@@scottdaviesyoutube my Wave is at 70% but plugging it on charge it wont charge. The brick shows green light and a very similiar brick from a different short board also shows green light when putting the Wave on charge. Just thought I'd ask a few questions around youtube if there is a charging problem with the Waves. Sent Exway a message as well.
Hmmmm mine is fine and to be honest I don’t look after it at all, Maybe try issuing it down to empty then try to change again straight away, Maybe there are a few unbalanced cells
Integrated lights that do not need to be charged separately, sleek design, swappable batteries and drivetrain, good deck that is not too narrow, travel battery coming and the size to take anywhere 😳. NEED to see riot top speed and hill climbing as this is really an amazing package. Super clean editing on the review to take in the uniqueness of the wave 👍
This board looks Epic! Great intro too. Love that removable battery!!! Looks super solid! Exactly what you want in a battery! 😅 wow that tail light is sick! Love that they have option to have lights mounted from factory 👌 that's sick you can control lights from the remote too 😍 love that concave shape of the deck too ❤ when you say deep though, do you feel it was too deep? woah, 39km for a short board 😮 surely wouldn't want to go much faster lol Nice to hear no vibrations! That's a key factor I look for in a board.
Brilliant mate. You covered all my internalised questions immediately. Looks the absolute goods. Love the optional front lights. As if you wouldn't get em.
This is a high-level review Scott. Nice work man! The Wave looks pretty sweet. Love the headlights and taillight, interesting deck design with the concave towards the tail. Looks like a sturdy build. Would be interested in seeing the riot version put up against a Boosted Mini X and a Stoke.
I dont like hub motors either. belt/direct drives for me. nevertheless that board seems to be very nice! I like the swapable battery system, same as the revel kit, that should be standard on every board. Great review Scott!
Thanks mate , yea I agree these were very smooth though, I just like the option to cha he the wheels. Plus I’ll get the Riot pack soon to test as well. Cheers Scott
@9:20, I dont think you've mentioned that exway does a free wheel\fly wheel like boosted used too? Where if you hold the brake, it eventually goes backwards. Otherwise, I've been super excited for this review, thanks Scott !
Yea good point I wanted to just test it straight out of the box, no app changers etc I have that planed for the range test Cheers for the watching and the comment !!
I would love to have break lights and front lights out of the box... great assembly! Here in Barcelona the cops are starting to make ugly faces to electric skateboards due to the lack of proper ways to make yourself visible in the road.
Great review yet again Scott! Looks like a great board and loving the new tech! How was the board over the cobble stones? I know it was a bit early on in the ride and you were still getting used to the board but do you think it will handle rough roads well or is this mainly for smooth roads? Think someone in the comments above mentioned cloud wheels and that would be a great next review. If this board rides well on both rough and smooth terrain, then with the replaceable batteries, lightness, sufficient power and kicktail, this could well be my ultimate board for last mile commuting as well as just popping down to the local! Cheers Scott!
hi Alex on normal cobble stones it was fine on the super rough it was a little bumpy. I assume the Riot would do better, and yes Cloud wheels would also help. The rough patch will make any hub (G3, etc etc ) feel bumpy its just what hubs do, Cheers man stay tunned for Range Test, Cloud 105s on Wave Riot test and more
Haha , no way they have learnt from the Flex they are all ready building the boards now and they have changed logistics company should he a lot smoother and faster
Haha yes yes I did, but it’s only because of 1) that first gear is so slow and 0 acceleration and 2) the app, if they need they can turn the acceleration right down for other gears as well. Plus it’s a nice wide foot stance . Really nice to ride ...
Really like the features of that board, down to every detail! I think I'll definitely be ordering this! The only thing I found kind of silly was you not being able to throw the Flex riot pack on this, I thought originally that was the whole point of their interchangeable system. Any chance you'll be receiving the airline safe battery option to do a speed and range test on that?
