We're on to the next maintenance project - clearing our fence line! Also, we take some time to explain why we're pulling certain weeds, and why the goats don't mow the grass down.

I think these are the first sheep I’ve ever seen without their tails docked. They are beautiful!!! I am also a fan of @Sandi Brock, who raises sheep in Canada and @The Sheep Game, who raises sheep in Scotland. I enjoy watching sheep - birthing, being sheared, and especially the babies jumping around on their mamas when mama is lying down. While Sandi raises her sheep in a barn (except for just a few retirees that have been put out to pasture), the sheep in Scotland are mostly kept in the pastures. Thanks for sharing your life with us, who can only dream. Your videos are always enjoyable and I look forward to each and every one!!

In my opinion you both are setting great examples for your kids, in planning , hard work, determination, and sharing skills that will stay with them for the rest of their lives, showing them the importance of stewardship of the the land you are all working hard to improve, you both are so great at sharing tasks that will give them their own vision and skills that are priceless. Great video thanks for sharing!!👍👍👍👍

Having that much grass is a GOOD problem to have! Get a lot more sheep and some cows and more premier one netting. soon you will convert sunshine into meat in the freezer. We use that netting that is 164 feet long and put 2 of them 164 feet apart parallel to each other and use 3 more nets perpendicular to leap frog paddocks one pole at a time making 11ftx164ft paddocks moving them once a day. works great.

The Club Cadet push string trimmer with .155 line is a good unit to have. That Bobcat ToolCat would be a nice property maintenance vehicle if you can find one used. The Mecalac is a nice all in one unit. If you could mulch up your mesquite trimmings into woodchips and put them along the fence line would keep down the weeds.

Bonjour la famille. forgive me for being late to the vidéo. unfortunately, there's been a sad event that preventing me from being present for the vidéo. the queen of england, has passed. i'm a dual citizen, my mum was born in Liverpool, and a profound sadness has crept over me that i'll not be able to share with her. that being said, watching the introduction of your vidéo with the new members of your clan made me smile. sheep with long tails. An option is to run an add for a specific period of time. Say for instance, the month of May and in the ad you a request, someone who’s willing to bring say 30 or 40 head of sheep and goats for say a dollar a day they would pay you for the 30 days to graze off your property now by doing this, you would have to have all things you would not want Eaton. Protected and Ben stuff I’m not sure with all your mesquite trees if that’s an option, but nonetheless people will pay to grade your land with their animals

I wonder if your goat heads are the same ones we had up in the Texas panhandle when I was a kid. They'd flat a bike tire or even a car tire if it didn't have tread left. An annual Summer right of passage was being able to run through them about two weeks into Summer when we had put off all shoes. There was a peculiar flat footed gait that was required, but all of us could do it once our feet toughened up. Since we ran everywhere it was a useful skill to have.

I still think you need a riding lawnmower, of course that wouldn't help along the fence lines. It's amazing how fast it all grows when you get 4 inches of rain all at the same time. Just add water. LOL I have some RU-vid friends in Panama that have some goats and what they do is stake them out in the middle of where they want them to eat the grass and all they do is give them water. If they don't eat the grass they don't eat. You might want to watch their videos and you might get some ideas. Their RU-vid channel is;the nomadic movement. They are a young couple and the people around them. She had a baby earlier this year so they are learning about how to have a little one to take care for.

Not only is amaranth triggering to allergies, it also has very painfully spikey seed heads. They are sometimes called sand spurs. Amaranth, goat heads, and nightshade are better off far from human dwellings. They have their place in the ecosystem, but that place isn't in daily contact!

Several different plants from different families can be called pigweed. Amaranthus retroflexus is known to be poisonous to livestock (perhaps including chickens, the article referencing pigweed failed to give the Latin name) You need to be sure of the type you have, then consult with a vet as to what parts may or may not ge edible. At least two types of pigweed are edible to humans. Some edible pigweed can cause calcium to not be absorbed, and this can only be eaten occasionally. Except for the tails and that yours are taller, your sheep look like mine,

First time watcher and subscriber!! Cool stuff!! Goats 🐐 are finicky aren't they? What about a sickle bar mower or attachment (I gotta keep watching to see what implements you have). But they're perfect for fence line and ditches. They don't require high HP to run, like 15hp or less. You could probably even Redneck-engineer a long hedge trimmer (electric , like Ryobi) and run it along the fence line and underneath.
