Mr. T's cartoon lasted one season, but Mr. T himself was a cultural icon that all boys wanted to emulate.

He was still Caucasoid not Sub-Saharan nor Asian. I think the problem is that real-world issues are getting shoved into things people watch just to be entertained. A lot of the time people of every race, ethnicity, religion, etc watch movies to get away from the real world and it's problems. One of the things that can bring people of different backgrounds together is shared love of movies, shows, music and entertainment in general. Now it sometimes seems that if a black guy like you and a white guy like me watch a movie the creators are desperately trying to remind us how different and divided we are which is the exact opposite of the way movies used to be. Movies that tackle serious issues certainly have their place and I appreciate and enjoy (if that's the right word) many of them. Sometimes though I just want to lose myself in the story and not have to think about all the crap happening in the real world.