Hi mate, I thought the same, but then I looked and I can see why, and it’s quite genius. The Waves with this quick swap battery and hard wired lights and optional front lights are all controlled from the esc; and the ESC is actually housed in / under the rear truck, the f it was anywhere else the battery would not be as easily accessible. Hope that makes sense. But your right this board is feature packed !! Cheers as always for watching Scott
Amazing review as always. I hope ppl know how much time and effort it takes to make these videos and hit that thumbs up, it's free after all. God Bless your Day Big Bro..
Hi Scott, nice review on the Exway Wave. If the drive system change to riot belt, you can change the wheels? Like the Cloudwheels? Hope you can show it. Thanks! 😊
Ok I'm not sure it's fair to say it's better than the Meepo Mini 2 ER. . Sure it has more gimmicks and a little more refined, but does it have the out right raw performance and exhilaration the meepo has. . I have both. My opinion is that the exway is like, get on take a ride a chill . The Meepo is like get on I dare ya. Lol. I like both. I ride my meepo way more because I'm a adrenaline junky. It's like comparing Cadillacs to Corvettes.
Agree with your all points, when I say it’s better it’s based on: Build quality After sales service Delivery time Reliability Safety Meepo mini 2 ER lacks in all those areas IMO, Cheers Scott.
@@scottdaviesyoutube fair enough.. I have to disagree on the durability though. Mine has been through 2000 miles of hell and still runs and rides solid. Very durable. I cracked the case area where the battery goes in on the Exway from going off curbs and stuff...just saying. I do like your vids. One of my favorites on youtube. Cheers.
Yea I think each person will have different needs or expectations. For example I don’t jump of curbs 😂 “I’m too old for that sh!t lol, thanks for your feedback ! And support Scott
Scott thanks bruv this board looks superb. How far off the ground is the deck? I had a Slick Rev urban kick board a while ago and I found the stance was too damn high off the ground
Hi mate, Both the Stoak and this have the same issue and that’s Range, personally I’d recommend the new Tynee mini 2 (check my video) Better esc, better battery really nice deck !!
Hey man, great video! Was just curious how the belt-driven version of the Wave would compare to the belt version of the Vestar Mini that you previously reviewed. Thanks!
About the same I think the motor tech has come such a long way in a year the hubs are pumping out serious power now The Vestar has much higher top speed (But is a little scary on that short deck)
Scott Davies I was originally going to get the Meepo Mini 2 ER, but ended up getting the Vestar because of the thin rubber. This is going to be my main mode of transportation for school, so I wanted something compact but also fast and comfortable. Also, if I ever needed to change out the wheels, I don't wanna worry about the stator being the right size and that sorta thing. But still! The Wave looks really nice too. And I can't believe you don't have a larger following. Your reviews are professional and have an excellent production quality.
Love the review mate. How long till your Wave Riot arrives? Got it in my shopping cart, ready to pull the trigger. Just waiting for your review to give me the "All good!". Cheers from Perth Australia.
Ahhhhh that sucks, They have all those bits in stock so just email them ASAP and they will send out as soon as they are back from their public holiday. And PM me your order number and I’ll call my contact any ensure it’s dealt with ASAP
Amazing video as always! You deserve 100k subsI want one of these even more now. Do you still have to peel back the griptape to change it over to the riot pack?
Hi mate thanks for the feedback and kind words. Don’t know yet I’ll show when my riot arrives and film the process !! I would assume so unfortunately but I’ll owe you know cheers Scott
Good video as always! Do you have any info regarding the flex shipping? People are saying they upgraded the shipping to air, regardless of type you purchased... And I'm wondering what it means for EU deliveries, if they're still going out by train? Cheers!
Mate I don’t sorry, I know they have had a few logistic delays and most have been out of their control, As far as trains plans and automobiles I have no idea. Sorry bud, feel free to reach to me via instagram and I can look in to your specific order ! Cheers Scott
Well done Scott! Loved it. Did you get a chance to measure the wheelbase at all? Would be interested to see how that compares with the Stoke. In fact a direct comparo between the Wave Riot and the Stoke would be very interesting! 😉
Hi mate thanks for the kind words, I just measured both the Wave is 21” wheel base and the Stoke is 25” Yes we will do some tests once my Stoke is fixed. Lost all power last week so it’s in to get fixed ☹️
Not at all, I am actually really surprised it’s such a big difference it feels really nice and not cramped at all. I’m 6ft with size 11 feet and had no issues
Ah man both soooo different I think the wave with Riot will be my favourite but that’s based on the lights and tech and quick swap battery Cheers Scott
@@scottdaviesyoutube Oh wow. I'm sorry to hear that. How did it get stolen? Also, will the X1 Pro like destroy the flex, or will it be like a bit faster, or what?
