Nothing else to upgrade so might as well get a ceramicspeed OSP or BB. Yes more Venge and SL7 interviews.

@@happywolfie1980 The only kind of Tarmac SL7 that'd impress me is one that runs a mechanical groupset, which I've only seen three times (the first one I saw is the one I built, I'm the first in my ex-workplace and one of the first in my country to build that kind of Tarmac SL7). Electronic-specced ones are way too common.

Some stuff don't add up man. 600 for ceramic speed bb absurd but power mirror saddle ok? Disc brakes takes a little more work and care comparing to rims brakes but the stopping power/modulation in the wets kind of makes it up for it. Unless you don't cycle in the rain. Bleeding, changing of rotors due to contamination/damage and all the other hassles of disc brakes needing to be sent to the mechanic for work does cost money but how often do you need to? I mean the bike costs 11 grand. What is 35 bucks? But overall good sharing and sweet bike. The venge is really an awesome bike. Cheers!

Cannot see or flash, not worth to "invest". Power mirror people see, straightaway will haiyoh!
@eternalarizon

comparing between ceramic speed bb and power mirror saddle, i think its better to spend more on contact points (ie. bibs, gloves, saddle, shoes, maybe even bartape and handlebar) as that will give you the most comfort, and with more comfort = better duration on the bike and being able to sustain power and speed on the bike
@mjokffsgfjs
@mjokffsgfjs 2 года назад
Yes, but the reason given in the video is because is a s-works must have power mirror.
@haraluga
@haraluga 2 года назад
@@eternalarizon I can get behind that point of view. But 600 bucks for a saddle a little bit too much? Can get 2 really damn good bibs.

If you can change brake pads on rim brakes, you should also be able to change your brake pads for disc. Its just 1 screw. Take old out, put new one in. Also tool to push pistons back in is just 20 bucks. Its really a simple job. Or just use flat screw driver.
@yonglingng5640
@yonglingng5640 2 года назад
Absolutely do not use a flatblade to push the pistons back. Shimano's pistons are made out of ceramic, which can crack when pushed back this way. A better method would be to use the length of a tire lever to push them back instead of using the tip. That way, you can distribute the pushing force more evenly instead of concentrating it all on the center of the piston and risk no damage since tire levers are almost always made out of plastic.
@xBALL3R
@xBALL3R 2 года назад
@@yonglingng5640 You have to hold the screw driver parallel to the piston of course. Then it will serve same job as the fancy tool. But yeah tool has a bigger surface area so its a bit easier. I have used both tool and screwdriver and my brakes are fine.
@yonglingng5640
@yonglingng5640 2 года назад
@@xBALL3R Scare die me, now that isn't so bad. I'd still use something softer than ceramic though. I've been using the handle of a Park Tool cone wrench all this while.

But oil and grease is your number 1 enemy for disc brakes. On rim brakes, u just wash or wipe the pads and brake surface, you’re back on the ride again.

@Heltsin

If you sit on the nose of a saddle, it's too wide. If you sit where you're supposed to sit on a saddle (i.e. at the center) your saddle is the right width. The fizik fits you better. If you ride on bad roads, you'll feel the difference in the support it gives. Bigger contact patch = better comfort and lesser chance of injuries.
@yonglingng5640
@yonglingng5640 2 года назад
I've been sitting a little ahead of my saddle's center for a long time, even after I got a saddle that fits me width-wise and had no problems. Every rider's style varies. Based on my observation so far, it seems like performance-oriented riders are the ones that tend to do this. I know two riders who sit like this on their bikes, both of whom are much faster than I am.
@Heltsin
@Heltsin 2 года назад
@@yonglingng5640 well, little deviations are to be expected so sitting a bit forward is perfectly normal. But, sitting too far forward or back is not how you're supposed to sit on a saddle. I think y'all probably have very aggresive positions and sitting forward is a way for you to open the hip angle. Saddle height and fore/aft adjustments also change where you sit on the saddle but when you're sitting too far forward, it's a saddle width problem.
@yonglingng5640
@yonglingng5640 2 года назад
@@Heltsin Well, my cockpit's touch points do sit moderately lower than my saddle and I ride with 165 mm crankarms.
@mjokffsgfjs

If you are sitting on the nose of saddle, your setback is too behind, seat too high or tilt angle too negative. But humans are adaptable and will get used to it, just maybe not too watts optimised.

Mirror saddle for casual/recovery ride not the best for racing, for racing I choose romin evo. Anyway i have the same frame sagan edition underexposed edition 52, the most beautiful color so far, yeah specialized aero bike range its discontinued, due to pandemic and shortages of manufacturing parts due to demand and supply that’s why specialized decided to have only one bike to rule them all which is tarmac sl7 be the all rounder bike, and some more specialized also increased all their price, to me venge still fast bike win a lot stages in pro tour during 2018,2019, but still its beautiful and reliable bike for years to come.

He needs to know to handle disc brake. I don't have a problem with the Shimano 12-speed disc brake and it's worked excellent so far, especially the battery can last 1000-1200km each full charged. Perhaps SRAM gives issues. My brake pad can last 2000km> until now and it still looks good to ride more mileages, maybe he brakes too much haha...

“Going downhill, disc-brakes are a lot safer than run-brakes”. Gotta disagree with you (& the vast majority) on this opinion. Disc-brakes on 25mm, lightweight wheels are too powerful, will lock-up under duress & are dangerous therefore. Disc-brake wheels are wider, heavier with more spokes in a less aero ‘pattern’ compared to a ‘skinny’ 25mm race-wheel & tyre. The latter requires less kinetic force to slow it. Disc brakes apply more force than is required in a downhill scenario considering the wheels it’s supposed to be stopping. The set-up is not appropriate nor fit for purpose therefore. We’re seeing the crashes, the wobbles, the veering & the lock-ups in pro-races. Disc-brakes are better (more efficient) for wider wheels & tyres & other cycling such as cross-country, gravel & mountain bike. In those types of cycling they are superior to rim-brakes. Hill-climbing & descending on lightweight road-bikes with disc-brakes is more dangerous than with rim-brakes. Rainy conditions are another exception not discussed here. Disc-brakes are all about the manufacturers & their determination to monopolise bike-design to accommodate evermore expensive components the consumer has no choice but to purchase as the previous alternatives have been discontinued with. It’s all about capitalism & greed really. Go safely on those downhills everyone. Cycle safe, be safe.
