I LOVE that you showed the problem and a potential DIY solution /refurbishment instead of just trying to sell a new part. MUCH cred points earned! Thanks. It's refreshing to see this combination of not just a DIY solution but also the high quality yet concise (to the point) videos that 1A auto does - they are sorely lacking on many shade tree mechanic produced videos. One tip - when putting dielectric grease on, especially on an older vehicle, it helps to also put a "little" on that yellow/orange silicone gasket around the plug (as seen at 10:14), not only seals better but plugs back in easier too.
Great video. I have an '84 S-10 Sport that has non-functioning wipers. I hope this video helps me out. If not it's still great to see 1A Auto suggest a ' free ' repair before loading up the parts cannon.
Now THIS is a good repair video! I had purchased the replacement part because my wipers weren't functioning on intermittent in the rain. However, before replacing the board, I tried them on a dry sunny day (after lifting the wiper arms so the blades are off the windshield) and they worked fine! When I removed the cover, I saw the sealant around the cover had broken down - moisture was getting in and of course, THAT'S only going to happen in the rain. So, I checked everything per the video. I only needed to adjust and clean the contacts that touch the gear (and general dirt clean-up). I sealed it back up after cleaning the cover and putting a thin bead of silicone on it. Then I checked its function by running the wipers while spraying the truck with water (I set up a sprinkler so I could walk away - checked it every 10 minutes for an hour). It passed that test - I'll run it in the rain a few times to make sure. I got the part on Amazon, so I have a generous return window. Thanks for awesome explanatory video!

This is the exact problem i found and fixed my radio sound and door chime problem, and also the seal above the cabin air filter had came loose letting rain get thru to the floor. Thankyou for this cure.😊
Most excellent video!!! Just bought a 97 and I have this very issue! I played "Dr It'll B. Alright" and replaced the circuit board just like you demonstrated in the video and the problem was solved. I suspected it was the circuit board from the start when I got the truck a couple of days ago although I am by no means a mechanic.
Mine totally stopped working and I didn’t have the window squirter before it stopped working then I hit the motor with a hammer and it worked perfect again
Bro this is a life saver because this just started happening to my 2002 chevy Trailblazer LT. It literally started a month ago. Thanks for this video brother keep doing what your doing. 🤪🤣🕎🇮🇱✝️🇺🇸❤️
Hey Lynn this is a great video to show people with older vehicles or older trucks in this matter how they can try to fix something themselves instead of spending the outrageous amount for a new circuit board considering the circuit board itself is a little bit hard to find at least not with any trouble. Usually when you find the circuit board it also includes the whole unit motor and everything like you said but this is definitely worth a try. Great video. I have watched several videos and when you're on I know it's going to be a good video. You seem to explain things very easy so normal people can understand. I understand personally all the technicality in repairing vehicles for the most part but I have been doing this and studying repair guides and repair manuals watching videos hands on with actual mechanics but I am not a certified technician but I do like to work on my own vehicles when I need to and it definitely saves a lot of money in labor. I have had other people too tell me that you should be a mechanic and I tell them I cannot without going to school for it. I'm 47 years old and now I have aches and pains just from aging and arthritis so being a mechanic on a day-to-day basis would not be an option for me but that's beside the point. Your videos definitely help out a lot and your cameraman is definitely awesome at getting the shots so you can see pretty much everything that you are talking about. Great job and as always, keep up the great work on your videos for everyone to enjoy and help out. 💯
This video just popped up for me to watch and it was perfect timing as my windshield wipers on my 1990 K3500 Dually just started acting up last night. They stop where they want to, and never where they should, and my sprayer motor just stopped working last night too. Now I know where to start looking for the problem. Thanks.

Mine does complete a full swipe, but always parks in the same (wrong) position. The crank arm splines were worn down and could slip! Pro tip: Canada has lots of snow. Windshield wipers are not the appropriate tool for removing 10 inches of snow.
My mechanic wants diagnosed my vehicle with windshield wiper that won't turn off until after 9~10 wipes, and stops at improper positions on the windshield. He said the windshield wiper needs replacement and said it's $600+ to fix this, assuming including parts and labor. Is that a reasonable cost?
Nice Video thanks. I have a 2003 Chevy Venture van that seems to have similar symptons. What about the Colors of the wires and what they mean? and testing for proper voltage supply. Also if there is a relay invloved. Thanks
great vid man. I've a 07 CRV with the same issue, I happened to disconnect the battery (while replacing sparkplugs) and after reconnecting it, the wipers worked as they should but only for a couple of days only. Any ideas what the issue is?
What if you can hear the wiper motor and the fluid play will work sometimes be stuck down or stuck in the opposition and when it happened here the motor morning just nothing happening
I got a 1994 Chevy Kodiak and I replace pretty much all that stuff but some reason when my wipers are on high or low they work fine but when I turned them off they stay at whatever position I turned them off at they won’t go all the way back down. Wonder what the issue to be
That plastic gear can get chewed up why you did not mention that I have no clue. The PCB would be conformal coated to protect it from moisture, well if its built properly it should be.
I had the same issue with my 2015 Hyundai Veloster, changed out the motor, but now the wiper blades are wiping wrong. I took it off and put it back on the same way. What could be wrong?
die electric grease on the worm gear? that part i disagree with because I would think i would think it is not meant for moving parts like gear,s just electrical connections ,why not regular grease front end type grease or is the die electric grease that good now ?
The problem that I have is the wipers only work at random times in the cold. If I turn on and off the car 2 or 3 times then restart the car, the wipers work fine. Not sure if the motor is going or something else. Anyone have any idea what it could be?
Great socials, great products, WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I'VE EVER HAD! I'm so disappointed. Be weary when you order from these guys. NO LOYALTY TO THE CUSTOMER! They would rather get one order from you and lose your business than make the issue right.
+Shane Kelderman Thank you for your comment! We are sorry to hear that there was an issue with your order and somebody will be reaching out to you shortly to sort it out!
