The problem is that Hollywood doesn't have any respect for their fans and probably just as important refuses to treat these brands with the care and respect that a lover of the franchise would. I feel like strong, even progressive messages could be put in these movies if they were done subtlety and with a few different perspectives rather than just making it a lecture.

People liked the idea of Finn being the main jedi character in the force awakens. I remember thats what they sold it as. Then they switched it up and made Rey the Jedi and she is just frankly not a well written character.

The main thing being brought up online with Finn when he was revealed wasn't that he was black, it's that he wasn't polynesian. My knowledge of star wars is mostly limited to the movies and (in my mind at least) it was established in the attack of the clones that all the storm troopers were jango clones. When Finn took his helmet off i distinctly remember forum discussion being he must be a spy or something because the storm troopers are all supposed to be jangos.

I remember I was rooting for Finn since The Force Awakens release. He was the only thing that piqued my interest in the movie because I always see Stormtroopers as soulless cannon fodder for the Empire and his little rebellion changed all that. What they've done to him in the next two films, being sidelined for Rey is just atrocious. 😑

I dont always agree with some of the takes you and the other channels you mentioned have, but, that statement about escapism is beyond true. We play, read, watch to escape the problems of the real world, we dont want real world ideology intruding in what we use to relax and recharge.

The only objections to Finn I'm aware of came from people who thought Stormtroopers will still clones of Jango Fett.

It's been a bit of a blessing really, I've been watching movies that I just missed back in the day (I never saw goodfellas or the godfather for whatever reason), AND I've been reading books again (OLD books that are agenda free). It's been fantastic. I've been continuously pulled in by "next thing" for decades now, so it's good to break the cycle and just step back and enjoy what was produced by FAR superior writers, actors and producers when they took pride in their work (and not just slapped a pride flag on it).

I will always find it sad that Finn did not wind up as the hero. He had so much potential.

This reminds me of the corporate music industry. They don't want to rely on independent artists to create hits. They want a steady stream of corporate consumerism that follows a prescribed script. It can't compete against independent creativity so they crush it with their corporate power. The second problem is the Millennial generation. Compared to the three previous generations it's art is brain dead, intensely boring and unimaginative, thinks that politics is enough to create art. The MCU, Lucasfilms etc are nothing more than shallow, woke porn.

I just started reading Star Wars legends. Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, and the Last Command by Timothy Zahn are infinitely better than anything Disney and Kathleen Kennedy have produced. They are the real episode 7-9.

1. I hate the sequel trilogy. Finn is also my favorite character of the trilogy and my hate for it stems largely from how they treated Finn. 2. People were under the assumption storm troopers were still clones. It wasn’t hate, but rather confusion about what they viewed as a break from canon. Keep in mind, we all loved Jango Fett, who is very much not Caucasian. They didn’t think storm troopers were white to begin with.

That writer is a crayon eater. Fenn was an interesting character that lots of fans liked (in the first movie) then they proceeded to squander his character in later movies when he came off as maybe the main character of the first movie. rae was always a mary sue though. repugnant.

I was so impressed with the short clip the Daily Wire put out about their Snow White. Brett Cooper is perfect for the role and I didn't know she could sing like that.

I totally forgot about Andreas, i used to listen to him many years ago, but i remember a certain rant calling people who didn't liked Rey and Fin racists and said "duck" you. That was the end for me. I'm trying to remember with who he was talking with.

Nobody hates Finn, at least not for his skincolor, except for China. Everybody bemoans and hates the fact that Finn was sidelined and reduced to near comedy relief/stereotypical black sidekick in favor of MaReySue and Rose "strong, independent woman Nr.2" Tico. Finn could have been a great character and the hero of the sequels. An ex-stormtrooper with the force being trust into a gaggle of rebels fighting the First Order and Kylo Ren. They (Disney) just decided the "the Force is female" is the most important thin to concentrate on, giving us such wonderfull characters as Leia Poppins, Admiral Whatshername Purplehair and Rose "whyamIhere" Tico, while destroying every legacy and male character they could find that didn't fit their narrative, like Luke, Han, Poe, Finn, Hux etc. How about this: The New Republic is being attacked by the First Order. They have a huge armada and powerfull weapons. Lead by the mysterious Snooke and his right hand Kylo Ren they sweep across New Republic territory and claim it for the New Empire. Finn as First Order Stormtrooper comes across a few New Republic agents infiltrating the secret facility he guards. He decides that now is the time to say good bye to the First Order, because he was forced to do some bad stuff. He helps the agents escape. Their ship is damaged and they have to stop at a remote Planet. They pick up a woman who is gifted in the force to a degree Finn can only hope and he really likes her. She seems nice, perfect even, the heroine they all waited for. But along the way she becomes corrupted by the power she wields and after defeating Kylo Ren she falls to the dark side and takes her place at Snookes side, bust to learn of an even greater power to gain linked to her past. Meanwhile Kylo Ren survives and and goes on a path of redemption by helping the rebels and helping Finn unlock his powers. But he also knows that he cannot teach Finn what he really needs to know, having eshewed his original teachings for delusions of grandeur and power. He leads Finn and rhe Rebels to Luke, appologizes and vows to help rebuild what was destroyed. Luke sensed the rise of a new powerfull evil and Kylos(Bens) remorse. He decides moping time is up and to jump once more into the fray. He teaches Finn and helps Ben becomes a true Jedi. The endfight is between Finn and Kylo vs Rey and some cloned Force users and special black troopers. They seem to get the upper hand by sheer numbers untill Luke comes in and crushes them. Meanwhile Leia commands the troops in Orbit and get nearly assassinated. Lando takes over and lead the fleet, while Poe commands the fighters. Finn and Kylo defeat Rey, but she tries one last attack, which is thwarted by Luke. In the end the New Republic is victorious, Leia becomes Chancelor, Lando Grand Admiral, Luke takes another shot at the New Jedi Order with Kylo and Finn as first members. I am not sure what Han should doing in the story. But if he has to die, he should have died a true heroes death, sacrifing himself to save the life of others. Maybe to help the fleet escape an ambush that would have crushed the New Republic. What Disney did with the Star Wars sequels is an antrocity. But as Kathleen Kennedy said: "There is no source material, no 600 pages books to draw from."🤡

