Back in 2010 Audi went a bit mad and made a 6.0-litre V12 diesel engine and decided to put it in the Q7 SUV. This particular one cost £157,000 back then, which is about £240,000 now. Join me for 9 awesome things you need to know about this absolute unicorn!

Unfun fact Darkside developments have removed a 6.0 diesel from a crashed q7 and are putting it in an amorak mated to a manual gearbox.

It was developed for the Audi R8 but when it was in they could only fit a Audi A4 gearbox in it which was weak and rated for only a couple hundred NM so it was never put into production as it would’ve been very slow

Interestingly when I had this Q7 last year I filmed a video about the engine and about the diesel R8 specifically - I just haven't got around to editing it (almost a year on). I'll do it at some point!

@@TimRodieDrivesStuff would be an interesting watch for sure because the concept of a diesel supercar is interesting in itself and the styling for the R8 diesel I think was really cool because it took what I think to be a beautiful car and made it tastefully aggressive
