Sora won't lose the keyblade. Yes he will lose vens keyblade,but being rikus keyblade chose sora at hollow bastion he gained his own right to wield. The moment rikus keyblade chose sora over him the kingdom key became his.

Thank you,the minute sora said my friends are my power the kingdom key became his and his alone.

well that cannot be 100% proven, because if the kindom key did choose riku over sora then we would have to prove it. but we cant because riku alredy has a keyblade which beconds the question, "where did "Way to the Dawn" come from and who was its master?"
@NinjaGirlSakura1

Way to the dawn evolved from his soul eater sword.

Right but consider this, Sure the Kingdom Key chose Sora as his master, there is no mistaking that, but if Sora were to lose the ability, not the Keyblade as an item, Sora wouldn't be able to wield it, though it is his.

Point taken,but wouldn't the keyblade chosing him also grant him the ability?

Three theories on why he will keep the Keyblade: 1. Sora's heart has a bond and is connected to others. Many that he knows are Keyblade weilders; a couple even weild Keyblade as a result of him. So this bond of light will keep the Keyblade too him. 2. Ansem is always in Riku's heart, even when he tried to get rid of Ansem completely. Wouldn't this mean that a little piece of Ventus will stay in Sora as well? I would see that. 3. *wildcard reason* Sora has proven his might many times. Even when he lost the Keyblade in the first game, he still knew magic and was able to fight his way to Riku. He has proven that his heart is strong, with or without Ventus' help; Ventus may not have anything to do with this because Sora had no Keyblade at the time.

There are only two ways for someone to be able to use the Keyblade, one by the Inheriting Cerimony, and other by possessing someone inside his/her heart that can wield a Keyblade. Having ''bonds'' like friendship and meetings were never stated as requiriment to use or invoque the Key. If Sora lose ventus heart, he will most probably lose his double wielding. as you affirmated, Ventus would have a little piece of him inside Sora, that's a possibility 3. hmm no

scatherer "There are only two ways for someone to be able to use the Keyblade, one by the Inheriting Cerimony, and other by possessing someone inside his/her heart that can wield a Keyblade.". That is not necessarily true. While it is true that those are the only ways (Actually you are forgetting that it is quite possible to obtain the ability through training as proven by Lea getting the ability to wield a keyblade + obtaining his own unique keyblade through Master Yen Sid's training) that we have heard about in the games it doesn't mean that those are the only ways to do it.
@Jghost11
@Jghost11 10 лет назад
Mathias Estrup I totally agree with you Mathias, scatherer just because it is not blatenly stated as a means to a keyblade doesn't rule it out. For example, time travel was never mentioned before but now is a part of the universe. Next point if Keyblades were only meant to be passed those two ways how did the first wielders get theirs and when did they discover that they had to be passed down in ceremony. Most likely they wouldn't know until a couple generations about the ritual and during that time it did probably go from heart to heart through friendship. In this game/universe friendship and its power can overcome nearly anything even original limitations.
@scatherer
@scatherer 10 лет назад
in fact Nomura added the oh so called 'Time Travel' that was impossible to predict, but as a Theroy Crafter, i use concrete facts to forsee what is more probable to happen. i won't deny that new ways of getting the keyblade can exist, but its just betting, its not based in nothing concrete. ''how did the first wielders get theirs and when did they discover that they had to be passed down in ceremony.'' well, there is a Kingdom Hearts game for browser named KH X[chi] that happens in the time of the Keyblade War that can answer many fundamental doubts about the enviroment of Kingodm Hearts and its roots. Answer: A Master is stated that had 6 Aprendices in which 5 of them received the Tome of Profecy and the Union Keyblades, these have animal head crafted on it representing their respective Union (and these 5 Keyblade have Blue Eye Sigil found in Riku's Keyblade, Vanitas, Xehanort, adepts of darkness) , with the purpose of saving the Light from the darkness. The keyblades were made by mankind in image of the original X-Blade that lies inside Kingdom Hearts. Also, there are many theories that points Xehanort as the Sixth aprendice, since his name anagram can mean "No Heart" as well as "Another" and his Keyblade has patterns very similars to the Union Keyblades, having a Baphomet head on it. He - The Another Aprendice - didn't recevied the Tome of Profecy; by deduction, he was not fit to save the light or he was adept of the Darkness. ------------------------------------ ''Actually you are forgetting that it is quite possible to obtain the ability through training as proven by Lea getting the ability to wield a keyblade + obtaining his own unique keyblade through Master Yen Sid's training'' Did you know that Yen Sid was an ex-Keyblade User? he could had performed the Inheriting Cerimony on King Mickey and in Lea. -I believe Nomura is a Genious but creating something from nothing like the Time Travel is just one topic hugely discussed and considered to many of us Theory Crafters a mistake and very unexplained, just happened, just like magic. Most happenings in the game could be predicted cuz he has this way of giving hints and fragments through the storyline to explain latter on.
@Jghost11

scatherer ok thanks for the refresher on The 6 apprentices I read about that storyline a while back. anyways, Yes you are definitely right about Master Yen Sid being an exKeyblade wielder and possibly perfoming the ceremony on Lea but (I think, not 100% sure, that in BBS he touch/picked up Ven's Keyblade when/after they fought, I think he says that one day he would like on of them and then goes "nah I'll keep these".

