Oops I did that and the fire went up so big nearly burnt my house down but I put out the fire with a lid

Bad videographer ... failed to capture the fire being smothered with the big pan .. just zoom out more for an overall view so that you won't miss the action ..

wet rag is what I do. and i used it 3 times in my life already, which is not a lot but weird that every time other people wanted to throw water on it.

I had an stove eye catch fire my friend poured salt on it went right out then my oven caught fire I poured salt in it put the fire out. That might not work in your situation but it worked for me.
