I have both a Hero 9 and his baby brother Hero 10. I do not need to record anything at the extreme settings and so I have never had an overheat problem with either of them. I am so appreciative of your "no-nonsense" evaluation of these units in a side by side comparison. It is so refreshing to hear a fair assessment of the Hero 10 without all the bashing, crying and whining. Too many of us are just not using the settings to get the camera to do what we want it to do. They are "action cameras" not "instamatics".
THANK YOU so much for your comment! I am more than happy to share my experiences with these cameras for you and anyone else interested. I really appreciate your comment!👍
I like that you run quickly through the subject at hand and you don't waste the viewer's time with nonsense bruh, truly appreciate that! My time is valuable and you do not waste it. SUBSCRIBED!
Every single comparison video I see of these two, the 9 always looks better! Same thing happened when I bought the DJI pocket 2. The Pocket 1 was so much nicer
I was hoping for a comparison between how the max lens mod works on each. With the 9, using the mod means no 5k, no 4k, no regular speed or slo mo in timewarp mode, no benefit of using the mod when live-streaming, etc. Did they fix any of that with the 10? Does the max lens mod even work with the 10? If so, how well compared to the 9?
As a first time gopro owner i was gonna go with the 9 as it really does alot and it's $120 less than the 10. However, I found a 10 on sale for the same price as the 9 so i got it...
I recently purchased Jordans book it's absolutely crammed with superb information, tips and tricks I will have to read it several times to to take it all in.
Brother I'm hunter and using hero 9 black for hunting video. We are hunting duck early in morning . A little bit dark in the morning .. kindly tell me setting for a best video recording.. if 5k is batter or 4k .. kindly suggest me best settings .. thanks . I'm waiting for your replay. Thanks
Just got the 9. 100 bucks less and it’s just as awesome.. I still have my hero 5 black. It still work well. Get the 9. Use it. Make sure you put the insurance on it for 4 years . It’ll come in handy.
Every time he says that the hero 10 looks better.. It's not the case on screen. The hero 9 looks better. more contrast more colour accuracy - based on this video footage. What am i missing ?
Craig, that was my exact observation. In fact after watching this I realized Gopro 9 makes more sense. On Amazon, GoPro 9 is highly discounted and comes with lots of accessories. That would be useful to me because it's my first time getting a GoPro
Hello, very interesting video! I wanted to ask you something. I have the hero 9, but I'm not very happy. For me, the image it gives is not sharp enough, it is too soft, and also, especially in gopro color, the shadows it gives are sometimes very black, unnatural and blur many details (example: through a forest , the shaded areas, trunks, etc. are unnaturally dark, only if you get very close does it give a little more detail). Do you know if the hero 10 is sharper, more detailed and with better textures, and if the shadows it offers are not so extremely black? From what I see in your video, yes, 10 is better, but do you think I would appreciate the update to 10 in those aspects? Thank you very much and greetings
Hi Ashley, Yes, GoPro removed the wake command out of Voice Control on the 10. I personally barely ever used the wake command, but I'm sure there are people who miss having that ability. I find it easy enough to press the power button to turn on the camera in most situations (or use the Quik App).
Thanks jordan for the great review. Maybe you have an opinion on this.. I'm looking for a b & c cam for my podcast and thought of getting two Gopros 10. With proper lighting ofcourse I'm guessing they would work perfectly? :S Instead of getting 1000$ camcorders... I'm on the fense since I haven't come across any video examples that are convincing in low light or interior setups :S I cant afford grain, picture needs to be sharp. I understand they are not made for this but how bad can it be... My main A cam is an EOSR.
Could you share your thoughts on doing live videos on Facebook with the hero 10? Currently I'm using a Samsung galaxy s10 cell phone with fair results with occasional freeze ups.
Just a comment on your name. I've never seen a *Hetrick* since my elementary & middle school days --- his name is Ronald Hetrick and he's from Golden, Colorado.
Hello, just saw your video, awesome I will buy gopro for the first time, but i confused which one the best, while some people say gopro 9 better than 10 because 10 have overheat problem, is it really trouble?
I would go with the 10. Either one can overheat, but you shouldn't have problems if you are using it outdoors with some airflow. If you run into overheating (mostly when stationary indoors), use 4k-30.
With both cameras can you record and watch on your cellphone as a monitor at the same time? I have the Hero 9 and can't do it. My Hero 6 did. Am I doing something wrong?
You are not doing anything wrong. The Hero 9 and 10 don't allow a live view on the app while you record. It's a shame. Hopefully, GoPro will enable that feature again soon.
hey there. im looking to get a gopro and want the 10 but so many reviews say over heating is a huge problem. id be useing it in any were from +35c to -45c mostly out doors hiking and stuff nothing with fast air flow like biking. would the 9 be a better option? would be used for uploading video to utube. would also be used for stills when out with familly. whats your opinion 🤔
@@IDE-YA Yep. The 10 an 9 have never overheated for me and I live in arizona. If you shoot in the highest 5K setting then it does get fairly hot, but i’ve shot in 4K and had no issues for a while.
I'd say it is "pretty" responsive. A lot of people have complained, but the lack of responsiveness was never a major issue for me when using the camera. It's definitely a lot slower to respond than the 10, but it's not a deal breaker.
@@JordanHetrick for the Black Friday deal at Walmart for the hero 8 is pretty good for a small RU-vidr like me any time I see a good deal on a GoPro I try to snatch it up I got the GoPro hero 7 for 123 dollars at Walmart so I think that’s pretty good but I think I will wait a couple years and I will probably snatch it up ! Thanks for the video’s I really enjoy them!
what is that little valve below the mode button (I have tried every every manual, but nothing) I broke it by accident. Below the cover is a very little round hole covered with film. can I glue back to it?
Hi Marc, Yeah the Hero 8 is great also. Every GoPro just adds more features. The Hero 5 quality is great, but there was no stabilization in that camera (as far as I can remember- that was a while ago😉. The Hero 8 has really good stabilization though, so yes that would work well too.