***** Riku lost the Kingdom Key (a Keyblade of the Light Realm) cuz he gave up to the Darkness and received the Way to the Dawn (a Keyblade from the Inbetween Realm) after trying to find a balance inside. Power is not in question, i believe, but the conections and feelings are the requirement to use the Keyblades of Light. Yet again, comes Kingdom Key-D of Mickey and bursts off my theory /o/
@HassanKhadair
@HassanKhadair 10 лет назад
I thought the ceremony of inheritance was basically giving your keyblade to your successor. Yensid gave star seeker to Mickey and Mickey got kingdom key D in the real of darkness(Mickey can potentially duel weild). Aqua got master eraqas' keyblade and kairi got Aquas. Riku has his own keyblade (evolved form of souleater his sword. It is never explicitly said how his sword became a keyblade). Sora uses Ventus(From ven resting in his heart) and Terra's(from when riku became unworthy of the key and it chose sora) keyblade. When Ven and Terra return in KH3 how is Sora going to have a keyblade.

I reckon that he becomes some sort of chosen wielder for the X-Blade. Or that his friends literally become his power and he uses and ultimate drive form consisting of all characters and fusing all keyblades in the keyblade graveyard. But that would be too awesome.
@scatherer
@scatherer 10 лет назад
Affirmating this, you would say that Sora will conquer Kingdom Hearts, since the original X-Blade is inside KH. He would need to master the power of each Keyblade Wielder in the Keyblade Graveyard, the power to scatter the light of the worlds and separating them all That would be WAY too ovepower

+zeforon1000 I believe Sora may keep his Keyblade wielding abilities, since he willingly accepted Ven's heart into his. It would be earth shattering if Sora lost his Keyblade after all that he has been through. Another idea just popped into my head. Could Keyblades represent the strength of the user's heart/ will that could either guided by the light/darkness? So many different questions and so little time lol :)

I think Sora will lose the ability to wield the keyblade once Riku's heart returns to the light. Meaning he will have to do the same thing Lea did with master Yensid in DDD, which in turn would meaning Sora will create his own keyblade in Kingdom Hearts 3.

Matt Goggin huh? dude, Master Yen Sid was an Ex Keyblade Master, he could had performed it in King Mickey and in Lea :v Kairi got from Aqua when she touched her Keyblade in radiant garden Sora got from Riku in Hollow Bastion in KH1. This time it was already his.

@scatherer
@scatherer 10 лет назад
Kyle X The action of *touching the keyblade* at the same time is one of the ways to obtain the Keyblade (Inheriting Cerimony) As for Sora case in KH1, he touched Riku's Light when Riku's Darkness engulfed Destiny Islands. This way, the Kingdom Key, a Keyblade of the *Light Realm*, had chosen Sora as its Wielder, since Riku gave in to the Darkness. In Hollow Bastion, the Keyblade had chosen Sora as its definitive Keyblade Wielder because his heart was strong enough to be chosen. (by Strong i mean that his Light had grown up with his friendships ''my friends are my power'')

I like how people think you will lose your keyblade. I'm a pretty hardcore fan cause I have your kingdom key hanging on my wall. Of course you won't lose it. Donald, Goofy,Kairi,Riku,and so forth are the people who give you the power. And, in kingdom hearts 1, the kingdom key choose you instead of Riku, so the kingdom key is your personal key. (And I know your not the real Sora)

It's entirely possible that this is where Coded's story arc comes into play in a big way. Coded, and it's remaster Re:Coded, are admittedly contrasted to how the series goes. It hasn't presently tied into anything significant so far, and honestly is fairly isolated. But Nomura tied it into the main story in a vague but big way by adding two scenes in 2.5. The scene with Maleficent and Pete, and the cryptic talk between Y.Xehanort and Xigbar/Braig. One of the defining moments of Coded's story was that Data-Sora's fabricated keyblade was destroyed by Maleficent, broken down to bits of data and that left Data-Sora helpless for a short while. But, because of Data-Sora's powerful desire to help his friends Donald and Goofy, he somehow manifests a keyblade that's his own, effectively becoming a wielder in his own right. No hacking, no heart-sharing trickery, and no ceremony. Even Mickey, a seasoned Keyblade Master, admitted this. So isn't it possible that this could tie into this very issue somehow? And let's not forget Ansem the Wise's "data" he stashed inside Sora while he slept. Only Ansem and Riku know about it, and as far as can be believed, Ansem's the only one who knows just what it's importance is. It's all too easy to believe that Data-Sora's keyblade could be given directly to Sora, or perhaps the same process of creating a keyblade could happen to the real Sora. Or Square Enix will throw us for a loop. Again.

You forget what you mentioned towards the beginning of the video. The Kingdom Key eventually CHOSE him as the official wielder. Given this bond with the Kingdom Key, it is his. However, the dual wielding factor will probably be taken away, as it does stem from the fact that he holds Ventus's heart within himself, and he does eventually have to give it back. Though that story arc with gaining a keyblade of his own does sound very interesting, it probably won't happen.

