Another great video. Although it's something we've all heard countless times in different ways, your explanation of "if you do not increase tension, you will lose it" is a very succinct and efficient way of preventing shot collapse. Thank you!

Jake - thanks for all of your great content. After watching this video, i set up a similar camera angle focused on the consistent increasing of tension through the clicker. Amazing how this made such a big difference. Shot with the cleanest release in many months - and the groups were great. It was also probably the most relaxing shooting session in a long time - both physically and mentally. It's always fascinating to see what shows up on a video is rarely what your mind thinks you are doing. Thanks again.

Great video, Jake! What I would like to know is how best to hold at full draw without prematurely releasing. I struggle with this as a barebow archer. When I hold a second I shoot way more accurate than when I hold for 3 seconds. My coach tries to drill into me to hold for consistency in different conditions. But I always feel like „now what? What am I waiting for?“ it‘s more a mental problem

A great wideo. The shot where you were "struggling" was very painful to watch :). Please talk about practicing let down and restart a shot when you find that you are not in the right position. I have seen in your videos that you are not always doing that, and you are definitly not alone on that one. We all need that reminder.

Great idea. I’ve had that video requested a few times. I think I need to make that happen.

In my opinion, this is the biggest difference between shooting indoors (where you can get away with this a bit) and outdoors (where this is super punishing).

I was thinking about... What if I just push the bow forward when reaching full draw in order to set off the clicker instead of adding that bit of tension with my draw arm so i don't have to fatigue my draw arm more than necessary? I know this is kinda counterproductive because I might not notice if I'm losing tension on my string after anchoring. I've been only pushing the bow to go through the clicker when shooting and I've had no issues so far, so I suppose it's not that critical, is it? Any thoughts on this, Jake?

That's how Michele Frangilli does it. I suspect Oh Jin-Hyek does as well based on his bow arm position.

at least this is my understanding of how I expand, from the pressure point in my hand to the back of my drawing shoulder, I maintain it but when expanding, I use the movement of my draw arm/scapula to push that alignment forward, so in a way you are kinda pulling and pushing to make the expansion happen. Anyone, please correct me if I'm wrong in anyway, don't want Javier to hurt himself here if my explanation is off in anyway.

Isn't that what Jake is talking about at 7:50 ? Sounds like a bad idea to me and if you are worried about fatigue then you should just do some strength training.
