The irony of Angron is that how he is with the nails in is supposedly the total opposite of what his nature may very well be. The implication was that he was meant to be a peaceful empathetic healer type, with this manifesting as an ability to take the pain from others. Now he just dishes it out endlessly.
Yep he could of helped the night lord stop having floor dances/visions and help Peter turbo with his eye of terror/personality issues I swear the iron warriors had a gene father with ocd and some form of autism or something
I'm pretty sure the nails are his version of alcohol or drugs, he feels like he has nothing to live for anymore. And the Emperor, being the great father that he is, has either not noticed it or just ignored it, until it bit him in the ass.
@@ezekielthedragon7558I don't think the emperor knew how to take them out, and whatever plan he had for Angron fizzled when he realized Angron would never SUPPORT him. E gave Angron a disposable army and let him trample enemies.
I'd love to see that explored in the future. Like maybe the Emperor ascends and relieves Angeon and his Legion of the Butchers Nail and they fight against Khorne
"Wanna go hang out with the Emperor's Children, pluck some meat fruit from the tree of tender screaming infant flesh?" "I've actually been struggling with my weight, I think I'm just gonna stick with water."
You know it's definitely a grimdark setting when a mind altering torture device twists otherwise a wholesome and big hearted person into a self loathing murder psycho
@@umngyr his legion, not Angron himself. He was a warrior, but that's just what Primarchs are. He was a true Empath who takes the pain of others. The butcher nails, the death of his father figure, then the death of his fellow gladiators was the thing that sent him a downhill spiral.
@@Urd-Vidan I'm not saying any of that helped, but considering that the legions were meant to be modelled on their primarchs (or what their primarchs were meant to be) he clearly didn't have the most fluffy and diplomatic foundation. Parallel to the night lords. Konrad Curze and his legion were always meant to be a terror weapon, even if Curze hadn't grown up on the literally worst planet in the imperium, and been driven bonkers. Likewise, i don't think Angron would have been a calm and reasonable person, even if he hadn't had giant neurofilament spikes hammered into his head.
I love how in some of these videos the actors' hand movements go above the neckline of the armor like the armor is just some big bubble and theyre just normal sized people in them
Guys, Angron is acting all sad and stuff. Wanna help me jump him and force the butchers nails into his head to bring out the daemon Primarch we all know and love?
the thing i like about its sunny is that is like the mental equivalent of body horror where you just see minds that are messed beyond beleif or are about be
Angron seems like he was actually a pretty nice guy if you weren't his enemy. He had respect even for the baseline humans that worked with them and was quite informal with them
If "perpetual teenage angst" was a person, it would be angron or morty. Little bit of both but manifesting in different ways. One "school shooter" the other "slams doors and says 'it's not a phase, dad' unironically"
@@HandsomeLongshanks i mean what would seeing your father figure and friends die and having nails that make you perma angry implemented into your brain do to you? lol
This makes me wonder, is it possible to use nanotechnology to reprogram butcher’s nails? Like invert their function, so you only feel pain when angry, and release endorphins when happy to produce a greater euphoria?
Lore doesn‘t say its possible, but it also doesn‘t say its impossible. Soooooo who is shitty dad again and doesnt look for opportunities to help hid kids???
probably totally could but the big E was like "totally cant do it without killing you sorry" and also we dont want to get rid of our angry red guy so the nails STAY
you can remove them, but angron was lobotomised during the procedure. they cut chunks of his out and its permanently fucked him up. thats why hes only a pathetic shadow of what hes meant to me. he has no connection to his powers or his primarch aura of command.
I prefer my worldeaters with nails, and the ones who remained loyalist are absolutely legendary, at least one becoming a grey knight! The nails also just look badass, like metal dreadlocks!