@HMK. Sorry to say, but I Desagree whit your theory. my theory is this: Ventus = Conected whit somebody ( Baby Sora ). Ventus + Darkness Ripped out of him + Conected whit the unknown person "Baby Sora" ( It ripped the uknown person's "Sora's" Darkness too ) = Vanitas ( By the conection whit Ventus, It took the look of an older Sora. ) Ventus ( Half Heart "Damage" ) + Returned Conection whit Baby Sora + Sora giving a bit of his ligth to Ventus = Ventus Heart was Reformed. Overall: Ventus holds half of Sora's Powers ( Ligth ) + Vanitas holds other half of Sora's Power ( Darkness ). Ventus ( Half of Sora's Ligth ) + Vanitas ( Sora's Darkness ) = The X Blade. The X Blade shows two Kigndom Keys, Not Ventus or Vanitas Keblades, cuz stated in KH2 Sora is the Key that conect to Kingdom Hearts, therefall the X Blade didnt belong to Ventus nor Vanitas like all the Fans overview them for, but The X Blade really belongs to Sora. Ventus ( Heart Destroyed by Defeating Vanitas + The X Blade ) + Sora letting Ventus Heart to Sleep inside of him = Ventus Start Recuperating. The Keyblade was gana go to Riku + Riku turns to Darkness + The Keyblade chose Sora as his Master = Sora's Kingdom Key is Born. Sora ( Having Ventus & Kairi's Hearts inside him ) + The Key to Open Hearts = The Creation of the two Nobodies that are: Roxas = took Ventus look by Ventus heart bieng inside Sora. Namine = when Kairi's heart returned to her. + Sora's & Kairi's Memories + Mix = Xion. PS. Xion is not a creation by ORG13, the Organisation Lie to her & to other. ---- If Ventus Awakes: Sora is not gana lose his Keyblade cuz it his, Not Ventus. Roxas will Not desapear cuz Roxas & Ventus are two diferents persons ( Beings, more simple, think about this way, Sora & Roxas are the sane person whit diferenr Personslites, the same whit Xion. well thats all, thats ny Theory. Hope you Like It.

I'm sure this has been said already by several people in the comments, but just to clarify in the end Sora will still have a keyblade even if Ventus awakens. Yes, the Kingdom Key was originally meant for Riku but since he fell to the influence of darkness it simply moved down the list. Later on, Riku reclaimed possession of the keyblade, only to lose it for good at Hollow Bastion when Sora proved with his statement of his friends being his power that the Kingdom Key decided that Sora was the more deserving wielder. For those who simply think that Sora was just simply handed the keyblade, that in itself proves his worth as one.Also, keep in mind that Riku did not reclaim possession of what was supposed to be his keyblade at the end of Kingdom Hearts II. To clarify, Riku could still wield the keyblade as we see him wielding Roxas' Oblivion against Neoshadows in Days but due to him succumbing to the darkness he didn't have one of his own. After spending the better half of a year atoning for his actions the keyblade finally decided he was worthy of his own keyblade, thus resulting in the Soul Eater sowrd he carried around serving as the base for the Way to the Dawn.For those of you who think that Sora only has one keyblade in 3D and is just using Ventus' keyblade, that assumption is incorrect. Yes, Tetsuya Nomura confirmed in an interview that it's possible for Sora to dual-wield without Drive Forms, but keep in mind it's likely Sora doesn't know how to do this in base form, likely thinking that Dual-Wielding was a special ability granted to him by the new treads he wears in KH2. The reason we don't see him dual-wield in KH3D is likely because while he may have the potential, he doesn't know how to dual-wield outside of Drive Forms.I hope this rather lengthy comments explains a bit.

theoretically its can still be possible for Sora to dual-weld if Sora's Heart and Ventus's Heart even when sepret have a strong connection. i've had this idea for a while, its kinda like a more evolved form of D-Link from Birth By Sleep i call it X-Link (or Key-Link)
@jessdavis3219
@jessdavis3219 9 лет назад
Sora actually got the power from Riku, because Sora has the ability to bond with and mend hearts-as stated many times throughout the ENTIRE series. In the first game when Riku was succumbing to the darkness, you see Riku and Sora's hand touch before being swept away, and that allowed Sora to bond with the light still in Riku's heart, and that itself is what gave Sora the power to hold the Keyblade without it returning to its chosen weilder. But Sora still needed to prove he was strong enough to wield the Keyblade because as stated he didn't go through the Keyblade ritual of handing down the power. He proves himself later in Kingdom Hearts which is why the Keyblade how's back to Sora, now his own Keyblade.
@jessdavis3219
@jessdavis3219 9 лет назад
Basically what I'm trying to say is, Sora is a true Keyblade wielder because in reality, Riku passed the power to Sora when Sora bonds with Riku's light, which took the place of the Keyblade ritual of handing down.

To everyone saying what keyblade is sora going to use if the original 3 come back, look at the keyblade he found at the beginning of the trailer -_- come on people its right there. Thats his new keyblade. And to everyone blindly screaming he'll lose the ability to wield one, remember the ceremony. All you have to do is *Touch* a keyblade. Sora's been holding/swinging/throwing/grabbing/hurling/ the keyblade. Basically touching it. So think about it.

