This woman wasn't scammed. She was paying for attention, affection and flattery. She chose to be willfully naive because she enjoyed having her ego inflated.

People always say they are lonely, but make no effort to meet people in real life. If they went out, volunteered, joined a club, got involved in the local community… they could make proper connections. Especially older people who have the most time, money and resources to hand.

This poor woman needs a mental health evaluation, and I say that with zero judgement or cruelty. She seems incapable of making good financial decisions, learning from past experiences or seeing logic. She's delusional and I can't even imagine what this is really like for her family.

I must be in the minority, I don't mind living on my own, and I am very protective of "my" money.

I'm wondering why elderly folks are so suspicious towards their own relatives, but as soon as a "lovely" stranger comes around the corner, all common sense and safety measures get lost.

I know a 60.yr old mentally disabled man( gets a check to live on), but chooses to be homeless and use the city resources so he can send all his money to a very, very,young gay man. Then expects friends and family to help him through the rest of the month with money.I have helped him until I realized what was actually happening..I have stopped helping him.Now, I am the bad person.

When my dad got lonely and wanted to date I got scared this might happen. So I suggested he sign up for dance groups. He did, got in great shape, and has met many lovely women that don't steal from him

I currently have someone trying to scam me - using one of the sets of photos in this video. I feel so sorry for the poor bloke who's had his images stolen. The scams aren't even interesting at this point.

Before the phrase "catfish"was known, I had several guys trying to catfish me. The reasons and excuses for asking for money were bizarre, but I never fell for any of it. I demanded to talk and FaceTime with the guys who claimed to be interested in me, and as soon as they asked for money, I knew it had to be BS. Two of them claimed that they were going to be getting millions,if only they had this much. They didn't care that I was a disabled woman who had to live on SSI, and still insisted that I send them thousands of dollars. I'd laugh and say if I could get thousands of dollars, I have too many things I'd need it for myself. When I insisted on talking or video,they were obviously not American or not here. I was just learning about these things, but I still didn't fall for any of it. I laughed hysterically when I heard one of them speak for the first time, absolutely extreme foreign accent and not from New York! Said he had an ex wife who was from wherever and had picked up some of her accent.hahaha! Even had his "son"call me, and plead"mom....". I've never been this gullible and didn't fall for any of it. Also I had a guy wanting to send me something to pick up at the airport! Hahaha. Once it was supposed to be Eboli vaccines, and another time it was supposed to be his luggage and I could keep the jewelry in it except for certain pieces. I didn't believe the first one he said, much less the second one. It freaked me out to think what the hell could have been in the package or luggage! Scary as hell! And to think that some gullible chicks would fall for this and bring god knows what into the USA or home. It's scary. I just wanted to share these to help anyone else who might run across something like these. I'd rather be alone than to deal with lies and BS. Being alone isn't so bad, for real.

I'm 65 and if any 70 year old guy called me "babe" I'd be instantly suspicious - at my age and older we are definitely NOT babes. I showed this video to my 39 year old bachelor son whose reaction was a woman that age doesn't appeal to him romantically on so many levels,not being disrespectful, she's aesthetically not attractive, physically couldn't keep up with his lifestyle, it would be like dating your mother/ grandmother. As he pointed out he shares a good friendship with women around her age at his work and he has a lot of respect for them but he highly doubts he could find one man he knows who would be up for dating a woman so much older.
