Is there any commitment from MS regarding the licensing? Or could this be like the SQL Gateway and Azure connectors all over again where it was originally included in the seeded license but then removed without there ever being notification that SQL inclusion was only temporary.
Hey Paul, This is all in preview so my advice is play and get familiar and maybe do some temporary planning for future projects but wait till it goes in GA.
@@DanielChristian19 thanks Daniel. Given the shady history on licensing I think I will wait for a commitment from MS before devoting time to an architecture that may be rendered financially untenable once the 'promotional period' is over and Cds in Teams is moved to premium.
Hi Ahmad, I'm not entirely sure about that. My educated guess is yes considering they have more responsive design features added. The best way to get the answer is to do some testing based on your requirements.
Thanks Daniel, for this clear basic explanation of Oakdale. I still have worries about MS Licensing policies and changes they make on the way. (Compare SQL moved to Premium in PA and nothing extra comes for free!). But this setup within TEAMs is enriching the TEAMs capabilities and MS is going for that goal. Q: Can this CDS data (environment) be linked in a PA app outside TEAMs? Gr. Lex
Hi Mizan, I don't see an option to import data in bulk both in Teams and in the Power Platform Admin Center. The best I've been able to do is copy and paste one row at a time.
@@DanielChristian19 I have a lookup with 10K rows and would like to import easiliy. I know in list you can copy and paste about 500 at a time. One by one is not really ideal. I know wirth CDS its possible to edit in excel and update data.
@@DanielChristian19 Just wondering if we could sorta integrate under project oakdale, powerapp for data maniulation, then power automate for sending and requesting http, then displaying that info requested as a Adaptive card. Something like that.
Smth ive noticed, by default You only get 1.5gb data storage, not 2gb as announced because any instance in a teams already takes 512mb... (check it in powerapps admin center)
Hey Will, I haven't found a way to do that yet since the Environment URL which is a crm dynamics URL isn't available. That is the URL you need to connect to the CDS. Here's a link to a Microsoft Doc that I'm referring to docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/common-data-service/data-platform-powerbi-connector
