't hear the end of what he had to say. From what I remember though the rest of the characters seem to hear it because they were all going "Ohhhhh"

I bet if they do a live action reboot, they’ll try to make it a little more aimed towards older kids so they’ll retcon it and when they show the flashback of Doof and Linda’s date they’ll have a joke that implies they ‘did it’

I know I'm late but even one of the creators Dan Povenmire a.k.a. also the voice actor of Doofenschmirtz confirmed that Phineas's and Candace's biological father is not Doofenschmirtz. Sure they were on a date but after that when Doofenschmirtz was telling to Perry one of his tragical backstories he said that he never met her again. So that means the true biological father of Phineas, Candace and Ferb's mother are still mystery. We can teorize as much we want but as Valski said we can't get the exact answer unless if the creators wanted to. The only clue that almost revealed what happened to Phineas's and Candace's dad is in the Star Wars episode but still don't exactly tells what exactly happened to him. It is also possible that their father might have some connection with Doofenschmirtz but still again many teories as much you want to. I think other than they don't want to make the show about family relations the other reason is probably something tragic happened to both parents that probably their kids don't even know and it is so tragic is probably the other reason why they don't want to make this show depressing. This is my other assumption why the creators want us to forget about their biological parents. Edit: Or the other reason why they don't want is the plot will be too confusing.

There's the possibly that while Doof could be Phineas Dad, he might not be Candace's. Theory: Linda and Doof (who dated once before) both got divorced around the same time, got back together for a one night stand, and Doof opted out after shortly after. The other possibly is that it could be Doof's brother Roger, explaining the similarity in genetics.

He could have been lying to Perry, or he simply forgot. - my theory is that, when Charlene caught Doof cheating on her, he zapped her and Linda with an amnesia-inator so that they forget the extramarital affair. However, in the process, he also wiped his own memory. Minus a DNA test - or someone using a reverse-amnesia-inator - it would seem as if the affair never happened.
