@@_apsis I have no idea why he pointed it out. I also have no idea why Cel2Savage replied saying "kinda" The Welsh are the pre-Anglo Saxon native Britons. Doesn't get any more British than that IMO! Also the Cornish etc but the Anglo Saxons referred to all of them as "Welsh".

Belgium did prepare somewhat, see the Chasseur Ardenne. One or two groups almost managed to stop the Blitzkrieg “They told us to hold the border and that’s what we did!!”

The pacific theater was an absolute mess. Here are some reasons why: You could get multiple diseases, trench foot, a foot or two of rain, mud that can swallow you whole, and a lot of other things that can ruin your life.

That tattoo comic reminded me that I have a coin from the 1932 Chicago World's Fair that has a 'no-no German' symbol on it along with other symbols of good luck like the horse shoe, 4-leaf clover, rabbit's foot ect. So yeah that probably happened a lot.

The reason Welsh names are so long and look like that is because they are very specific about naming things. For example York means “wild boar town” or “rich in wild boar”. Whereas *Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantsiliogogogoch* means “St Mary’s Church in the hollow of the white hazel near the rapid whirlpool of Llandysilio of the red cave”

I think it’s much worse being sent to the pacific theatre because you I’ll be dealing with a nation who would rather die then to surrender, you I’ll either be picked off by snipers, get ambushed, or get killed during a night raid while asleep. And even if lucky enough to avoid those, you also got the tropical environment which includes diseases, wildlife, etc.
