Why this high quality Roblox horror game is FAILING 

There's neither Weird Strict Parasites nor is it an experience defined by RNG, how am I supposed to promote this to the algorithms!?

Should have named it “weird strict parasite”.

Make parasite into a generic story, "horror" game with a retro roblox style, then maybe it'll get popular?

This game is literally halo but it focuses on the flood.

Nice vid, not gonna gas the game up or anything but a lot of the issues present are a result of time constraints on my end, I didn't and still don't have a lot of time to flesh out things like the infected team, but I also think a reason the game is dying not mentioned in the video is the lack of appeal to general roblox audiences. This will probably be the last "live-service" + horror type of game I'll be making (but not my last game). Nice vid tho

Maybe if the parasite only infected dads and then caused them to be weird and strict it would be better

STS QA tester here, I fully agree with the video, some parts are less than desirable but with Bloxy being the one who codes 95% of the game, it's hard for him to add stuff that would add replayability (I recommended different maps and objectives, but they would take alot of time for Bloxy to do alone, especially since he got school and he gave himself a deadline to get the game out) and pertaining to the infected team, Bloxy already said in the comments that he didn't have time to fully flesh out that team. Regardless, most of the projects STS does are concepts that Bloxy finds cool, and we're trying to make them the polar opposite of souless roblox games (Hunting Season, Boss Blitz and this game are good examples), taking inspiration from our favorite games and we are just trying to have fun. Anyways, good videos as always Breadian.

Good game. But my guess is the reason why the game is dying is due to the lack of updates in my personal opinion and somewhat lack of replayability.

Imagine if Roblox promoted short, instant-gratifying and factory-produced games over games that take more than 30 seconds to understand but have very in-depth and entertaining gameplay! What a crazy world that would be.....

In my opinion what made parasite so fun in the beginning is that nobody knew what they were doing. Most of us would just run around hoping to survive and find the next sector. Now the game is filled with a bunch of sweats who make it to sector 4 before sector 1 even decontaminates.

I stopped playing that game because of the amount of times the human team would just die off in the first sector either from decontamination or just by dying because they activated the giant indestructible robot or dying to the parasite bug spawner.

This game heavily punishes you for exploration outside the group since enemies will spawn closer. It has that awesome environment but lacked replay ability. Being rewarded by being a team player with more objectives would have kept the game fresh along with infected respawns being balanced but that’s just me

I was so scared as I lit the Nightlight to find my Werid Strict Dad all Alone as he was about to start his Resdience Massacre Far From Land with a CHAIN because of the Parasite.

Some things i dislike about the game 1: that weird glitch were like you'll sometimes find sector 3 connected to sector 1 and sector 3 goes like 2 feet and instantly connects into sector 4 or something like that. 2: i alwasy end up dropping my gun by accident cause on mobile the drop button is close to the rest of the buttons 3:GETTING LEFT BEHIND ALL THE TIME

i remember enjoying the game, when i was one of the last people, having the keycard and is searching for the core. Then finding it and outrunning the parasites. Then seeing how i am the only one left. Slowly but surely making my way towards the ship and wins. That feeling has deminished long ago, as it became more and more common to win as i got better.

Have you covered "Randomly generated droids" ? and/or perhaps "Tower battle : Battlefront" ?

i love how this game is literally halo the flood and the and the second half of dead space 1, it gives you that survival horror the inspirations have.

This is like Incursion if it was constantly updated

i think the game would be more popular if grabbing new items was locked by a paywall and the monsters were piss poor ai that would instakill you and then make you pay for a revive

I found the game on my recommended page and i immediately liked the visuals and premise. But its one of the very few roblox games left that uses server-side registration for pretty much everything, which makes it near impossible to play with my 200 ping.

It just sucks to even play as the cool looking parasites due to how slow they can be and it doesn't help how people can just camp an area with a FLAMETHROWER I literally had a round last an entire hour because some dickhead had a flamethrower while camping the engine room and NOBODY could even go up and deal enough damage to him before he just accidentally slipped off the edge and fell! I love this game but damn the choices made were REALLY something

Was very fun game. Though we were promised weekly updates, and our second weekly update never came. Then we were told it was monthly. They never came.

they also made siren head rebirth, and the old one which i used to play a lot but i think the old siren head was just made by bloxycolathief himself

Honestly with a little work this game could become one of the better roblox horror games, up there with weird strict dad chapter 1 and weird strict dad chapter 2, weird strict dad chapter 3 and maybe piggy.

