This is 100% the gayest Chinese drama out there :D Wen Kexing can't be stopped even with censorship

Okay, just some really basic background information about this drama: First, this genre is Wuxia, with martial arts and inner core/energy, as opposed to XianXia, which is the genre The Untame falls under. The biggest difference is Wu is Martial Arts, and Xian is God/heavens. So Wuxia is more realistic (compared to CQL lol) because there is no god/ghost/resentful energy and all that. So this means people of QingYaShan (Mt. QingYa) Ghost Valley are not ghosts, rather they are humans who are on the edge of humanity, doing deeds that are evil to consider them as humans. You will see some examples in later episodes. Second, this drama also touched a bit on the royal family. In ancient China, the emperor would usually have many sons, one of which, will be the Crown Prince who is usually born of the express, not the other harem of the emperor. If everything goes as expected, the Crown Prince will succeed the crown. However, usually, there are multiple sons who want to be emperor, so as the emperor grew old, each son who is interested in the crown would build up their own supporters in court as well as their forces (ex. Windows of Heaven), and will possibly sabotage or rebel to get the crown. In this case, Prince Jin is one of the princes wanting the throne. Third, some basic world views. Just generally speaking, in Wuxia dramas, first, we have Politics vs. JiangHu (lit. Rivers and Lakes, meaning the realm of martial artists). Usually, these 2 don't mead with each other, but there are cases will Politic world will ask for help or support from JiangHu. An example would be Four Season Manor (JiangHu) coming under Windows of heaven (politics). Second, Within JiangHu, there is "good" vs. "evil" (but as you have seen in CQL, there really isn't absolute good and evil). An example of "good" would be Four Season Manor and Mirror Lake Manor (Zhang ChengLing, the teenager that gave him money). An example of evil would be Ghost Valley and Hanging Ghost. In JiangHu, there are clans and manors, there are also wanderers who just enjoy a free life under no manor. Many people start off this drama for the two mains but they get invested with the amazing plots. I hope you will enjoy this series!!

My God!! This is such a good follow up after The Untamed for CDrama BL Adaptation. It just keeps getting better and better. I was actually wondering how the fuck did this series passed the Chinese Censorship with their blatant flirting and not so subtle skinship 😂 Hope you fall in love with Wen Ke Xing and Zhou Zhi Shu as well Noah! 💗

I am a fool who read "invincible" as "invisible" when I saw the first episode and have been watching the whole show waiting for someone to vanish into thin air like Frodo putting on the Ring. Your attention to the exposition truly saved me from further embarrassment.

Pls ignore that rude comment and pls continue reacting to this show. But here I think is a helpful info. I'm avoiding spoilers but I do think you at least need to know this to avoid some confusion. The Untamed is xianxia while Word of Honor is wuxia. From what I gathered Wuxia means martial heroes which is a genre on Chinese fiction that is about the adventures of martial artists in Ancient China. Xianxia is a newer genre that is more of a fantasy/supernatural wuxia. While wuxia does have super power elements on the martial arts its considered low fantasy in comparison to high fantasy Xianxia. Basically, one of the things that made a lot of people confused coming from watching The Untamed is if the Ghosts in Word of Honor is actual ghosts. They are not. Being wuxia, I don't think they have supernatural ghosts, demons, etc here. The ghosts here refers to people who are outcasts, criminals, etc that lives in that certain mountain.

A bit late, but I would say that WOL is much more on the nose concerning more intimate bl-like scenes than The Untamed. People have, funnily enough, described it as a bl rather than a bl adaptation because the main male leads are just so outrightly flirtatious, especially Wen Kexing. It's really an enjoyable series so far, so I do hope you'll keep watching^^. Without the squabbles of a cliche love triangle it leaves room for deeper themes and topics to shine through, and the scriptwriter, Xiaochu, is a very big fan of the original author, Priest. Overall a very solid drama:))

You probably mean no harm but please don't bring up or compare "The Untamed" with "Word of Honor" -- even if both are BL adaptations they are entirely different in story, plot, characters and everything.. plus there is a lot of drama going on between the untamed fans and word of Honor fans.. so please keep the mentioning of the untamed to a minimum when watching or reacting to Word of Honor

You are true embodiment of a CQL only stan, but let’s put that aside for now,... you put out a barely 11 min “reaction” of 45 min/ep drama, disregarding entire plot and its characters comparing them to a different drama characters that have absolutely nothing to do with Word of Honor, not even the same genre (WOH is wuxia, and CQL is Xuanhuan), even the original novels are written by two different writers, the two have have absolutely nothing to do with each other...and here we are...
