Star Wars is 100% now a trash franchise moving forward until it’s back in the hands of someone who isn’t focused on DEI. Until then I will not watch any content produced.
I was 7 in 1977, I saw STAR WARS in a sold-out theater. I can't completely explain this, but you could literally feel the joy this movie brought to everyone in that theater. It's like we all experienced something magical. I miss that so much!
@@lookingforwookiecopilot Somehow, I doubt it was quite as intense is the first one. Not when 1977 star wars had fans coming back for 2nd, 3rd, 10 more viewings. But hey, I'm sure that first viewing of TFA was a blast.
@@DocMicrowave TFA is the second highest grossing Star Wars movie. So, it seems like plenty of fans went back for more viewings. I myself saw it three times.
@@lookingforwookiecopilot I stand corrected. By the numbers it is the second highest grossing SW movie. However, I don't think it's financial 'success' equates to the same fame ANH garnered. First off, I think TFA benefits from a 10 year gap of no Star Wars movies. Fans were eager to go back to see what Star Wars had to offer. (I think it was a similar effect for Captain Marvel. Fans eager to see where the franchise was going.) Thanks to some well placed nostalgia bits in promotion, fans came in droves to see TFA. But I doubt many went back for multiple viewings. TFA had a huge open but flattened out far quicker than ANH which continued it meteoric rise over many months. You may have seen it 3 times. Not sure there are many others that got that far. You could also consider ANH started the franchise from scratch. While TFA was just trying to ride its coat tails. When the movies overall runs are compared, TFA flattened out after about 60 days. While ANH continued to rise well after 6 months out. Even ESB and RTJ had better legs than ANH, going out to over 100 days. Seems to me the first trilogy had far more rewatches than the current trilogy, where all three lost their legs after 60 days. That's all I was trying to say.
Back then, everyone in line to see the film was included. You had people of every background and culture, whole families, dates... but now, Diversity and Inclusion doesn't include me or you. It feels like a slap in the face. Disney+ only produces activism now. You're right, these movies were such escapist JOY... and it was sad to see it go down hill. The Last Jedi made it so, if you look at the net accomplishments of Luke, Han, and Leia, the galaxy would've ended up better off if Vader and the Emperor had won in the Original Trilogy. Luke hid off on safe-space island while his only nephew and only surviving student helped kill trillions. Just disgusting.
Disney has actively made me not a Star Wars fan, it’s tainted it to the point, that I don’t even want to watch or remember the last time I watched the original trilogy
All I really want in the new movie is the Millennium Falcon and boobs. However, given that when we finally got nudity in South Park (just like when we finally got nudity in The Simpsons) it was a penis, I'm not getting my hopes up too far, 😅😢 As for Rise of Skywalker? That movie is a lot like Return of the Jedi. It has a cool intro and a great duel, but you can skip everything else. 🤣🤣🥴
Rest assured, Disney will tank with this tired approach to ‘Star Wars.’ Wake me up when they (and Hollywood in general) get back to making “four quadrant films.” People want to see entertaining films that attract young and old, male and female.

Why is it that every franchise that was more geared towards males in the past has to change? Nobody ever says that we need to take this franchise or whatever with a bigger female fanbase and let's change it to pull in a bigger male audience. For F sakes, we couldn't even an Indy movie without an annoying British girl boss.

They should make a Rose Tico spin-off film where it’s set after the the events of Rise Of Skywalker and exploring her origins and Lucasfilm should get Raia Gosnell to direct
If they do a Rose Tico trilogy, I can only hope that a LGBTQIA+ woman of color will direct, because I don't care about characters or story, I just care that qualified people are passed over in favor of unqualified people for the sake of DEI.
The good news about the new Rey movie is that your content will be better than the movie, and you'll get a lot of clicks and ads because we're all coming to channels like this rather than paying to take our date or family to the theater to see this garbage.
I'm 25 I grew up with the original trilogy and Force Awakens was my first Star Wars movie in theaters. How depressing. The really dropped the ball with every Disney movie. I remember when I freaked out about new movies being announced and now I'm embarrassed to say that.

You've been saying that most movies branded "woke" are not woke, but can you say that Disney hasn't gone full woke? Why do I have to listen to "it's about time" (unironically 😀) for the 100th time? I don't give a fuck about women. Or men. These are movies, they should either fully be about political / racial issues (eg. Moon Killers), or have no virtue signaling in them. Channels like Geeks and Gamers might seem funny and petty, but most of the stuff they point out is accurate, the Hollywood hollier-than-thou messaging is boring and can almost destroy a good move (The Batman).
Exactly, Geeks and Gamers, Nerdrotic and others can go overboard at times but they're still about 90% correct about Hollywood and the big studios especially Disney.