Man soda thief studios games are fun and well made (especially models) but after a while they get boring. I’m sure the original hunting season could’ve done well if they added new maps.

As MUCH as I love parasite for utilizing flood similar models and straight up halo weapons, the parasite team feels super-underpowered. They seem incredibly fragile and barely do any damage, meanwhilst humans can legit tank 6 hits for free and then spray you with a random assortment of weaponry that guaranteed your death.

This is always so annoying, good roblox games barley get plays while not as good or bad games get many plays, like mm2 with 100k+ average while games like forgotten memories has 600 average

The game has a variety of weapon to choose from and having different combinations of them lets you pick different play styles. The zombie team has different mutations that warrants different play styles too and calling it just m1 simulator is a far cry from the truth. Those factors combined with the randomly generated maps that DO HAVE LEARNABLE PATTERNS makes a game with a good amount of replayability. I think the main issue is that the game has a very steep learning curve right at the very very beginning. But after that it’s an adrenaline riddle journey of Sunshine and Rainbows. If anyone has trouble with directions on objectives, follow the one way paths splitting from big networks of rooms in the closest direction to the arrow indicator offered by the Detonators and Reactor keycards. If you’re lost in a net work of rooms try to make clock wise or anti clock wise rotations around the rooms till you find new split paths.

i love this game, but i would like it if had other modes or smth and just a few design changes, i wish the characters were a bit taller (normal human height) with a over the shoulder perspective, this has only been done in a few roblox games and maybe lasers on your guns when you aim, for the modes i wish that normal mode was different you have to do objectives along the way so its not just walk over there and walk over here, survivors should also always been like overwhelmed and forced to run on core meltdown, infected constantly teleporting to you if there far, and maybe a survival and holdout mode

parasite isn't even a horror game It's a PVP third person player vs zombie pvp Arcade shooter more than anything It's certainly not a good horror game third person, lack of ambience, tacky gun play, player zombies spawning right in front of you It suffers the same issue as all pvp zombie games: playing as infected and dying over and over sucks unlike decaying winter with its little bit of meta progression and rng to spice things up, this game is the same walking simulator over and over. you're not even rewarded for sticking as a team actually as being in the front means no zombie spawns will come after you and only 1 player has to reach the entrance in the meltdown sequence. Other than learning the skill of following the arrow towards the next breach site better, you'd have experienced all there is to the game in just 2 rounds. usually at least an appeal of these games is to have multiplayer interactions, but this game actively discourages it with its nature of "just go as fast as you can". Even flood escape deals with this better with team buttons to slow down the first runners for the rest of the group to recoup.

I don't know if anyone noticed this but it looks like the weapons are modeled after Halos, infact the design of the parasites are abit similar to the flood aswell.

I remember clear cut, when this game first came out. It was challenging, intense, and FUN. Getting passed sector 4 but not surviving the evac, was the most thrilling part. Before they started adding more items to help you win, it difficult (but not impossible) to win.

7:51 So basically that guy's the berserker, it's one of the malfunctioning robots called Warners except instead of the parasite failing to get a hold on the robot and just sorta make it malfunction and do whatever, you trigger too many of them and the whatever defense network is weaponized by the goobers to summon the berserker which is a defense robot who got taken over by the parasites successfully, the guy's not too big of an issue (christ it's slow as hell) but don't summon it near any group of fellow humans, chances are it'll down a couple guys and cost you the game (yeah another one of the issues is infected snowballing, it's still a common issue with every other infected survival game but this one suffers from it the most)

I actually prefer the player who died to spectates while an Ai control their body after transformation, this way, it creates room for those who don't want to play and just waiting out to the next round. Or alternatively, spawns AI parasites more frequently and more variety. Still, this is very early and i hope they improve it further.

Because a bunch of players rather play some trash horror games rather than playing high quality horror games like this one which is just sad honestly 😕

If I have a nickel for everytime Soda Thief Studio releasing a banger game then it died right after a few weeks, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't alot but it's weird that it happened twice.