I would like to have Sora's keyblade to be the oathkeeper. It just feels right that, that blade in paticular represents Sora more so than anyother especially since it was Kairi who gave Sora the attachent to transform the keyblade into that form, maybe it's just me. In terms this would mean he would lose his ability to weild keyblade for a portion of the game. My theory is Sora will lose the ability to wield a blade once Ventus is set free in which case Xehanort would take advantage of that situation creating a twist in the game for the player.

I feel that through his actions and strong heart Sora has shown that even though he wasn't chosen to wield the Keyblade originally he was able to defy destiny and come into possession of and wield the Keyblade. This being stated I feel as though he will keep his keyblade. And notice I said his. I feel as though the Kingdom Key is merely a dormant form for what Sora's keyblade truly is. I feel like at some point during Kingdom Hearts 3 Sora's keyblade will take its "True" True form. Whether this is the key to return people's hearts or not is up in the air. But I feel as though Sora will truly be recognized as a true chosen one of the Keyblade.

You sort of ruled out the fact of him losing the ability to wield at all, basically the kingdom key chose him, I mean with the history of the keyblade to be considered at one point there wasn't any ritual to pass them down, they just went to the strongest of heart (whether it was good or evil), then after some time wielders figured out that they could pass down the power.

Ok I see where your coming from ***** I am just arguing it in reverse, Since a keyblade chose him, he wouldn't lose the ability. Like you said about Sora losing access to a second keyblade for duel wielding because of his separation from Ven totally agree. Remember that while undergoing a Keyblade Inheritance Ceremony will give someone the ability to use the Keyblade, the Keyblade can also choose for itself which wielder is more worthy of it based on how strong that person's heart and resolve is. While Sora wasn't originally meant to use the Keyblade, he proved his worth when he was willing to go forward and battle the darkness. Riku lost the Kingdom Key because his heart had grown weak due to subjecting himself to Maleficent's manipulations. Once he learned to overcome his fears of the darkness inside him and choose to live a being that exists between darkness and light, he regained the ability to use the Keyblade.

I just noticed. Look at the negative space of the end of the kingdom key, then look at Sora's pendant. Sora's pendant and the end of the kingdom key fit perfectly together. Thinking back to your Kingdom Hearts and Sora's soul theory, it would make sense that Sora's true blade is the kingdom key. Sora could be the physical manifestation of Kingdom Hearts, meaning his wielding of the kingdom key would make sense.

While its true that having Ven's heart in him does give Sora the ability to use Ven's Keyblade along with the Kingdom Key, Sora didn't gain that ability until after Roxas returned to Sora's heart. Originally, Roxas was only able to use the Kingdom Key too, however during the events of 385/2 Days, Xemnas used the leaking memories from Sora's heart to form a clone of Sora in the form of XIon. Since Sora was still carrying Ven's heart at the time, Xion, due to absorbing both their memories, was able to use Ven's Keyblade while Roxas used Sora's. After Xion returned to Sora, the memories from Ven's heart enabled Roxas to use two keyblades. Once Sora was a complete person again, he got access to Ven Keyblade and his own.

The Inheritance Ceremony is just a formality, much like the MoM exam. It's the Keyblade itself that makes the call. That's why Kairi can wield even though Aqua never intended to perform the Ceremony on her. It was just an accident, Kairi touched Aquas Keyblade when hiding behind her and the Keyblade was like "hey I like this girl" so she can wield even though she was never officially chosen by a previous wielder either.

Of course not... If you can sum up a video with "no." then why even make it? Sora HAS used the Keyblade without Ven's heart. Are you forgetting that he was a Heartless all the way from KH1 Hollow Bastion to the start of KH2? Roxas took Ven's heart with him when he was formed, then lost his Keyblade in Days when Xion siphoned away Ven's heart. That means that all the way through Chain of Memories, Sora only had his own heart and his own Keyblade. Even if Sora were to 'lose' his Keyblade, where would it go? Riku has a new one of his own and the Kingdom Key isn't the default form of Ven's Keyblade. I see the inheritance ceremony as making the worlds aware of a potential Keyblade wielder rather than an outright requirement for it. The Kingdom Key's original owner, Riku, chose darkness when it was time for it to appear, so it chose the next strongest heart in the area, Sora. Later he proved the strength of his heart and it stayed with him. I see no reason why it would leave him just because he lost access to Ven's heart. There's any number of cherry-picked excuses one could come up with to justify Sora 'losing' his Keyblade, but the same can be done to argue against it. As seen with Kairi, the inheritance ceremony is as simple as touching another person's Keyblade, and Sora does that every time he dual wields as well as during the finale of KH2 where he takes Riku's. There, there's your ceremony.

I think he should still dual wielding, it was a really fun and cool feature in KH 2 with the drive forms. Plus come on I think you can let it slide, Sora was able to earn his keyblade maybe he could be able to unlock another one. It's unlikely that Sora's keyblade will change to his style because it's the kingdom key and it's chose Sora (after Riku) to be it's wielder. The kingdom key is not a normal keyblade it looks very similar to king mickey's keyblade. This is just my opinion. :)

