You might want to try this: When applying the decals, do NOT use any MicroSET. I have found it to be the culprit for the stains in the paint. Use just water, let it set, not dry, and then use MicroSOL until the decal is as good as it will ever get. Disclaimer: This has worked for me. Of course YMMV. I had no seen that wash you used. I was horrified when I saw you applying it. But then, after it dried and you showed how to get two end results, I was amazed. I'm going to have to experiment with that stuff. All in all, good show.

Hi and thank you for all the great videos you upload, they are very helpful! Have a question, you thinned X-22 by 50-50, would the same thinning ratio also apply for the LP9/LP24 or since they are lacquers the ration should change (always at the range of 15psi)?

Hi Bill, glad you like the videos. Regarding your questions 1) no matter what type of gloss (acrylic, lacquer, enamel), always use low air pressure, 12-15 psi. And make sure to do wet coats. 2) with the LP9 LP24, you can airbrush then out the bottle. But for best results I recommend using Mr hobby leveling thinner. Thin at 50/50 low pressure, so wet coats, not to far from the surface. You should get a beautiful finish. Let it dry 24 hours.

Thank you very much, I was gonna use mr color thinner anyway but I just wanted to know if and how much I should thin them. Thanks again and keep up the good work 👍👍

Hi could you tell me which varnish you used for the Satin coat? Thanks and great video

Steven, glad you liked the video! The satin varnish I used was the “Vallejo satin varnish premium line”. It does not need to be thinned and you spray it at 12-15 psi.

@@arewethereyetmodeling2196 Thanks for your reply. I have a bottle of that varnish. I stopped using it a while back because I kept getting a dusty finish, but i'll give it another try as at the time I was spraying at much higher pressure than I do now so that could've been the issue. I've also purchased some Gauzy agent on your recommendation. Thanks again

Fantastic video! The vallejo varnish you dilluted it 1/1 with the acrylic mixture thinner you shown at your other videos ?

John, glad you like the video. I did not thin the Vallejo varnish with my mixture formula. I use the premium varnish line from Vallejo. They do not need to be thinned. If you use the non-polyurethane varnish. You need to thin those for airbrushing, with Vallejo thinner. If you use my mixture to thin the non-polyurethane varnish it will slow the drying time. Which you don’t want with a varnish.

No testors?😳 Jman

Jman, you can use testors varnish as well. But now that testors is no longer around I find it hard to get my hands on their products.

Sorry but gloss coating is un-natural. Most WWII aircraft had a matt or satin finish. Maybe this is your personal preference but that doesn't make it right

I think you completely missed the point of my video and it seems you didn't actually watch the full video. I wasn't finishing the model in a gloss coat, I am advocating gloss coating for decals/weathering. I then finished the model in satin finish (as that is the common look for that kit). In other video builds, I finished the model in a flat coat.

Yes, once you finish, just apply the matte coat and it dulls it right down.

@@benjaminishak6192 I think you are referring to kennesaw101 comments (if I am correct). I think it's important to leave his comment, it might be a learning tool for others and for him as well.
