My goal is to limit my haircare spending. I spend so much on trying new hair products because it's a hobby but man it's expensive. So definitely limit my spending to only when I run out of a product do I get to try something new and maybe actually use up what's in my stash.
My hair goal is to grow my hair past my shoulders. My hair constantly rubs against my collar and I haven’t been able to get past it. So this video was for me.
I made it to waist length in 2022 and cut about 4.5 in off last year. Now I'm just wanting full, healthy hair. The length doesn't matter for me as much anymore. So I'm trimming about every 8 weeks.
Congrats on that! This is my overall goals and yes i want to keep up with trims to avoid a drastic cut. Hope you reach your goal by the end of this year!
since i was on chemo last winter, thus lost all my hair, my goal is to grow it back as fast as i possibly can. i've been at it since my last chemo treatment in march last year, and i'd say it's working really well. aside from growing my hair back, i also want it to be healthy, looking and feeling good. i've no idea how long it'll be at the end of 2024, but it certainly will be longer than it is now. 💞💕💖
Sweetie listen!!! Thanks to all your tips, my hair that was always stuck at shoulder length, is finally nearing my lower back and hips!! AMAZING!! For reference, i have very fine and fragile HiPo 3c hair I cannot thank you enough ❤❤❤ My current hair care goal: wearing it up in a protective style for a week or longer every month 🎉
My goal is to have healthy, and long hair. And for the crown of my hair to be thicker. I wear my hair in twist. I keep my hair moisturized. I do this every other day. But I will start putting my twist up. Thank you for sharing!!
Hi Tonya, my hair goals for this year is length retention, last year my focus was Hair health & routine, which I accomplished and continue to uphold. Thanks for all your assistance to us out here in these streets🙏🙏
I come from a lineage of short hair women 🤷 with male pattern balding in the males, but, My hair is thin in my crown, so, how do I break the cycle? 🤔 This is why I follow your RU-vid channel & my hair has flourished since following you, 💝 thanks Tonya!
You’re welcome! Your anagen cycle may be shorter, or it could be a length retention issue (dryness/breakage). A thinning crown could be from pulling/tight styles or hormonal.
One lesson I've learned is that it's better to have short, healthy hair than long, damaged hair. I held onto dead ends for so long, thinking that it was giving me length, that I had to chop off so much of it to get my hair back in shape again. Now two weeks later and I see the difference: no tangles during detangling, wayy less shedding, no breakage, and just overall happier hair. So now I'll be trimming every 8 weeks, mid-week, don't be afraid to "dust" if your hair needs it. If putting a comb through my hair isn't smooth like butter, then get the scissors and snip no matter what. It's hair, it will grow back. Don't hold onto dead ends for length's sake when all it does in the long run is leave your hair at the same length and set you back by you having to cut off so much anyway.
My hair care journey is going very well! I knew what the problem was for my relaxed and natural hair. Soon as I stopped that my hair grows to new lengths and is healthy. This year my goal is BSL for the first time ever. And overall waist length.
Thank you for sending me a message which led me to this video. I am an older lady and I appreciate all of your advice. I share your videos all the time. I love the fact that you back up your information with science ❤
I hit waist length, had health issues and it shed so much and I had to keep trimming till I got to mid back. I’m much better now so in December, took it to shoulder length and it’s so much fuller and I think Iv done 1” already with proper moisture and protein spacing. I’m focused on general health of hair and body. Best wishes. 🙏🏽
Loved wearing my hair down but learned a long time ago that having it rub against everything wasn't good. Plus, I constantly touch my hair. I am low key no high key obsessed with they feeling of my hair. I always have been since I was a child. Touching my hair is a calming mechanism for me also.
Great video. Thank you ❤. My hair goal is to learn how to keep my hair moisturized and to stretch my hair more. I would also like to sucessfully heat train my hair.
Hello. I love watching all your videos! so helpful and i have definitely learned a lot from you. My goal for 2024 is to retain more length. I have accomplished my hair goal of regrowing my hair in the crown area and maintaining a healthy head of hair for several years now. 2023 I feared reoccurrence hair loss. Daily checking my scalp, manipulating my hair, caused me not to retain much length at all! I appreciate your advice and tips on how to get passed shoulder length hair. Thanks again for another informative video!
My hair goal is scalp health this year. I started back making my own hair/scalp oils. I also started oil washing focusing on scalp. In doing all of that i hve seen a difference in my hair. It stays moisturized and has grown.
I have been watching your videos for a good year now. My hair is now shoulder length. My goal for this year is to retain my hair length. BTW where did you purchase your headband wig? I love it! Thanks so much for your informative hair care videos. ❤
My hair has grown past my shoulder length and I've maintained it. I'm trying to get to bra strap length. The main thing is taking your time detangling. Rubbing oil on your fingers to take down an old style and using a water based moisturizer to detangle. I love using "As I Am" cowash to detangle before a wash.
Took me awhile to actually find what my goal was I know I want healthy hair but I’ve also been growing it out and wanted to think of some stopping point Which I’ve decided will after three years and I’ll get some curly cut in a shape I like and stick with that until I want something else “8 months in right now so still a long way to go lol”
I need to get back to taking my iron and vitamin D3 in order to deal with my hair loss. Thanks for the tips! My hair goal is healthier and longer hair.
