He didn't play any stupid games . 🙄 We both were grown " real " adults . We both had careers , our own apartments & cars . He paid for all of the dates & he always drove . We never discussed who would pay what 😅. Honestly, it never crossed my mind to pay for a date . 😊 He was the man , so be a man or move on . 🫡 Married 28 yrs , he passed 2 yrs ago . 😢

This is an interesting story but I have noticed narcissistic men have clocked onto joining church groups when looking for a meek woman etc. I'd like an update on her relationship in a few years. Seems alittle too staged. For all we know, the man who approached them in a seafood place could have been a friend of his. Its not hard to set up a incident like that, especially if you started out with doubts. I know divine appointments can happen but paying attention is necessary! 🤔

I have a friend who met and married her husband within six months when we were 21 and as happy as I was for her I was concerned at how fast they were moving at such a young age especially because he was and is in the military and they didn’t seem compatible at first but she assured me she was happy and her husband is great to her and has always been… we’re now 28 and they’re still happily married so I guess for some people it just works. I wish this young lady all the best with her union.

Religion and fairytale relationships can blind a persons common sense in relationships. I have a feeling that this woman did not date much in the 10 years she was single. I also see that she was so enamored by him that she was going to MAKE a way for them to be together no matter what! He told her she was not his wife...and I surely would have run. She married the image he presented and not the man himself! Other comments said that her guy could have called a friend to the restaurant to tell her she will marry her current husband. Inexperience, lack of dating practice, religion and naivety are a few reasons why she is caught up in this union. There was a comment saying that this womans "joy" was annoying. It's not really joy annoying them. It's like a rehearsed happiness. She is showing all of this in public but there were several red flags in her story. She should have left after the 1st date. I worry for this woman; she was completely gone over him before he even knew he existed. She had to reach out to him first, then she keeps giving him chances when it’s her who should be deciding if he’s right for her. And they even have a “there’s no chemistry” discussion on the 2nd date and also the “you are a wife but not my wife” discussion? My paternal grandparents met when my newly discharged from the Navy after WWII grandfather drove through downtown Abilene and saw my grandma walking down the street. He pulled over in his truck, introduced himself, and asked her out. My grandma went home and told her Mom about “Charlie,” and her mother said there’s no way you’re going out with this new man in town. My grandma said, “I’m going, and if he asks me to marry him, I’m gonna marry him!” They got married 2 weeks later and were actually happily married until he passed away in 1988. But he’s the only good man I ever knew in all of my years on earth, and she used to cry even 20 years after he passed, because he had been so good to her. I don’t see that type of love and devotion in this modern story, but I do pray I’m wrong. I hope it works out for her and that he appreciates and loves her.

For Destiny, The reality of your friend’s story is. Even if the pastor may have provided insight and or guidance to if that man was her husband. She should have tested that knowledge for herself with her relationship with God. God will always confirm if someone is for you. There is more to tell about people who are not religious but have a relationship with God and difference in how they perceive relationships . Religious people have one view and having a relationship with God is completely different. Two different perspectives.

The reality is most born again Christian’s marriage lasts because they have God as their foundation. Men know if they want to marry you within 3 month but when you date men who do not have fear of God, they waste your time with false promises. I’m a firm believer that falling in love is for after the wedding day, not before. Before the wedding day is for business. I like the couples counseling part; all the dealbreaker things should be ironed out first and what can be put in writing should be. It’s not romantic, but the truth is that a lot of that is not reality, it’s just pretend; yet it’s what women tend to obsess over because of conditioning. If you can get along with someone that has all the right things for marriage, then you know that you will at least get along with them; the fact that there are many things that are right about him sets you up to fall in love with him after the wedding.