I remember that in Hollow Baston, Sora gets the Keyblade back by saying "My friends are my power". Which, if you played Birth By Sleep, know that's exactly what Ventus said. I think its possible that the reason Sora won the Keyblade back from Riku is b/c the Keyblade reacted to those words. I'm not sure if it was the Keyblade responding to the heart of its master (Ven, since he originally said that). Or if it choose Sora in that moment b/c he and Ven carried similar principals. Depending on which of these theories is right, In my opinion 1 these things will happen: 1: Sora has already been granted the power of the Kindom Keyblade by Ventus himself, since the two share a close bond. (Remember, you dont actually have to be a certified master to give someone the power of the Keyblade: like Terra did for Riku, and Riku did for Kairi). So he will not lose that Keyblade. 2: Sora will lose the abilities of both the Keyblades after Ventus wakes up. (due to the fact that his abilities come solely from Ventus). If this scenario happens then the mostly likely thing that will happen next, is that one of Sora's friends will probably give him the power of the Keyblade again. (most likely Ven or Riku). After that, Sora will have a new type of Keyblade like he mentioned in the video. But this is all just a theory, nothing more. :) Anyhow, i'm really excited to find out whats going to happen! :D

One thing you are missing: Sora's Keyblade isn't only Ven's key, but also Vanitas'. This is exactly why Kingdom Key has the form of the twin keyblades shown in the x-blade, and Nomura probably put them there as a hint. I think it's much more possible that Sora upgrades from the Kingdom Key to the actual x-blade-- Either for Xehanort's plans fortune or failure.

I think the entirety of the first game was Sora's Inheritance Ceremony. And the many worlds he traveled to and saved proved that he was worthy of wielding a Keyblade. So that's why the Kingdom Key chose him when he faced Riku in Hollow Bastion. Plus, I don't really think that Kingdom Key truly belongs to anyone. It's just a random Keyblade that appears to anyone who needs it when they need prove themselves worthy of wielding one.

My theory is that the Kingdom Keys choose their masters not by inheritance or any already theorized method, but simply because of the traits shown by the wielders. The Kingdom Key L chose Sora in the end over Riku, therefore that is Sora's keyblade. This may also be what prevents Sora from becoming a Keyblade Master, because there must always be a wielder of each Kingdom Key, even though the Kingdom Key is its own blade, not one bound to a single wielder's heart. However, Sora does have his own Keyblade, Oathkeeper. My reasons for stating this are that Roxas was able to wield it, and as Sora's nobody he should have been able to wield Sora's Keyblade. Also, it has the charm Kairi gave to Sora on its keychain, something of great significance in Sora's life. If Sora were to lose the Kingdom Key, then he would go on to wield Oathkeeper.

I mostly agree with him getting his own after ven wakes up. between the weird stuff with him and kairi's hearts and him and ven's hearts, and the way he's been honorably protecting the worlds, there's no way he can just lose his abilities. and if he does, well isn't there like 10 people that can grant him that ability.if he some how loses it, he'll just simply get it back.

Here are two of my theories of what will happen. I'm not saying they will, but they could. The first one is that he could lose his Sync Blade at first, but through sheer force of will, become able to use Ven's Keyblade again. This idea is possible because as we know from when Sora fought Roxas, one Keyblade can exist in multiple locations at once. There's also the possibility that instead of Ven's Keyblade, it could be a secondary Keyblade made from his Darkness, mirroring his Kingdom Key which was made from Light. The other is that he will lose both Keyblades, but as he begins to feel helpless being unable to help his friends, his vision goes black and he begins to see the X-Blade and reaches out for it, and as he grabs it, it appears in his hand in the real world. 'Course, I only used the X-Blade because of your own theory that Sora is Kingdom Hearts, but it could be a different Keyblade. But I can also understand if they do something else entirely. After all, these are just two ideas of what could happen. (BUT I DON'T WANT HIM TO BE FOREVER WITHOUT A KEYBLADE T_T) Edit: Come to think of it, I just realized something. I did this in my fanfic, but they could make it that he simply just doesn't lose either Keyblade. After all, like I said above, the same one Keyblade can exist in multiple locations at once, so why not make them exist in multiple hearts at once, too?

I don't think Sora could ever truly lose his ability to wield a key-blade at this point. Maybe he'll lose the Kingdom Key, but like you said in that second hypothesis, he'll probably then acquire a whole new key-blade of his own, the same way Riku did! Sora's been through so much with the key-blade, the ability to wield one has been ingrained into his very being! He's the main hero of the series! They'd never take away his key-blade powers completely!

The first thing that came to my mind was the voice that said to Sora, "You are the one who will open the door." How is he going to open it without his Keyblade? And no, it wasn't talking about the door in the first game because Sora was closing it instead of opening it.

That a very good question. Here's another thought to chew on. Maybe after Ventus wakes up Sora loses the ability to wield keyblades. I really doubt Sora will completely lose the kyblade, in theory it's possible but it would just feel wrong... I see his strong heart and strong connection to his friends and other keyblade wielders reason enough to why je should be able to have his own keyblade :D Now when it comes dual wielding it only makes sense that he will lose this ability after Ventus wakes up... But to be honest I felt that this was SUCH a good feature in KH 2 that they won't just strip it from him completely :) Maybe a system where he can link with a selected keyblade wielder and use their keyblade as well for a while? I think it would be a shame to have it removed entirely. Quick question... So the additional keyblade in KH2 is ventus'? Or is it the one he "earned" after proving he had a strong heart in KH 1?