Here's my take by playing this game, its....it's 7/10 The graphics and atmosphere are phenomenal, truly dead space. The infected design and gore is actually pretty scary at times, especially when your alone. The game objective is easy at best And the monetization is not as scummy as a tycoon game. But the problems result in the game play, especially as an infected. If you're infected, you are immediately stuck to the grunt infected, which is honestly the lowest of the lowest. The problem with the grunt they are at the same speed as humans, and their stamina bar runs quickly. That's another issue. The infected have stanima bars. Rather than being a rapid hoarde to be feared, it's more of an annoyance you have to deal with. Granted there are some zombies that shouldn't have infinite stamina bars like the crawler, but when your spawned 135M away from any humans it will take you about a minute and 30 to finally catch up if your a grunt. Another issue is the lack of updates to the point the gameplay gets repetitive. There is no lore to find, there's no side quests to do that entices the player to explore the vast stations they land at. There just the objective and then get out. That's it. There is no hit marker when you shoot or attack as infected. You don't know if you actually landed your hit on your target. Your only validation is when they go down. Granted, a minimal issue for humans right, but it's an outrageous issue for infected. One time some infected was trying to swing at me constantly and kept missing, cause they couldn't familiarize the hit box. Another L for the infected, they don't have predator vision or night vision abilities. So when the core about implode or your in a dark area, your current visibility matches the humans visibility. It's really weird and at times gets you stuck against a wall. My take to make the experience reach to other players Give infected predator vision (on command) Work out infected speed Give hit boxes, especially for infected Give infected certain role choice. I'll elaborate by saying, they can be a level one grunt, level one crawler, level one spewer or a level one rook (yes I made these names up, cope) but the more kills they earn, the more they level up. However if they die they go back to level 1. To ensure they won't constantly choose one role the game has to force them into a different role after 3 deaths. Makes side objectives and story lore that appeases exploration. That's my entire thoughts on this crafted game. It's not bad, but it can be better. 7/10

Best way to describe Parasite: SIGNALIS but there is no huge ammount of corrupted replika women that make people ##### when they see their document images and you don't get sad when finishing it. Oh also you don't have an isometric point of view and you have to play it like if it's DOOM but extra objectives

I played this game for a round but I turned away from it after playing as the flood because it was really boring to play as the flood. Legit was just chasing the survivors around to just die doing nothing at all for 15 minutes since the flood are like just as fast as the humans

The "Infected" model of human is VERY similar to the flood combat form (human) from HALO 1-3. I'm not the only one noticing that, right?

The game looks amazing but is painfully boring after while and the confusing minimap and labyrinth of map makes it even worse.

I tried this game a few months ago, I killed some guy and then he blocked a door's button so I couldn't get through for five minutes (I disliked the game and left)

Here's my experience with two other friends, we were lost while not knowing what to do and after a few minutes the game just told us to go back to the start. Yep, i left right on the spot for thinking the game was a walking sim 😭

Wow. This game. It reminds me of a dream I once had. I was lying alone in bed at a frigid dusk. When my weirdly strict dad came into my room. He started rambling on about how I should keep the doors locked or else a chain saw killer would come inside and cause a residence massacre. Then I just gave him some roses, and he crawled away through the vents and left. Then it ended.

I absolutely loved Parasite when I first played it, for a couple of hours or so. But the game is basically the same for every match, for both nature and design, half of your team will be gone by the second area and even more will die as you progress, even if you make it to the final objective (destroy the facility and exfiltrate) you will almost always die because of the amount of people swarming you. The parasites are also insanely stacked, they can obliterate you with little care, even with a few extra players than parasites. Summary: The game wasn't weird or strict enough

can only hope the game devs watch this video and take in that rizzler gyat ohio rizz information and bounce back, because i want to see this game flourish

I tried playing Parasite, and it's generally a clusterfuck to try and play on low-end devices especially with Roblox's terrible server ping. plus last time I played, you could get infected in literally a single hit no matter what which was quite baloney.

this looks like gtfo but worse, I feel like the game could be a lot better if there were only 2 possible ways per room, one being the main math, and the other just being a sideroom with extra items, the sideroom would cut off after one to keep the game from getting to cluttered. another solution to the major ass suckage of the map is to just have maps that are set in stone with the item locations random, and have them be cycled in and out in order to keep gameplay from becoming stale. not a game design major so if my idea is big baby brain dont judge me

Imo when I first played it looked very promising but later on like about a week or 2 I just didn’t play it anymore. While it does have issues in some or most parts (I don’t know to criticize lmao) but generally overall it’s at least trying to change the genre of games that are just riddles with “Scary stories” or RNG games.

I recall mentioning how games like Forgotten Memories, despite being perfect, often don't attract as many players as other games, such as Parasite. Although Parasite isn't perfect, it's entertaining. In my opinion, perfect games aren't as enjoyable because they lack fun glitches and other elements. This is why Parasite gets more attention.

Now that hunting season rebirth is dead to like five people now and now it's going for their other games
