I can think of one other game mode they can add as Endgame. Honkai Impact 3rd had this thing called Memorial Arena where we relive the moments of the story by beating the asscheeks of a certain boss featured in that story. Imagine fighting the Doomsday Dragon, but with more mechanics, or Phantylia, just a modified boss fight is all im saying.

​@@gameb9oy because they're already modified according to difficulty. The complete versions of mini bosses you fight in SU are a lot stronger because you fight them with buffs. But their powers are limited in story or MoC because you don't get buffs there. Imagine how powerful weekly bosses could be if they modified them to be even more difficult, or they added more fatal skills to them.

I adore pure fiction. It does such a good job buffing erudition and giving a new fair challenge. I feel like one last challenge mode we can use is like a tower or a gauntlet where you go through five or six sequential fights. This way, those abilities from relics or light cones about “going first” or “when battle starts” can get their full power

Honestly I'd be interested to see what other game modes they could add after MoC and PF. In any case, it's a good thing that PF somewhat balances how much weight Destruction, Hunt, and Erudition have over endgame content. I'm not able to full clear PF now, but it still feels fun actually doing endgame that's different from the usual single boss fight that you'd run into in MoC. I was pessimistic at first as to whether or not Pure Fiction will work and if it will be any different from Memory of Chaos. But good thing that it did work. And now there's a reason for me to build E2 Himeko who has been sitting around gathering dust in the corner of my account.

I think the Virtual Scentventure event was a trial for a more single target/boss oriented endgame like Memorial Arena from HI3 where you would fight story bosses like the Doomsday Beast, Cocolia or Phantylia. It would then give you a score based on how quickly you beat it.

As someone who has played quite a bit of other teambuilding gacha games, I wouldn't put it past the HSR team to add a sort of "Raid" style endgame wherein the goal is to deal as much damage as possible to a large boss (hence racking up points) before inevitably dying / losing cycles. For some other games that I have played, instead of the traditional "star" system, it became a point system wherein every point milestone gave you rewards (think weekly SU awards). They could even add a permanent reward tree that you can claim once (this reward tree can have extremely high point requirements), and a separate monthly resetting reward tree. Heck, they can even make it so that you will need more than 2 teams and each side / phase can have their own modifiers (e.g. take more damage from X Path units / take less damage from AoE attacks / take less damage from X element etc. etc.). The possibilities for HSR combat content is endless!

I wish we will get an endgame for hunt character Edit: I get an idea. To make the hunt path endgame not be dominated by destruction and erudition character. Just make the endgame have hostage besides or between the enemy. Maybe if we kill the hostage. The character will get a debuff or we lost a point. Of course this endgame will buff single target to make it work. But if we Carter it way too much to hunt character it will not be that fun. So maybe they can make something like the robot that punch cocolia or Dan IL that help us in phantalia fight. But this time, they will save the hostage

​​@@MuddyAxolotli think hunt characters with follow up attacks is already good enough for end game.Their follow up attacks also helps breaking enemy boss faster than destruction and erudition characters.

Gold and gears, swarm (dungeon crawler themed content) are the best end game content imo, it just makes you like the characters you pulled for even more because of how powerful it can get

Most important in those game modes is the difficulty. Even with a cracked out team, swarm disaster and gold and gears are actually hard, meaning you need to think about which blessings to get.

I just love how it's not time limited. I just do it when I want, and I still haven't even finished getting all the gems from swarm. I do a round every now and then, and I'll only grind it out hard when I need the gems desperately. It's very grindy, but that's not an issue for me since it's permanent.

@@danielcarrilho5217 Yeah, it takes like 35 minutes for a run, and you can get fucked over in the last boss if you had bad RNG. The dice mechanic is confusing at best, and not very helpful. Also the rewards are really bad, and ALSO based on RNG. Like you have to loose a run to get a new shitty curio for the collection, and it gets you... 20 gems.

I just 12 starred the new one yesterday. But this mode made me max out Himeko and Herta, and made me pull for Black Swan because I don't have any multi target AoE. And Kafka also shined. Meanwhile, I'm still only 32 stars at MoC. And I can't even get past last level of the newest MoC.

I hope they add more endgame modes, something like a boss rush or maybe a mode where you can only damage enemies by overhealing, clwansing debuffs; or FUA could be interesting down the line after they introduce more niche units and roles

This is a good video to showcase that with the coming of PF, rounds up the majority of the roles being used in the HSR Endgame Content. But one thing that I want to argue. You said in the end, that Hunt characters are doing just fine in the Memory of Chaos, and both the enemies & modifiers of MoC could be arranged by HYV to favor the Hunt characters. Now the thing is, most Hunt characters are being outclassed, even for the single target damage, by the Destruction characters. Yes, Destruction 5-star characters (especially the newer ones, looking at you Jingliu), are able to dish damage to the main target higher than the Hunt characters in single target scenario, with additional damage being done because most of the Destruction chara has Blast DMG. Even if HYV want to change some things like making the enemy only single unit and no more mobs or other elites, Destruction still will be on top of Hunt because of their sheer damage towards the main target. Unless they blatantly saying that Single Target Attacks will have bonus damage or something similar (via MoC Buffs or another Character buffs), I just cannot see how they will make it, unless doing it blatantly so.

