I had a ih 5288 parked on a fencers for 5 years, decided to put it back in service running a relift pump on some rice. Pack rat big as a half grown possum took up residence under cab. Took half a can of ether and 7 smoke bombs to get that bastard out of there. 😂
If you have trouble walking grain out the back of the 4400, put some taller tires on the back. We used to do that in the rice when everyone was getting away from them. We liked them because they were light and perfect for the buckshot fields we had.
I know all about moving old stuff out of the way and then twenty minutes later, move it again. The joys of having stuff is that you get to continually fix it and move it!:)
Excellent video :) my late Dad combine 1968 105C McCormick International had 1945 Farmall H basic gas motor 4 cylinder 202 Cubic Cm size also how go it start put in Commercial grade Desiel type from 1990's Dodge Cummings size Cold Cranking Amps , 210 Reserve Amps and no problem starting up after 4 turn over in trying out ! Plus pull choke all way out, 1/4 throttle one snort of Ether spray to , what do put 91 octane gas 3/4 full with 1 gallon Desiel fuel tank also bottle of fuel injection or carb cleaner in fuel ! She ran like top for Desiel motor have heard add 200 ml of GM Automatic Transmission fluid 2 or 3 type in fuel and smoke bit but cleaning out fast plus grey bottle of STP Total Treatment fuel injection and carb cleaner in fuel tank to !
We had a 7700 combine. The best part of it was the engine, once the dead batteries and sketchy wiring got it running. Ours had a 404 Non Turbo. Gear Shift and Manual Connect Auger with the slowest hydraulic assist known to man. Ah. The good old days. Our Gleaner M2 Hydro was a Cadillac in comparison. Thanks for the video. Looking forward to the next adventure.
Thats a hoot! Our 6600 (329 JD motor, just like yours) would never, ever, start without both batteries (fully charged) and a fresh can of ether installed on the electric dispenser. Was like that from new...
The only good thing about an old Deere? You can work on them without getting locked out! The Deere supplier around here still wants both arms, both legs, and my testicles for parts. I replaced a water pump on an Ingersoll Rand air compressor that's older than I am for my boss. It had a john Deere 4-cylinder diesel engine, the water pump was small enough I could probably have stuffed it in my mouth. The deere supplier took $500 for it and that was with a commercial discount!
Why don’t you just put it in neutral, and hook on to it with one of your Massey’s..... But ten again, you could probably use the exorcise, going up and down... Did you try stepping on the throttle?
One of these things is unlike the others…. ONE of these things just DOESN’T belong…. Need to get rid of the 6600 and get a MF 510 or other MF combine to have a complete matching set! Lol