Finn for me was the most exciting part of force awakens. I wanted to see the stormtrooper perspective. Imagine what he would have dealt with seeing the other side. Imagine any conflict where he would use a stormtrooper perspective trying to convince a Jedi to do it his way. Seeing the different perspectives bounced off each other while dealing with the conflicts of the story. Having read many original expanded universe books, seeing the stormtrooper/empire perspective but on the hero side on the big screen could have been enlighting, fun, and compelling. It's a shame they let Finn down. Keep up the great work Endymion!

The trailer for The force Awakens gave us the idea we were going to see a ex stormtrooper turned jedi in action fighting against his old allies and thats just a waste

As a Star Wars fan: I was mad that Finn wasn’t the one becoming a Jedi. All signs pointed to it, and were teasing it, but instead of a cool twist, we got the lazy rehashing of the last trilogy.

Oh, of course. It's not the fault of corporations and mainstream hollyweirdoes with tens of millions of fans, it's the fault of this one youtuber with 180k subscribers...

5:38 YESSSS, YEEEES! YES BRO, YES!🎉 Hey, hey now. I liked Finn. He wasn't an actual clone trooper, but he was abducted and indoctrinated into the Order. He genuinely was just a good guy who woke up to the terrifying reality of what he was doing, and I genuinely wanted him to become a Jedi when he picked up the lightsaber. Finn has an interesting backstory unlike the flat Mary Sue main female lead who is parentless and Kilo Ren the main antagonist. If the whole trilogy was mostly about Finn and his journey to becoming a Jedi, I would have been cheering for it and wanting to see all the interactions and rivalries he would have when taking down the Order. Instead he was shoved aside into a side character role and worse- killed off in the most disappointing way possible.

The original trilogy also didn't make it all about Luke Skywalker. It was about Luke, Vader, Leia, Obi, Han, Chewy and the 2 droids !! they all had a huge role to play and all had plenty of screentime. There was no real main character as far as screentime goes. Of course the main storyline was about young Luke growing into a man over the span of the 3 movies with the twist of Vader being his father. It took him 3 movies to then finally face Vader and Palpatine. While Disney's movies are only about 1 person.... Rey. Reeeeyyyy. Those movies ONLY focus on her, I would have loved for Fin to become sort of a "Han solo" in his own journey (I didn't even know that Fin was a Force-Sensitive until i read it on wookieepedia). They could have done SO MUCH with his character.. but they reduced him into a nobody. John Boyega's acting was so much better than Daisy Ridley too. He was both funny AND good in the action scenes (even though they made him look like he always needed Rey's help). Disney has no clue o how to make a movie balanced anymore. All they ca think of is "how can we make this movie as much about this one person as possible.) Also, Rey becoming all powerful over the course of.. what ? 1 or 2 years of star wars time? Luke started out as a kid on a farm and when he finally was on his final battle he had grown into a man, many years later. Gaining experience from the journey to that point. Rey just skipped everything and went straight for the endgame. Good job at being lazy, uncreative and totally an activist for femin|sm, Disney. But hey, you get what you deserve i guess.. Stock market isn't looking good for you. I hope the house of Mouse burns down so the Intellectual Properties of these movies will be sold off. That way people with passion can maybe make something of those properties and we actually get some good movie content again.

I'm glad I know nothing about comic book from America or American cartoon in general. I read European comic from France and Belgium when I was young, but it must be painful for the people who used to like them. I used to like Star Wars but since the sequels trilogy, I don't care anymore and I've found other, more interesting things to do. People didn't hate rey except few weirdos, because there's nothing to hate or love, she's an empty vessel, as for the finn character, I've seen the opposite, people thought he would became heroic, but it was used as a comic relief.

The problem is not really the political agenda that stories with people of color or women as protagonists want to promote. The problem is that they are mounting insulting garbage, which creates more hatred and revulsion. My current favorite hobby is reading books and web novels and I can say that there are many stories with female protagonists and they are very good to the point of saying that they are some of my favorites (if you are interested I can give you recommendations, but my interest lies in fantasy and science fiction) that I sincerely would like to see them adapted into anime/series or movie. Honestly using good stories with good characters would encourage much more diversity and equality than what they are setting up now, which is practically an insult to society.

Woke culture and activist amateurs in Hollywood and gaming are the main reasons why I have skipped SO MUCH content over the last 10 years. Once in a while, I fail at this because they have sneaked it in. Which is a strong indicator, that they know most people won't like it to begin with. I LIKED Flynn from the new star wars. I thought he was a great concept for a character. A storm trooper that leaves because he couldn't stand the atrocities he saw? Its a great concept regardless of whatever skin color he had. I didn't like the movies because they completely botched the execution and made him a wimp compared to the mary sue ass "jedi" lady whom I refuse to name because they aren't a character worthy of any respect whatsoever.

From what I've heard black rock which is part of the wef (world economics forum) is investing in corporations like disneys, warner bros and anything Hollywood related. They force these weird checklist for a score. The more diversity and inclusion they include the higher the score. The higher the score the more they'll keep investing even if its a failure. Even my one friend who is a game developer has had this checklist forced upon them.