It’s a fair bit faster but that’s how it’s been designed remember the X1 is their premium board and the flex is their budget board. I think we will see speed upgrades on the flex over the coming coming months
@@scottdaviesyoutube Yeah, I have a feeling about that too. When the X1 Pro sells out of stock I bet they will issue a software update that makes it faster. According to the CEO, the board is limited by software, and it has better hardware than the X1 pro.
@@scottdaviesyoutube My Blink lite is 7.7 pounds and it functions like a dream. I myself only weigh 92 pounds so i need a light board. The Blink S-R (11 pounds) and the Backfire mini (12.8 pounds) are boasting about their lightweight so you might wanna resind your last comment cause theres clearly a market for lighter products and companies know that
Lol your the first or second person to ever say a BLINK board is good. These have a reputation of “toy shop boards” long long list of faults. Yea the Backfire is a little lighter your right. 13.23 pounds but that’s mainly due to a smaller battery. I’m not gong to get in to a pissing match with you. This board for the quality and features is as light as it could be. And yes it will weigh less when they offer the travel battery. Thanks P.s Blink lite = 10mph max and 5 miles range ?
@@scottdaviesyoutube can girls get into pissing matches? Would i need a shewee for this? Everything is getting lighter, laptops, phones, cameras. Don't fight progress just cause you enjoy carrying around heavy objects
Yes, not only is a 2 inches longer, the tail feels a little safer as it has no handle, plus the foot placement is a lot wider so you feel vert confidant riding
Hello Scott, I think the exway webpage is a bit confusing regarding what is standard and extra. I am interested in the wave riot and wonder if the rear and front lights are standard or has to be paid extra for? Do you know how well protected the board is against water? Cheers
Hi mate, Yes its a little hard but once you understand their layout its simple, First you choose HUB or RIOT, Then choose a pack , As you choose the pack the above image will change as well as the price, SO the pack you want for front and rear lights is the LUME pack, As far as water protection, It looks like it will withstand a fair bit, I have ridden it in the rain a number of times and still going strong.
will the clearance be too narrow if i swap the wheel with 105 cloud wheels? (their riot version) when you carve will the board get too close with the stock wheels?
Yea man I have one, it’s a great board the tech in the X is incredible That said, I only have the hub so far and it’s already very very good. Once I get the riot on, I’m 100% sure it will be my favourite. The boosted is a great board but it’s very heavy , the Wave is just more up to date in terms of tech and battery 🔋 Both feel great to ride but the Wave is my choice !
NO, im getting pissed off, It took 12 hr to get from China to Sydney now its been sitting with Sydney Customs for 7 days ... i really need them to hurry up
Scott Davies looking forward to seeing how it goes. I saw Daniels review and it looks awesome. Will definitely be purchasing one of these. I was tempted to get the Evolve Stoke, but this seems so much better in every way. Also Evolve seem like a bunch of dickheads if im being honest, with the whole reviewing of Exways board on their channel and pretty much saying its a chinese piece of crap. They are actually the reason i found out about Exway,so thanks Evolve for being petty and unwillingly advertising a company with selling points your potential customers can take and bank on by not buying Evolve. ❤️one love
5 steps up in quality. The Vestar is faster (too fast in my option) this so far is flawless. Very nice to ride. My Riot kit arrives next week then it will be a true comparison!!
All depends on what you want, both are great to ride. The Wave is shorter and you need a little more skill, but the tail is fantastic to use. The flex has a little more power and if your new is easier to ride and learn.
Haha yea I prefer the wave but I do have other long boards and for me it’s just a going to the shops or taking on holiday etc i wouldn’t ride it all the time.
