All the most memorable books start with a great one-liner. The best books have a closing line that somehow repeats, reiterates, or reflects the opening line. Can't wait for The Steward!

Truth! I can’t wait to share The Steward! I just have to finish writing it first haha.

Should I write, I’m pretty sure my first words would be-“Again? Mind boggling. Let me tell you a story”. Awesome video David!

„What??? …Wow! What an opening! This is going to be great!”, was my first thought to myself when I read the first line of your book.

Confession time.. I've discovered I'm more a reader than a writer. I stumbled across Anthony Peake during my research and he's researched and written several books on paranormal topics. I'm sure he'll handle it well with footnotes and everything. I've fallen down the rabbit hole of watercolor painting. When I found out how expensive it is to get art framed I set up my garage to make my own frames. It's taken on a life of it's own. I guess that's what happens when you follow your passion.

My first line is: " There is nothing in the world that smells as unpleasant as disgust."

Awesome! And too true! Disgust is certainly malodorous! 😂 What genre?

My first line: MG horror story. Robby Reynolds exhaled, “I think my mother is trying to kill me.”

Why the choice of I’d - I would be dead; instead of I’ll - I will be dead?
@DavidBadurina
@DavidBadurina Год назад
I re-wrote that a lot haha. Ultimately, editorial choice. Fits better describing doubt at the time, a hypothetical, and also the novel is in first person past tense, and “would” is typically used as the past tense version of “will.” So more of a stylistic choice, less of an “option” statement. Also, just thought it sounded better!
