UNTIL THE DAY I DIE!!--I WILL NEVER FORGET LIVING IN THE TWIN CITIES MPLS.ST.PAUL MN FROM 7-1-1974-5-15-1981 LIVING AT 1182 SELBY AVE.ST.PAUL MN. 7 YEARS OF MY LIFE BEFORE MOVING TO BALTIMORE MD IN 1981!!
I just replayed that theme just now!!--YES 43 YEARS AGO IN THE OLD PENN OPTICAL EYEGLASS COMMERCIAL--TO MY RECOLLECTION THEY USED THE OLD WHAT,S NEW THEME FOR THEIR COMMERCIAL!!
I still remember the Twin Cities network change March 5 1979!! But also here in Baltimore MD during the 43 years I,ve been living here since age 9 in 1981--I remember 2 network changes 14 years apart--8-30-1981 WBAL TV 11 which was first NBC later switched to CBS while NBC moved to WMAR TV Ch.2 BUT WJZ TV CH.13 stayed with ABC for 14 years until 1-2-1995!!--all 3 MAIN channels switched networks AGAIN!! WBAL TV 11 rejoined NBC WMAR TV CH.2 became ABC & WJZ TV CH.13 became CBS!! In 50 of my 52 almost 53 years of living in Minnesota & Maryland --3 network changes I never forgot!! MPLS ST.PAUL MN network change on March 5 1979 & 2 network changes in Baltimore MD 14 years apart--August 30 1981-1-2-1995!! 😥 Whew!!
I forgot to add that ironically after moving here in Baltimore going on 43 years ago in 1981-when me & my parents were living at my cousin.s house for 4 months(May-September 1981)[NOTE MY MOTHER & FATHER KEPT ME OUT OF SCHOOL FOR 3 YEARS UNTIL 1984 WHICH BY THAT TIME WE WERE LIVING IN NORTH BALTIMORE REMINGTON CHARLES VILLAGE] anyway back to what I was saying about when we lived at my cousin.s house--I was watching TV (most of the time) & they,re was a commercial for PENN OPTICAL EYEGLASSES & that old Penn Optical commercial for right here in Baltimore was also using the old WHAT,S NEW? theme from Minnesota.
Since I got my new phone since this past April(my other phone died)-- I still can go back in time when I was a former Mpls St Paul MN resident of 1182 Selby Ave from 7-1-1974-5-15-1981!! RIP!! MY MOTHER LOIS ANN ROUTHIER (10-28-1934-5-6-1984) & FATHER PHILLIP ANTHONY ROUTHIER AKA "FRENCHY"(9-17-1924-8-6-2001). a couple of years after moving to Baltimore MD around maybe 🤔 1982 or 83 not sure-THAT SAME OLD "WHAT,S NEW?"THEME FROM OLD WTCN TV(NOW KARE) 11 was used again here in Baltimore & if I,m not mistaken for the old "PENN OPTICAL"EYEGLASSES 👓/EYE CARE commercials!! (although I could be wrong)
