Year by year, Iga is getting better and better on grass. She has improved her serve and movement on the grass. Much less unforced errors. A cool head and complete composure. Keep it up.
A few too many errors from Iga, but good, powerful serving and some gorgeous winners. She is also playing calm, and never faced a break point. Keep it going, Iga!
Her chances are growing witch each round. She is best prepared mentally and physically in whole WTA and even though she is not best technically on grass in further rounds when pressure grows and tiredness comes into play she gets an advantage.
@@Mememeep is grass really that big of a difference? I’ve been watching tennis for a while now (only grand slams, though, lol) so I know a good amount about the game, techniques, intangibles, etc.,. However, not so much about the intricacies of deeper aspects, such as the interplay of surfaces. I read that grass is the “fastest” surface, but wouldn’t that okay to her advantage with the amount of topspin she plays with? Also, they say Iga is the best/quickest mover on the WTA, but then also say that “she’s getting used to moving on grass”. Wouldn’t this also play to her advantage rather than be a weakness/challenge? She’s also extremely good on defense (perhaps also the best returner on tour?) which I read is pivotal when playing on a grass surface. My apologies in advance for such a long question lol; I’ve tried to Google and research this but always am met with conflicting opinions. Thanks for your time! ^_^
@@jw5003its a tournament, all u have to do is to reach the next round. In Roland garros she had match balls against her in second round. WHO was the winner again? I've forgotten
Another good win for Iga. I think the test will become harder each round, with Putintseva waiting now with a bag full of tricks😅 But Iga has the shots and mentality for such hurdles. Hopefully, she will make a deeper run this time. 👏👏👏
IGA exposed her self so much on that court petra has a different game style if it was players that hit winners from all angle IGA wouldn't have won this match and like i said she needs to up her game or she will be leaving soon
Here's the match summary: **Match Result** - Iga Swiatek defeated Petra Martic 6-4, 6-3. **Statistics Comparison** - **Aces**: Swiatek 3, Martic 2. - **Double Faults**: Both players had 2 double faults. - **1st Serve Percentage**: Swiatek 65%, Martic 63%. - **1st Serve Points Won**: Swiatek 83%, Martic 74%. - **2nd Serve Percentage**: Swiatek 90%, Martic 91%. - **2nd Serve Points Won**: Swiatek 63%, Martic 38%. - **Break Points Won**: Swiatek 2/3 (67%), Martic 0/0 (0%). - **Net Approach Points Won**: Swiatek 4/6 (67%), Martic 3/6 (50%). - **Total Unforced Errors**: Swiatek 19, Martic 15. - **Total Winners**: Swiatek 25, Martic 13. **Analysis** - Iga Swiatek performed exceptionally well in this match, particularly in winning points on her first and second serves, where she outperformed Petra Martic. She also excelled in net points and break points won. - Despite having more unforced errors than Martic, Swiatek's significantly higher number of winners indicates that her aggressive playstyle was more effective. - Martic had a slightly higher second serve percentage, but her second serve points won were much lower, showing she struggled against Swiatek's returns. Overall, Iga Swiatek's performance was more comprehensive and consistent, leading to her clear victory in this match.
It was a test my guy,she isn’t really good on grass, her opponent today have done few errors and didn’t convert important points.Iga is the queen of tennis actually but she will suffer against opponents like Jabeur,Rybakina who are better than her on grass
@@richardabreni8609Yes, but as she said after the match, she tries to improve every year and she believes that her time will come. Good serve placement, forehand 6 mph faster year to year since 2021. She doesn’t need to win this year, semifinal would be a good progress.
@@richardabreni8609 Rybakina is about the only one who can truly beat Iga when at her best but she's been off her game all year. So for other to have a shot at Iga due to the surface, they'd have to have close matches with her on other surfaces and this year I can't think of anyone who's challenged her consistently even if losing.
Although there might have been some awful decisions made by Iga offering those points to Martic on a silver tray, there was no sign of "testing activity" from the other side of the net. 🤷♂️ By the way... GO 1GA! 💪
From the UF errors, it would seem that Iga is still adjusting to grass. Her stronger serves is certainly helping but returns and other areas looked dodgy. Doesnt look like a GS winning level for this tournament.
Iga's style on grass is not impressive at all, her forehand doesn't work here, she throws every return on forehand out... it will be a great success if she reaches the quarter-finals.
A more compatible mobility in accordance with the first round clash on the grass surface. Her adaptability and agility keep enhancing in each passing phase in order to make a huge difference. It proves the evolution of Iga Swiatek on this surface as well.
Looking at so many of these point, Petra was hitting back to Iga, and generally to the middle of the court. Whereas, Iga was hitting to the angles, making Petra run. So simple.
The surface doesn't really matter much, many players have won both RG and WC. She doesn't even need to do things differently, only needs to play with confidence that she can do it and pray to God she doesn't end up facing Rybakina or Ostapenko on grass.
The bouncing of the ball is different. On clay the ball moves slower than grass and bounces higher . Iga hits topspin on both forehand and back hand . She has more time to think or plan where to hit the ball to. On grass the ball bounce quite low and moves faster than on clay . Some balls become bad bounce. The grass court is suit to the players who like to hit flat ball like and slice . These skills are not Iga’s favorite shot so that she needs to learn and adjust to play on her own style.

Świątek is feeling more confident on grass. I still don't think she's goint to win it (she''ll probably stumble in the 4th round against Ostapenko) but one can see grass is becoming more than a "curiosity" for her.
Gdyby Iga w 2022 roku w pierwszej rundzie wylosowała Kenin albo Martić od razu by przegrała, teraz poradziła sobie z nimi w miarę pewnie.
@@KonstantyKostekKosteckiKostkaIga sadly will never win Wimbledon, her performance against Putintseva was so bad it was embarrassing. Her limitations as a player are being cruelly exposed on grass and her record at Wimbledon is shocking for a no1 player, she has never gone beyond the QF in all this time as no1. I think it's safe to say that Iga is no Alcaraz who is not only younger than Iga but has won the US Open, the French Open and Wimbledon! 😅
@@eyeofthetiger6002 Well, as long as Iga copies the clay style of play on grass, it will be difficult for her to achieve success in Wimbledon. She already knows it's not enough. But she still has 8-10 years to make proper changes to her game. Besides, There have been a few great players (Henin, Lendl) who have never won Wimbledon, the same might happen with Iga.
As an Iga fan, I don't like such provocative comments. There's no point in making such claims because the two players played in different eras and never played against each other. But they are both definitely great champions.
Pointless provocation. Serena was much more powerful and had lethal serve. Peak Serena would kill Swatek in strait sets. And besides u must wait with such stupid comparisions when Iga wins at least 20 majors...
