Why Scorpio N Received “0 Stars” in Australian NCAP? 

2-3 days ago I was watching a video on RU-vid about a man who was traveling with his fairly new Scorpio N. He had to loose one of his leg just because the front right wheel came out completely off the car and he had no other way left other than crashing into the guard rail. Like a sharp knife that guard rail went all the way through the front of the car and chopped his leg instantly. He contacted Mahindra several times before going for that trip because he was having trouble with the car, but they didn't seem to care. They even told him his car was having no issues.

Recently on youtube channel of prakeek singh, It was reported that a in a scorpioN the front wheel was prone to the accidently detached, the owner went for repair many a times but mahindra didn’t took much care. Once when owner was on highway, the wheel got detached and car collided in the left side silver colored aluminium barricades. The open end of barricades stiked through the car and cut the owner’s leg from knees in milliseconds. Even after such a big accident mahindra bribed police and tried to close the case. Even police tried to convince owner not reporting fir.

6:07 perfectly put, nowadays people have taken ADAS for granted, and resulting in many serious incidents and near misses. People should be educated more that these are just "assistance" systems, and the whole onus of safe driving falls on the drivers themselves.

Indian brands should focus on reliability of their products, now there's a case of a Scorpio N accident where the wheel just came out of the car and due to that the owner lost one of his legs and the car, like after 9 hrs of accident burnt. It's not a single case, there r many with both Mahindra and Tata. They should focus on that...

but getting 0 stars is actually VERY GOOD from the customer's perspective... now these companies will be forced to give active safety features in all of their cars & ultimately our cars will be safer

I have a feeling the Australian car review channels is getting a fat sum of money from mahindra themselves to review their cars. Because looking at their channel I can clearly see they are obsessed on reviewing them 😂

INDIAN MANUFACTURERS SHOULD NOW FOCUS ON QUALITY CONTROL. AND TATA ALSO NEEDS TO FOCUS ON THEIR ENGINES.

If we want Indian car manufacturers to do well at the global level then the Indian government must have to add ADAS safety features to the BharatNCAP rating process. The components for ADAS safety features are expensive right now, but if it becomes mandatory for each vehicle in India then surely the prices of ADAS components will reduce due to mass production. And the government should also give some concessions to those cars which have ADAS safety features in it, like some reduction in taxes etc to encourage the car manufacturers.

Recently a Scorpio n owner lost his leg during an accident with a tata Nexon So this is a serious problem😮

Moral of the story is :- jaisa market ushi hisab se safety features deni chahiye apne car ko ush market mein bechne ke liye. Scorpio N which are sold in Australian market should get ADAS . Yahan tak ki Scorpio-N ki upcoming pickup wali varient mein bhi ADAS honi chahiye

I really want Maruti Suzuki Fronx to be tested by GNCAP!!! I know they will never send it to GNCAP because Suzuki has openly criticised GNCAP for being “UNFAIR” to them. Fronx is the only good car in terms of design and performance and interiors from Suzuki and if Fronx gets 4-5 stars in GNCAP then my family will buy it.

Because of these revised norms a sturdy car like Ignis which had scored 3 stars in EuroNCAP and 3 stars in GNCAP has scored only 1 star in the revised norms of GNCAP. The car is the same but the norms wanted 4 airbags and adaptive safety features.

Mahindra is a shrewd company. Stay away from Scorpio-N, it may cost you your or your family's life. Don't get influenced by these RU-vid influencers, its their job to influence audience to buy particular product for which company pays them. Indian brands test their products on their customers, don't buy any Indian brands atleast for six months just after launch for your peace of mind! Very good content to break the improper misconceptions. Very informative inputs. I enjoy your videos. There are other inputs as well. Like the question you had raised in the last, which is the Negative (-ve) rating. Absolutely Yes. As this would let the consumers to take an informed decision before purchasing their car. Like what are the shortcomings of this car? What can it do well and where it can be a disaster. It should be made as a safety standard. Infact what Australian NCAP has taken. If we see, we are having ABS, EBD, BA, Airbags, Electric power steerings for more than 2 decades, and we still see soo many accidents. Along with Active safety, passive safety features needs to be considered. I beleive to bring our country's automobile standards, Bharat NCAP should also have something similar to Austrilian NCAP.

Why would company approach to ANCAP for rating their cars, to get zero rating, knowing that their car doesn't have ADAS system? Getting zero is humiliating. They should have never opted for ANCAP certification. The owner of the car might have thought that the way he gets all his work done by maintaining close relations with VishwaGaaru and nowadays a centuries old temple has been constructed which has made people happy and it's effect are visible. The owner is well aware that nowadays most people have herd sheep mentality they will accept anything that is told to them without even questioning it's efficacy, relevancy. People will accept anything like the way they accepted that no one died with oxygn shortages, demonetisation ended corruption, Id link details are safe and secure, etc. That's why the owner must have felt that you don't need any ratings. Even if the ratings are bad, people will still accept it, because we have temple. Temple influence is more powerful than any ratings.

Customers need to understand that if accident happens by whatever cause, you're screwed. No safety rating, no electronic feature is going to save your life. There are thousands of people who drove alto their whole life and still driving unscathed at 60 years of age. And there are people with 2.5 tonne suvs being split in half within 2 months of their driving, whole families get wiped out. If there is something that can save your life, effectively for free is by changing your habits. Do not overspeed (ever), double check while changing lanes on highways, keep adequate distance for emergency braking between vehicles, make sure you're brakes are in proper condition all the time, do not drive when you're tired.... there are many more, so introspect and improve. Australia jaan bujh ke ye add karwaya hai competition kam karne ke liye... Indian cars kam price pe safe aur reliable car de rhi thi kuch saal se to chinese aur other brand ka market khaa gyi thi thora. Isiliye unhone lobbying kiya aur ye compulsory karwaya taaki normal Australians ko lage unsafe hai, ni lena chahiye. Itna obvious mili bhagat hai...koi bachcha bhi pakar le inko😂 Ab Indian companies ko ADAS lagana padega aur cost bhi 10% increase ho jayega. Anyways abhi bhi sasti padegi unse.

For all the commenters saying only adas is the reason, you should read the actual report or watch Sundardeep Singh’s analysis with the report summary. The standards are improving and unfortunately the Indian car manufacturers need to catch up.

ADAS systems are very complicated. The systems in new cars in India are very unreliable and can be the cause of accidents. Our beautiful roads don't help the situation

ADAS helps a lot and is not autonomous driving features like found in Tesla, GM and other products. Autonomous features work in certain areas only and legally require drivers to stay attentive. It is that the irresponsible drivers abuse these systems and cause accidents. It is unfortunate that auto manufacturers in India (Indian or foreign) get away with just basic and unsafe features.