My personal theory on this is he'll only be able to use his own. He will still have drives, and the twin guns are a simple transformation like the gliders and armor. I believe it's not only a weapon but the heart's needs itself. Based on how it gains the powers from the heart. I also think Xion's armor is actually going to be Sora's, based on how she is a clone (thus does not have her own abilities to my knowledge) so that means she drained that armored form from Roxas\Sora. I also think Kingdom Key chose him. It's his. While yes it's "boring" I feel it fits him. He's a ordinary boy, with an extraordinary heart. Thus he has an ordinary keyblade with an extraordinary power. It's clear the Kingdom Key has hidden power, notice how both the X-Blade and Ventus' blade copy it? It's not only a symbol of his connection to Ven. But also Sora's feelings for people "simple and clean". His keyblade is connected to him. Because he is the key that connects everyone. This could go on a little longer, but it sorta goes off topic to my other theroy of Sora becoming Radiant Garden's next king. Not really sure if people even want to hear that.

My thoughts on this. So first off I do not think Riku would have been given the kingdom key, what he would have gotten I am not sure but since he was more lined with darkness he would have gotten a keyblade that would match. And the kingdom key is one of light, and Micky already had the Dark version of the kingdom key. I'm not sure what Riku's original keyblade would be if Sora wasn't there but I don't think it would have been the kingdom key.Now for the reason the kingdom key went form Sora to Riku later into the game was for two reasons. One as stated in the video and what happened in BBS, Riku was meant to be a keyblade holder because of the ceremony. Giving him the right to hold a keyblade that the kingdom key could sense. The other reason was that Sora had a short moment of weakness in his heart, making his keyblade go to the next best thing being Riku at the time before Sora got his "mojo" back and took back the kingdom key. So that's my thought and understanding of what was going on with that. Moving on to if Sora was really going to losing the kingdom key, then one way would be if Ven wakes up or is awake but dose not have the keyblade from his time in BBS in where the kingdom key will possibly jump to Ven once or if Sora and Ven meet. If that is the case, I think Sora will end up taking up Master Eraqus Keyblade since it would need a new holder, and since it didn't vanish out of Sora's hand in the trailer that could be a possibly.

I think, even though he was never GIVEN a Keyblade, he will still keep it. Maybe the Keyblade came to Sora because of Ven's heart, but when Sora first touched the Kingdom Key an Inheritance Ceremony similar to Kairi's in BBS -- it happened because she had the potential to wield and touched a Keyblade. My opinion is that not just any Heart could literally share itself with another and then continue on completely normally for four years while part of his Heart is Worlds away.

But what about Xion? She was a copy of Roxas, but was not a NATURAL copy, and she was given the ability to wield a Keyblade. Roxas absorbed Xion after defeating her, and therefore can... actually triple wield somehow, and since he is one with Sora, he can do the same. I believe that this means that losing Ven's heart will not take dual-wielding away, thanks to the presence of Xion within Roxas, all inside Sora. And another thing, since in Hollow Bastion in KH1 the keyblade outright chose Sora over Riku, wouldn't that mean that he is now an "official" wielder? I mean, the keyblade chose him to wield it, that means it's his now, right? But wait, if Riku still has it, it couldn't have duplicated. But that's not the same one as before, since Sora's never lost it past that point. Maybe that means it is Ven's? But that would mean that, if Ven were to wake up, and Sora loses that keyblade, he'd only have one from Xion. But Xion is just memories put into a puppet, right? Maybe not? Heres another idea. What if by some crazy turn of events, the part of soras heart that is shared with ventus's is unintentionally stolen, mended and kept by ventus's heart apposed to ventus regaining the entirety of his heart. this in terms leads to sora loosing the ability to weild the keyblade and falling into yet another deep sleep. While his friends are running around trying to fix the problem, the darkness that is already deep inside soras heart begins to spread and mend with soras now fractured heart. This leads to sora having a heart that is made up of half light and half darkness. This strikes the interest of master xehanort who is still using terras body to exploit his plans. With soras heart being half light and half darkness, this is the perfect vessel for master xehanorts plans to seek out a balance of light and darkness throughout the worlds.this would be when the lights could return Terra from master xehanort bringing him back. I'm not sure what would happen after that, maybe he momentarily takes control of sora, this could lead to some playable characters like kairi who would Then house soras heart until they stole back soras body, and riku as a playable character to. What do you thing HMK

Here's an entirely different theory - Ventus's heart is causing a block in the growth of Sora's heart and while it is giving him the power to use synch blade, it is preventing his Kingdom Key from reaching its full potential. It's already been established that Ventus's heart may have been the crutch that allowed Sora to use a keyblade initially, but at the end of KH1 the will of the Kingdom Key eventually chose him over Riku. This resulted in Riku, being a rightful keyblade master to walk the "way to the dawn" to gain his new keyblade. I feel that his Way to the Dawn is closer to fulfilling Terra's will - but i digress... Sora will not only likely keep his own keyblade but it is possible that it could "evolve" into a new form or might actually become the first of its type. Just thinking out loud. I'd love to hear thoughts about this theory :)

I think you're probably right. Sora can't lose the keyblade anymore because in Hollow Bastion the kingdom key directly picked him as it's weilder over Riku who was supposed to get it. The interesting thing about that is Sora is different from every keyblade weilder we have seen up to this point, because unlike those that had the keyblade bestowed on them by another weilder, Sora was picked by the keyblade directly. To speculate a little, the way Sora got his keyblade may be the way they were originally obtained - in a moment of crisis and surrounded by darkness a weapon of light presents itself to one that is strong in heart.

