Our Bronco is back and we're working over the junkyard 460 big block we got with our Bronco for maximum torque. After that, we're going to get the frame up in the air with a new lift kit and 37in tall tire, then we'll mate the body back on the chassis to get this behemoth ready for some more low buck work.

I've watched a lot of similar videos but this is one of the few showing the proper way to use a torque wrench. That means pulling the handle towards your body instead of away. I was taught the proper way when I was in the Air Force and I was glad to see this video torquing properly.

Finally a build that doesn't cost 100 grand! It even has an engine that can be daily driven on the street. It's refreshing to get away from "street" engines with parts designed for 4000-9000 RPM. Nice job!

All these shows doing rebuilds have one thing in common- everyone is afraid to rebuild transmissions or even learn how. If you can build an engine, you can build a transmission. And, if you can afford a 2-post lift, you can afford the few specialty tools for common transmissions.

TIP when installing a Ford Transmission that has a Drain plug on the front of the converter. use a 7/16 six point deep socket over the drain plug to align the drain plug with the hole in the flex plate.. the converter studs will pop right into place when you slide it all together..

That's good trick with the paint hardener. I have that problem with polyurethane. I buy it by the quart and it always forms a scab in the can that I have to break out and in the long run I waste quite a bit. I wonder if propane would work the same way. It's heavier than air and would displace the oxygen the same way.

I own one of these trucks. Trust me, the water pump rusts way faster than any block. Block doesn't need paint. Water pump really does

Wet weight is 735lb c6 is over 200 and that np203 close to 300lb driveline is stupid heavy. Ditch the 203 for a 205 shaves 150lb or get the doubler kit and mate the 203 planetary section with the 205 for about 10l. More then the 203 alone

I am curious as to why you did not have Dustless Blaster strip the chassis and paint it. ???

Actually the 385 series ford 460 weighs in at 720 lbs. Ford C-6 weight is right at 140lbs. Combined net weight is 860 lbs. not including water pump; starter, etc.

I thought they were a little light on their stated weight.

A 460 is lighter than a 390. It is also narrower than a 352
