Actually Jingles, cruisers have always been tanking for battleships even before the rework lol. Only now, cruisers have lost what little tankiness they used to have, while bb's are more incentivised to stay at range

Combined with the fact that almost every tier 10 game is fully populated with 18" BBs so cruisers can't angle or tank at all. I tried playing a few games in the Zao yesterday and it's a joke fighting 4 Thunderers and a Yamato.

@@MrRedRye I've pretty much given up on any T10 cruiser below 18km unmodified range . For that matter I don't even touch T10 anymore unless I'm playing the 2 aforementioned bb's or a cv. Absence of skill based mm further exacerbates this problem

Des Moines is still quite effective at close in support with island cover. But the problem I’m finding is that BBS with dead eye will quickly leave a flank to keep that distance. The enemy pushes forward through the cap, and with an unlegendary DM you’re quickly over run.

Ppl on console always say its trash because they don't know how to play it. It's such an underestimated ship that BB players will just give you full broadside and I get to smack them for mad damage over and over again. Then get a message saying "reported" lol.

I know the fletcher didn’t get a lot of kills but he did everything right from what I can tell he shot at the mu had a godly torp spread at the beginning and was a great spotter.

maybe not lot of kills, but after the initial "snack for BBs" he claimed in chat he is already on 122k dmg and it probably didn´t end there and grow throughout the battle :D

Another major issue that the deadeye skill has introduced is that while yes its true that bbs with the skill won't push up and tank. Bbs like me who aren't using the skill or are perfectly willing to tank for the cruisers just get focused by all of the bbs and cruisers because you're so much easier to hit and farm damage off of. HE spam was bad before the rework but I swear that ever since the rework I've been getting hit with 10k plus HE salvos while angled. There is no point or benefit for bbs to tank now which is ludicrous because unless you're japanese, that's the bloody role of bbs in the game.

i use Deadeye but i use it more like late game they are on the other side of the map and i am in a capture point and i can see them i might as well put some shots in. i dont like being in the back so i tend to be more Midrange to Pushing only thing you need to worry about is WHEN to push which many BB players dont rlly know how to do so they sit and snipe with DEADEYE. ik it might be a waisted skill but tbh it comes in handy late game when everyone on the enemy team is on the other side of the map. i like to brawl in my YAMATO so funny to see people try and get the CHEEK just to end up Bouncing xD its just too funny to miss out on.

@@siliquaesid703 I don't play the American tech tree BB's so I wouldn't know. Georgia has a sub-200 meter dispersion at 20kms. That's better than some battle cruisers.

Yup, me and a clan mate found that out. They were wondering how to build their Georgia and I asked them how points their capt has and seeing as they only had a 6 pointer, I recommended a Main guns build with the slot 6 American module, APR mod 2. End result? Their Georgia has a dispersion of 193m. My Alaska, built for main guns, has 193m dispersion.

I've seen some fantastic names in WoWs revently. The most memorable at the moment that I saw was a couple of days ago. It is... 'Yuck Fou'. I grinned my my face off and even giggled as I was getting HE-spammed by cruisers in my HMS Monarch. ;-)

@@Linerunner99 It depends. For ships that were already very accurate, it's not a big deal. For ships that weren't, it sort of is. The 10% figure is deceptive, because it's actually a 19% reduction in the area of the dispersion ellipse. For high sigma ships, it doesn't matter, because most of their shots were going to the center of their ellipse anyway. For low sigma ships, though, that's a huge buff. I've been tempted to see what it can do for my Wyoming... Have you seen PotatoQuality's video about what it does for Roma?

@@DeviousXP Mate, as it happens, I design games and have written a book about game design (Wikipedia: "Lewis Pulsipher"). These are pretty obvious consequences of the rule changes described. I don't need Jingles' opinion to see that. Nor have I ever thought Jingles a "massive irrational whiner", though I've listened to him for quite a few years now.

I'm still dumb enough in Jean Bart, But when it works it's epic, Catch them off guard with speed boost and reload booster. Usually I am the one killing dd's while our useless cruisers are trying to HE farm bb's. Wish they would learn, kill the damn dd's first and it's usually an easy win.

The Roon is always fun to play dodging BB fire that normally has almost no chance of bouncing. Loading HE and firing at 18 km so that the BBs are even more encouraged to delete you. due to the fires. It is always fun to get to the end of the game in a Roon, but almost always at low health.