The fact that Sora can dual wield is proof enough that his own Heart is the Heart of a Keyblade wielder. One Heart can only correspond to one Keyblade. When he loses Ventus's Heart, he'll just go back to only being able to wield one. Take notice in scene on Destiny Islands in the first KH game. Sora was touching Riku's hand at the time the Keyblade was suppose to go to him. So he did technically touch the blade

To anyone who thinks Sora will definitely lose the ability to weild the keyblade, you must consider the fact that even Data-Sora, although being somewhat fake, was able to produce the ACTUAL Keyblade. Yeah, he could use the keyblade because of Ventus's heart inside him, but I think there's more to it than that. When it passed to Sora at the beginning of Kh 1 accidentally, it probably could also sense his heart's strength and light. Aqua recognized this and that Sora was worthy, but she deliberately did not pass him the right because she knew Riku had it and felt one was enough between friends. Remember that keyblades choose those that are worthy according to the strength of their heart. To put it another way, if Sora had NOT been worthy whatsoever, because he had a weak heart or whatever, the keyblade would NOT have allowed him to wield it, despite Ventus's heart, because it is Sora wielding it. And when Riku briefly took it back, Sora once and for all time proved himself before their first battle. The keyblade chose him permanently at that point not because of Ventus, but because of the strength of his heart. That strength overrode Riku's right to inheritance, which says a lot actually. So I see absolutely ZERO reason at all why Sora should lose the keyblade just because Ventus's heart leaves him. I mean it wouldn't make any sense. I think there are way better mysteries of the series you could be pondering about instead of this pointless hypothesizing, no offense.
@DLOULTRA7

Ok this is what I thought(its a demi theory). Sora revives Ventus and does lose his ability to wield the keyblade temporarily given the fact Ventus was just revived. With that, Sora is still granted a weapon... The Dream Sword. He is able to use the dream weapons in KH1 until they go bring Aqua back and she does the ceremony so he can retrive his lost ability. Now before and during all this Sora needs to encounter Vanitas. Near the beginning, before they revive Ventus(and battle) and after his keyblade is restored and they go fight Vanitas at the keyblade graveyard. Now the second time he encounters Vanitas and fights him I think his keyblade should break due to the first encounter in some way Sora loses his confidence. So when his Keyblade breaks he revives Ventus, uses the dream items, gets Aqua back, have his own keyblade specially made, fights Vanitas but doesn't defeat him but convinces him to become one and takes his heart, then Sora is able to use X-Blade at the end and dual-wield because Vanitas I assume became his own person and is of pure darkness while Sora is pure light.

Sora only gained the power to use dual keyblades because of ventus hearts but the second keyblade (ventus) its not Sora´s keyblade... Here's my thought, Sora will still be able to duel wield, not because of ven's heart, but because he will also obtain his own keyblade, we already know that when ven comes back that his keyblade will go back to him, but the kingdom key, which was technically terra's, will not go back to terra, we know this because in kh2fm there was a boss after xemnas, this boss was terra, and terra already had a keyblade while you fought him. If you disagree with that, then i have another theory. Sora will continue to be able to duel wield, because he will have either terra's or ven;s, meaning that he only has one for a while, but he will either get chosen by one that was meant for him, or maybe he will find the keyblade graveyard, and activate a "sleeping" keyblade that will then become his. And hell, if both ven's and terra's keyblades go back to them, then maybe he will awaken two keyblades, meaning that he can still duelwield.... btw please, someone agree with me that if there are drive forms, the final drive should turn you into duelwielding roxas, or maybe roxas will be the "antiform" of kh3

I personally think that it falls more along the lines that he will probably lose dual wield, but ultimately not the keyblade itself. I think the merging. and subsequent harboring, of Ven's heart acted as a pseudo "inheritance ceremony" granting Sora the ability to wield the keyblade. However, once Ven wakes up and regains his heart from Sora, that will be lost to Sora. At that point, they will perform the official ceremony recognizing everything that Sora has done for the worlds and Master Aqua, Terra, and Ven at that point proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that Sora is worthy to wield it. He may not be a keyblade master yet, but he would definitely be recognized as being worthy to wield it at least.

I know the Kingdom Key is Sora's keyblade, but Sora said that the Keyblade itself didn't choose him, so when he wakes Ven up, even though Sora has it, he won't be able to use it. Let's think of Ven's heart being armor for Sora to enhance his strength and thus his ability to use one. Say you want to use a certain magic weapon like a sword, bow or axe in a Western RPG, Dragon Age, Fable, what have you, if your stats don't meet the requirements like certain magic, dexterity, strength, or what have you, if you have an accessory or a piece of armor to help you use that weapon, what would your first instinct be? equipping said ability enhancer (accessory, armor, again whatever) so you can use that weapon. I personally think Sora should have another keyblade that was meant for him like Riku's Way to the Dawn, because it would mean that Sora won't be running on borrowed power; he'll finally have a Keyblade that was meant solely for him .

