So today I start my quest to watch the ENITRE Kayfabe Commentary library in chronological order. I will even be re-watching videos the ones I have already watched as I come across them. As an owner of a pro wrestling company (VIP Wrestling in Dallas, TX) and a lifelong comic fan, I love these guys' style, and I, generally, share their opinions. OCD is a bitch. It is June 5, 2022. Let's see how long this takes.

Thanks for the shout-out, guys! And yeah, I was on the SPX board from 1998 through 2014 (including a three-year stint as the executive director, plus multiple years as the Ignatz Awards chair), in addition to writing for CBR, Read About Comics, and iComics for many years. I wrote a bunch of interviews for Wizard until those went in-house (I was always a freelancer) and then some short news pieces as well. It was a fun way to get a little money back from a hobby! (These days I'm still obliquely connected to comics through my work at a very large library in Washington DC, plus a fair amount of reading of course.)

Great first episode - I will say I *DO* cherish my "How To Draw Comics..." - it's beat up, has been used as a table (has the dents in the cover to prove it) - and I got it signed a few years ago by Stan Lee... that book is so pivotal for a lot of people my age, I think (about the same age as both of you) - thanks for adding it to this conversation.

Loved this episode and looking forward to next week's! Thanks, guys! I especially appreciated the Larry Stroman shout-out. I grew up reading comics around the same time, and Stroman's X-Factor stands out in my memory as some of the best artwork in any of the late-80s/early-90s X-titles, and it was perfectly paired with Peter David's writing. I've always felt that he should have been a bigger star, like Liefeld or Silvestri. In my mind, though, Jim Lee will always be the greatest from that era, and my brothers and I also had a few copies of X-Men #1.

Really enjoyed this and man did bring me back. Biggest thing with wizard for 8-13 yr old me was deciding to either get the issue or get another comic. That 10-15 dollars I’d have every few weeks to spend meant I had some hard purchasing choices and if the comic titles weren’t in my wheel house then wizard mag was my fallback. Once they started including the trading cards with them the choice was even harder!

Holy crap. Dragon’s Den is my local shop. They must’ve moved or expanded upstate (now in Poughkeepsie NY) sometime shortly after this. Crazy to see their ad in the first issue of Wizard. They did indeed close for... less than a year I think it was for tax reasons, but recently reopened in a new location under new management. LOVED this first episode! Can’t wait for more. And thanks so much for putting it on iTunes also!!

Dragon's Den was my shop when I went to Sarah Lawrence from 00-04, they were definitely barely doing comics but we could walk to it and I bought all of the Best American Comics hardcovers as they came out there. I was 26 when Wizard came out and my peers laughed at it. I was already dealing in the northeast and doing the Boston and Attleboro shows. I got it since it was a different POV compared to CBG. I gave my entire run to my brothers brother in law and it was about 55 issues. It had a big influence on current buying trends as I recall. Of course for me it was silver age and bronze and Heavy Metal where my interests lay at the time.