Yesterday I was sat out in the open spotting in my Stalingrad for 5 minutes with a friendly Montana, Thunderer and Conqueror behind me. In that time I got 6 spotting ribbons and did a grand total of......1100 spotting damage *facepalm*. Three BBs did 1100 damage to the ships I was spotting in 5 minutes while sailing at the back of the map. I absolutely despair!

I absolutely hate missions that require spotting damage because you have no control over who your team shoots at. For whatever reason, spotting damage seems more predictable in WoT than WoWS.

I wonder how things would've worked out differently if instead, the dead eye skill made you more accurate while you were within your base surface detection range. I could see battleships Actively working to make their stealth worse in order to increase the range in which it was effective

So Jingles, Drachinifel did a full video on the Alaska-class, and he came to the conclusion that it was closer to a really big cruiser than a battlecruiser, so battlecruiser isn't the right designation for it

It's been interesting watching the Deadeye controversy from Legends. Welcome to our world where BBs park at the back, insert their thumbs into their backsides, then proceed to slowly rotate. Makes for much fun, yes? Oh, and the Alaska is (was) a large cruiser. CB hull designation. Lexington would have been a battlecruiser. CC hull designation. Of course, the Brits called the Vanguard a "fully armored battlecruiser". Crack open a cold one and contemplate that for a bit.

The deadeye skill is a really good idea, but should have been the other way around. That it makes your guns more accurate depending on how many spotted ships are "within" your spotting range.

My experience is that there are more battleships sitting back, and a lot of them are Thunderers. It normal as to do damage to BBs at long range HE is the shell of choice. However, if you have reasonable map awareness and vary your heading and speed a lot of the shells very accurately hit the sea.

I've been having some good success with my Hindy. Got it a couple days ago, first tier X. Broke my damage record two games in a row, prior it was 158k, pushed it to 172k and then 178k in my 3rd and 4th games respectively, although I did go for a gun performance build and basically dropped nearly all concealment but it's been working nicely for me so far. At 60%hp my 12x 210mm guns have a 6.2 second reload, german 1/4HE pen, 2800 dmg and a 15% fire chance, it racks up the damage pretty fast whilst the BB's are busy slinging crap at each other.

More BB's and less cruisers just created a renaissance for Asashio. Corresponds nicely with the rework removing the option for faster 16km and having only the 20km torp option. Imagine intergrating submarines with Dead Eye skill.

@@PhongNguyen-po2zi What I always wondered was why the Alaskas, with the armor and speed and but lesser caliber main battery of other battlecruisers would be called battlecruisers by some when the Iowas, with the speed and main battery of battlecruisers but greater armor aren't called battlecruisers by the same people. If their dictate of what a battlecruiser is is the 'correct' one then both classes could be called battlecruisers. Personally, The Alaskas were the offspring of heavy cruisers with no treaty restrictions and the fast battleships ended the whole battlecruiser concept in its entirety. Now the battleships could scout with the cruisers and destroyers.

We need new skills for the cruisers : Suicidal Tendecies [ 160% speed when BBs are around ], Foolishness [ 130% fire rate when showing broadside to each BB near], Learn To Swim [120% turret rotation when a DD is less than 5miles away], I Want my Ducky Buoy [Play Titanic OST when the ship is under 10% life]. Waiting for it.

to be fair thats how it worked in real life. capital ships (battleships, carriers) kept as much distance as possible from the enemy, while the screens (cruisers, destroyers) tried to close the distance to make their guns effective and drop torpedoes, plus trying to make it difficult for the enemy screens to do the same. so... imo it might be better if you had "lives" while playing a screen and after your death you can respawn near your capital ships, though it might need some sort of indication/countdown visible to the enemy, so you dont find yourself surrounded while shooting at a lone capital ship.

Speaking of overmatching bow and stern armor, did you know a Tirpitz can citadel another Tirpitz from long range? I managed to citadel an enemy Tirpitz in my Tirpitz, 3 citadels. It was weird to be honest, but I hit it at such long range the shells practically plunged down into the deck so I guess it made sense.

20km torps are back baby. me and another shima caught 3 bb's on shatter sitting still. my torps hit first his cleaned them all up. 4 minutes into the match we had a combined 308k dmg and 3 bb kills was just glorious. 1 kremlin and 2 ohio's gone.

20 minutes power nap here i come.. wheee... anyone else has the feeling that youtube worthy matches in 2021 would have been considered a snooze fest two years ago? i have nothing but respect for all content creators relying on WoWs vids as income source and trying to make the best out of it. hope WG will reconsider their plan of getting everyone a 50% win rate.