I highly doubt it because like you said the keyblade CHOSE Sora when he confronted Riku at Hallow Bastion. Also they explained in the second game that the clothes gave him the power to dual wield so unless there was a part I missed that said otherwise, he should still be able to use two when using a drive.

When Ventus wakes up and Sora loses his keyblade, Ventus can do the ceremony to Sora so he can have his own true keyblde.

Someone did make a good point referencing how in the battle with xemnas, at least in DDD, sora touched riku's keyblade much how kairi touched aqua's. Idk if the cgi is canon but it's a good, clear example. Otherwise, it seems more and more people can acquire keyblades by other means (Lea/Axle, for example at end of 3D) so if it's lost, Sora just gotta do what Lea did to get his own.

My theory: Sora loses the Keyblade when Ventus is released. Everyone else fights in the Keyblade war. Riku gets seriously wounded in battle (most likely by Xemmas), grants his heart/wielding ability to Sora, and then Riku dies. This would work because Sora has always looked up to Riku, and Riku sees the potential in Sora.

Maybe he'll still be able to Weill it. He's come into contact with the keyblade for so long that he'll keep the kingdom key as his own keyblade. The way I see it, sora has proven multiple times that he understands the keyblade and his role

"Sora never underwent the inheritance ceremony" 1: By ceremony we mean 'hold my keyblade' (adventure!) 2: Terra wasn't a master, was never claimed master, yet he was able to pass it down to Riku 3: Kairi touched, *touched* Aquas keyblade and somehow gained the power. *Aqua never passed the power down to anyone!!!!* not on purpose . . . this keyblade "ceremony" needs some goddamn safe locks or something! (seriously though, i love KH but god it has a million holes)

I believe there is a connection to the hearts of the ones that passes the keblade to another, like terra and riku or aqua and kairi. If the connection of there hearts to each other is the process the keblade is passed down by, then sora's connection to ventus would be the strongest having housed his heart for so long. This would imply the sora did inherit the keblade or will when ventus has the chance to really pass it on to him. As for dual keyblades, roxas developed hiss own heart and is waiting for sora to bring him back, thus the link between nobody and the real thing may allow them to use each others keyblades at times.

I agree on that Sora got the ability to wield a keblade when he accepted Ventus heart into his own. But I think that Sora have been chosen by the Realm of Light itself to wield the keyblade, after he saved the princesses of heart in Hollow Bastion, because Ventus heart was taken out of Sora and into Roxas when he stabbed himself. So that would have meant Sora lost the ability to wield the keyblade, but he did not, so Sora was chosen by the Realm of Light, or maybe even Kingdom Hearts, (or else it's just Nomura logic, none of us can understand). Sorry about my bad english. :-D

Think about this... what if sora was always ment to weild the keyblade. [e.g. in kindom hearts, sora had used the keyblade given to riku by maleficent, to unlock kari's heart which in turn could have also unlocked ventas' heart returing him to his original body.] Throughout the series sora had been blind to the fact that he has another heart inside of him until dream drop distance which leaves a gap in the theory. Sora may have been chosen by the Kingdom Key of light due to the large sacrifice he had made to keep ventas' heart safe but never really knew because if it is true that sora had never really "earned" they keyblade, would he have not instead "borrowed" ventas' keyblade the whole time? Its something to really think about honestly because if you recall, each keyblade weilder obtains a special keyblade of their own, Sora has the Kingdom Key of Light while Ventas has the Wayward Wind.

Honestly I think that what's going to happen is (for a fan based reason) when ventus wakes up and sora gains his own keyblade there would be a twist where he would become a heartless again his heart was engulfed by the darkness in the first game in hallow bastion but was able to break free because of kairi but I believe it was also because of ventus' heart that helped him but would be able to still wield it. (Basically another riku scenario without sora falling for anyone's bs and letting the darkness consume him completely) that would give ansem (or whatever was the name of the main protagonist from birth by sleep) another vessel to use. Those are my thoughts on that

Hmk, I feel like sora will lose both keyblades, but ventus will perform the ritual with him allowing sora to have a keyblade. And then, sora's kingdom key, seeing what happened, returns to him, while sora gets a new keyblade. So now, sora can dual eield more easily.

I doubt it if you remember soda actually got the keyblade inheritance ceremony performed in KH2 by Riku without knowing it by Riku in the heat of the final battle. Sora grabbed the keyblade Riku was holding while being attacked by xehanort and in turn had it performed on him unknowingly. Riku did not have to be a master to transfer it seeing how terra was not a master himself when he performed it on Riku. This is overlooked but in some scenes (I believe the CGI) show this scene and the keyblade glow as he made contact with it while Riku held it.

Well I'm hoping that once Sora releases Ventus's heart, he'd lose his Keyblade entirely, now I don't know if this is actually going to happen, it's more of a hope for now. The reason is because this could make an interesting event in the gameplay, where Sora ends up separated from everyone before he could truly be chosen and it's like one of those survival ability loss, trying to survive the horde of Heartess/whatever enemy the game throws at you, until you can find your friends again. Although, I think that once Sora regains his ability to use the Keyblade he should still be able to duel wield, it'd be a shame to have that ability in one game but then loses it entirely in the other. Perhaps because of what he's done before, his heart and soul allows him to still duel wields, again, this is very unlikely and may not happen, but I'm hoping.
