I didn't know Javed Miandad would open aggressively over the circle long before the trend probably set by Jaysuria till this day.. Miandad-a great mind of the game he was.
Thanx for uploading old vintage cricket..off course before my birth... really loved watching it... Quite slow from present day standards... Imagine Australia made only 37 runs after 13 hours that too without loss of any wicket.. what a turtlish cricket it was in those days
Cross roads moment for Australian cricket. No Lillee, Marsh or Chappell. South African rebel tour just sound the corner and Border had no idea that he was the catalyst behind our resurgence!
This is old fashioned cricket, it was the time when PAKISTANIS would come into pressure chasing score. That's why miandad came as opener to give a smooth chase of score, but the efforts of miandad went into futulity
Good win for Australia. Wessels batted and Jones finished well. Ejaz fakih bowled well for Pakistan. But why Pak changed the batting order is surprising. Mudasar and mohsin open the batting usually and Javed was at 3 or 4. Carl rackaman bowled very well.
Hey mate. Nice to see you uploading games again. Just be careful tho, we don't want you to have this channel terminated as well. Was just what I needed to take my mind off of the BS that is modern-day life. Cheers / hope all is well. ✌
There is a myth around the cricket circle that the 1970s aur 80s players were super Human in the terms of cricket but my personal opinion is that ,the era in which i saw players like brett lee,Shoaib ,waqar, wasim, Lara,Tendulkar, dravid ,warne ,murli and many others were far superior than these players which we are watching in this video
the original Steve Smith who I remember had a habit of making centuries in these tri series so the selectors put him in the test team to tour the West Indies. Of course the Windies quickly finished off his international career in no time at all.
he ran out of domestic form in the 84-85 season and couldn’t force his way back into the test side. Then he decided to join the rebel tours of South Africa. That said, those back to back series against the West Indies set back a few Australian cricket careers including Kim Hughes
I wonder why specialist openers like Mudassar Nazar & Mohsin Khan didn’t open for Pakistan instead Mansoor Akhtar who played only few matches for Pakistan opened here and Javed Miandad the skipper who rarely opened for Pakistan in ODI’s & tests opened here ?
Did you notice the slow rate at which Australia scored runs and sane with Raja and Mosin. Those were the time when the last 10 overs were fun to watch. I can’t imagine batsmen scoring 19 runs facing 66 deliveries in the current era.
I didn't know Javed Miandad would open aggressively over the circle long before the trend set probably by Jaysuria till this day.. Miandad-a great mind of the game he was.
Hey can you upload pakistan vs england 1987 world series cup. This is the match where allan lamb went bersek on pakistani bowlers because england had to increase its net run rate. On one end england wickets kept falling and on the other end , Allan lamb kept whacking everybody including Imran. England lost and if my memory serves me correct, got knocked out of series but i still remember that match because of his brave counter attack. Watching that match highlights made me realize why pakistanis were worried about him coming to bat in 1992 world cup final and why the fall of his wicket was such a huge deal. And to top it all off, wasim akram's delivery made it even a more cherishable moment
Pakistan didn’t feature in 1987 WSC. So it could either be the 87 Perth Challenge you’re thinking of or 1985 World Championship Of Cricket I have both those games.
@@TriSportsCricket I don't exactly remember the tournament. But engalnd had to qualify for finals and they had to score certain amount of runs in 30 overs and Allan lamb hammered the pak bowlers. If you have that match, can you please upload it
@@tahirqayyum4274..That particular match was in WSC March 1985 to commemorate 150 years of Victorian State: England after a victorious Indian tour of 1984-85, lost both games against Aus & India. And needed a win against Pak to stay alive; Allan Lamb, with his 81 set, u guess, Sydney on fire...grt batting display which I later watched, after listening to live commentary of Hasan Jaleel, Chisty Mujahid n one more famous Pak English commentator on Radio Pakistan, from India.
These games proves that Pakistani batting didn't have lack of talent. Instead with them it's always been about the mindset. In the beginning of their inning, when they decided to attack the Australian bowlers, they were successfully smashing the same bowlers whom they seemed to be afraid of otherwise. And as always, as one or two batsmen got out and they started to feel the pressure, they all fell like dominoes.
I couldnt understand why javed mudasar and mohsin threw away their wickets and also hI w qadir w funny action was totally useless as a spinner and a fielder as usual bad fielding