I absolutely love Pure Fiction! I summoned Argenti even though he wasn't considered meta at the time, I just really liked his design and personality. So when Pure Fiction came out, it was awesome to have a place for Argenti to truly shine outside of Erudition runs in SU. And I finally built my Herta, who sat around unused for so long despite the fact that I also really liked her too. I'm hoping one day to get a Himeko! I'm also hoping one day Yan Qing will have a game mode he can truly shine in too, but his kit is really lacking synergy within itself :/

Pure fiction enables MOC to come back to its previous state of Hunt playground. Hence 2 playgrounds for the 2 paths and destruction in between. It’s very healthy for the game

I just want to say, as someone who won't / can't attempt MOC, Pure Fiction is amazing. Not only is it noticeably easier to beat, but I can use moderately built erudition teams and get pretty far. Compared to getting wiped on MOC or even forgotten hall because my characters have subpar relics and the traces aren't 10/10 yet.

If they ever do add a third mode, I'd want it to either be single target ONLY or maybe a mode where you use just one team to fight a strong version of a weekly boss. I can't see either feeling too different from what we have now though without some proper work put into them.

I like how you think that casual players are going to take the time to build a team around the newest MoC or PF stage. If a casual player can't clear a stage with what he has on hand after a couple of tries they will give up, after all the rewards for a full clear is what, like 2 and half pulls.

I disagree that the game does not need more endgame content. Not because it's currently boring, but because the game's balance is very skewed towards damage. You mentioned that sustainless teams were practical in pure fiction, and they are. In MoC they are less viable for most people, but the point still stands that damage often trumps survivability. This is not bad for the respective gamemodes, I think it is pretty fun and exciting to try out, but it devalues and further stresses the sustainer role because each unit has to justify its placement against damage amplification units. Because of this, I would propose an endless mode. In this mode, you would fight waves endlessly, like pure fiction's waves. Esch wave gets stronger in hp, damage, and speed. After each wave, you get a certain score, and in order to reach the score that grants every reward, the game should reasonably require 1.5 sustaining units. Something like welt and fu xuan, or misha and lynx. These units help the team survive while also providing offensive benefits, justifying their place over someone like bronya or pela, who can only amplify damage. It would also give more value to sustain comps because lower investment teams would need two full healers/shielders to survive, further increasing the value of the role and also giving value to currently less valuable units like the aforementioned welt and misha, who don't contribute as much damage as pure damage amps. SU losses feel awful, because it is a lot of time lost, but also it requires a lot of time to get running again. To prevent this, I would add checkpoints to this endless gamemode, so you can easily optimise the end of runs instead of spending so much effort reaching it every single time.

Biggest problem with the mode is that it is very easily auto'd with specific characters. You don't even really need them build, unlike MoC which at least requires me to have built characters and actually playing. It takes away from going for higher scores, when you can get 60k without playing.

MoC is the stage for Destruction and Hunt, PF is stage for Erudition, when you look at it like this we have enough endgame needed for dps but do you know what we missing? we r missing a stage to shine for those weird quirky unit that doesn't fall into normal standard dps (example Clara) or sustain unit like abundance and preservation. in cmt people r wishing for more dps endgame, i don't want hsr to turn into another genshin dps impact so i want endgame that focus on survivability or completing objective that is not doing dps, that is the endgame i think hsr is missing, not another dps focus endgame

All content in the game can use abundance and preservation units they do a lot from healing, to cleanse debuffs, taunting the enemy, to reducing dmg taken and reviving characters. Most hyperinvested players can just brute force but that doesn't invalidate those units for the majority of players since they also have offensive capabilities like freezing opponents, increasing max hp for hp scaling dmg dealers, and generally sp positive options for teams. Clara and Blade have good dps and survivability at the same time so you can use them for sustain and add another dps instead of preservation or abundance. Simulated Universe really brings out the absolute dominance of preservation and abundance since they can be invincible and deal dmg at the same time. It also doesn't have a timer like other endgame modes so you can use whatever strategy you want so everybody gets a chance to shine.

I personally don't find PF very different from Memory Hall - they are very similar due to lack of game complexity. Yes, it made Erudition characters useful, but that's all.

Yea, I wouldn't call it perfect since Pure Fiction only exists for Erudition characters to have somewhere to be META since anywhere else they are never the best option. And unlike MoC and SU where you have flexibility in which characters to use, PF is handcrafted so that it is almost impossible to complete if you don't have extremely specific characters since Herta and Himeko only take you so far.

Same, it's the same thing with Abyss tbh. As someone who's always in "end game" which is doing all world quests, finding chests, collecting whatever element culus stuff, all of this is just extra work but yeah it is optional. They're basically damage check modes and that's fine. But yeah a lot of us casuals don't have the time for all of this. At least for me, I'm always in the "endgame" lol