My goal is to maintain a simple, consistent fortnightly wash and blowdry routine and to kick my product junkie ways. I've been steadily using up or clearing out the ridiculous stash I had over the past year. Let's see how my hair responds...
I agree with the video but u can do everything to your hair but don’t take care of the inside of body as well like drinking water more fish. Vegetables it really starts from within I worked at a beauty store you be surprised of how many people say that they don’t drink enough water
My goal is to get fuller, more density hair. My hair had become so thinned out in the crown area. It is finally growing back in thicker, and I plan to keep the fuller density.
My hair care goal is to grow back my edges, have healthy hair get and retain length. I suffer from genetic traction alopecia, thinning and dryness. I mainly keep my hair in protective style for 4-6wks with 1/2 weeks off then back to protective style.
I'm currently struggling between diving deep into repairing and taking care of my fragile, breaking relaxed hair or transition to natural. I transitioned in 2022 but gave in and relaxed again after a year in 2023. Now my hair is shoulder length and even though I know for a fact that my natural hair is healthier, I don't want to start over and lose the length. The struggle to decide is real... :(
my hair care goal is to reach tbl again! i finally got my hair back to being healthy with a consistent moisture/protein balanced routine along with vitamins and quickly reached waist length 🙌🏽
My problem is at the beginning I'm all in, but after the first couple of weeks I'm unfortunately, back to being a lazy natural 🥴. I'm praying. All y'all pray for me and each other who's struggling with their crown of glory. Everyone and y'all's family always stay blessed, healthy and in the Perfect Peace of our Lord Master and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen and Amen ✝️🙏🛐🕊️
When your hair is past shoulder length but the shrinkage is real 😂. Gaining length but you just can’t tell. Im fine with it though, imo it makes it easier to deal with.
Hey Miss Tonya, my hair goal is to maintain health and continue to combat dryness. I think with that, length will come because I keep my hair in a packed down twa due to Real shrinkage. (Lol). Thanks for confirming this info.
My haircut goal is to just be more consistent with protective styling. I feel like I am going all the time and I don't ever have time to just sit and spend time give me my hair tlc.
My hair goal is to get consistent with trims now that i know trimming every 5-6 months i why i need to hack off 2 inches every visit! My hair is growing i just always end having to take it off. Yesterday i got a trim and that is what we discussed she said i should be trimming every 2 months so i will start doing that now so my next trim will be in april! I kinda want to see if i can get slightly thicker hair like i used to before relaxer so i will try again to do ayurvedic glosses. My hair is about at shoulder length but my goal for end of the year is hopefully armpit length dry and in curly state! And my last most important goal is... continuing to tackle this seb derm. I have made progress a lot the patches by the side of my ears are gone BUT i still itch and flake on my scalp next to my ears so i need to figure that out since medicated shampoos do not work for me. Maybe losing weight will help which i plan to do.
How long did it take you to get past shoulder length? I have been stuck there since I was like 14 or 15 (I'm 20 now). At this point I feel like my anagen phase is incredibly short :(
It took me 4-6 months to go from shoulder length to arm pit length, at that time moisture and protective styles allowed me to finally get over that hump. You can do it!! :-)
My hair gold is to get my hair to grow past my ears. I am 69 years old and I want my hair back as I did when I was in my forties down to my shoulders. My hair is extremely dry and seems not to get moisturized what can I use to keep it moisture.
Remember that textured hair grows outward and almost upward to the sky. If you pull your hair straight out, as though you are forming an afro you will find that it is even. If your hair is 6 in in length over your entire scalp, when it lays down flat then it's not going to be even so in other words the 6 in of hair at your forehead is not going to be longer than the 6 inches of hair at your nape. So if you want it all even you would have to let it grow quite a bit and then cut it straight across your back all one length but in actuality if you measure the hair at your forehead and then at your nape is still not going to be all the same length. I know I'm not making any sense😑
Thank you 😊 what could I use to moisturise my hair throughout the week please, whenever i try to refresh my hair it ends up looking worse and tangled. Is there any detailed care guide for hair past hip length please finding it quite difficult to manage, putting it in a bun is too heavy 😔
I need to know more about caring for high porosity hair I put under a wig. I care for it using your tips, but it won't retain length!!?? I wash, deep condition weekly and use leave-in conditioner and grease on ends or oil on the ends after I two strand twist. I spritz it with water, aloe vera, and/ or green tea or black tea every 3-4 days. I can't get it to get past my chin on the front part of my hair!!??? 😢😮 When I wear my wig, I rub a leave in on my hair or oil and use wig cap to protect it and Never sleep in my wigs - they come off when I come home and often I spritz my hair and scalp with water from my drinking filter and leave it alone and then wrap it every night with a satin scarf. I dust my ends as needed with proper shears. What am I missing?
Hey! If you're doing all the things, it could be hormonal or a nutritional deficiency. Also check to see if your hair is breaking, if so change the liquid moisturizer to a cream based moisturizer.
Thank you so much Tonya for your wealth of information! 😁 Quick question: I familiar with the company Pure Encapsulations and noticed that their hair skin and nails supplement has 20,000% Daily value for biotin. Should I be concerned about that?
