X Factor (UK) - Series 2 - Bad Auditions 

When they say “Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey” you know a train wreck is coming.

This was the golden age of these shows. No sob stories, no audience, no scripted nonsense. Just plain, raw auditions good and bad

The guy at 15:00 was just waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay ahead of his time. Now AI generated voices can recreate John Lennon's voice singing pretty much any song which is wild to think about.

The John lenon guy was about 15 YEARS before AI singers were a thing. Dude was simply on the wrong show. Should have been on shark tank!.

FINALLY BAD AUDITIONS I HAVEN’T SEEN

What is really sad is that so many of these people with absolutely no talent have been lied to by friends and family who encouraged them.

Breaks one's heart to hear," I have failed at everything else", and they put so much store into the singing. But at 19, your life hardly started.

The mother saying that Simon threw her Daughters life away, and "what's she supposed to live for now?" ... seriously messed up.

Simon is not mean. By being brutally honest, he prevents people who can't sing from coming back

Sarah's mum is horrible... her mum actually said "he has just thrown my daughters life away now. this is her life, whats she living for" 20:32

There's an unfiltered, almost brutal tone to these early series auditions filming style. Almost like a fly-on-the-wall documentary. This style needs to come back

The way they did that little 19 year old was just ruthless…. Completely uncalled for.

I really do love Sharon. She was such a sweetheart. She really did care for the contestants, even when they were bad. I was so proud when she confronted Simon & Louis about how they treated that poor 16-year-old girl, & when she walked her out. Everyone deserves the kind of honest criticism & support that Sharon gave❤ Note: Upon further review, it seems Sharon wasn't always as compassionate as she could've been. Honestly, though, she's still one of my favourite judges. She definetely had the most empathy between herself, Simon, & Louis. I'm not surprised she wasn't always an angel, because no one is perfect. However, to my knowledge, on the whole, Sharon did her best to exercise kindness & understanding when relatively nice people were just very untalented.

All these bad auditions teach you a valuable lesson: if your family member, friend, colleague, whatever tell you that they think they can sing when they can’t, tell them the truth!!!

I couldn’t be a judge on this show. I would laugh every time I hear someone who can’t sing.

The 4 year old was amazing, and absolutely laid it out. Bright future for him.

I have just watched a couple of videos like this and I must say I'm already exhausted. I just cant imagine what these judges had to go through, listening to bad auditions like these for hours and hours, damn.

Simon changed so much now that he's in a happy relationship and now that he's a father. But I must admit, loving these bad auditions and his brutal honesty, good old days :)

Crazy part is that back then the judges thought it was a joke to try and use tech to bring back John Lennons voice for new content and just today news came out that AI would be bringing back his voice for a last Beatles record. How times change

For 20+ yrs I have agreed with every statement Simon has made. He's honest, professional, and experienced in his expert opinion. Anyone should be greatfull for his time and undevided attention. If you can't handle criticism from best in the business, your not ready to handle showbiz.

I’m so mad at 19 year old Sarah’s mom. To say a single momentary “no” in a 19 year olds life is someone “throwing her life away”!!!! WTF is wrong with her? Even if she could sing ( which let’s face it she can’t) but even if she was good she would hear many many no”s and this is not how you build your children’s character up. I’m just pissed. Stop encouraging something she NOT good at and help her find something that makes her spark in life instead!!!

This is why people should be honest. It’s okay to be bad at something and if you feed into the delusion that someone who’s bad at something is good at it then they’ll just become disappointed and humiliated when others tell them the truth. All of these people were failed by friends and family who weren’t honest. It’s not loving to lie to someone and let them live in that lie. You’re setting them up for failure.

They put Simon down and say he "is the most untalented man in television", yet if he said yes to them, they would be saying, "He is a man with a vision and he knows what he talking about because he is so smart and we respect him."

That Sarah one was pretty nuts. If a singing career really is “everything” to you, you shouldn’t break down so completely after one failed audition. If it’s everything, give it your all. Practice hard and keep auditioning elsewhere. If it still doesn’t work out, you can be proud of yourself for trying and get a regular job like 99.9% of people. This is what her crazy mother should be explaining to her, rather than enabling her. Also, if she’s that fragile, stardom would surely break her if she ever made it.

Omg the little boy was so freaking adorable ! I loved how he didn’t understand anything the judges were saying until they said he won, stole my heart!!😂😂

I love how Sharon stood up to Louis when he was so nasty to that 16 year old girl. She was right, it was so awkward seeing him trying to be a second Simon.

A 4 Year old, won the entire X Factor without even going through the rest of it! What a legend!

Simon is great. He actually tells them they cannot sing and cannot make it in this industry. And he is almost always right ! All of us need a friend like Simon who tells you things as it is. 😁

It amazes me that some of these people imagine themselves cutting a record, or standing on a stage, filling stadiums with fans who pay to see them perform.

Oh I feel for Sarah but at least the judges were respectful and honest, they didn’t tease or antagonize her. They saw how bad she was hurt and didn’t prey on it. Sometimes people need to be knocked down but at least they recognized her passion and didn’t bully her when she couldn’t pull it off.

Sometimes I feel genuinely bad for these people. I’m sure they got over it, but it must be humiliating to go through the entire process just to be a cheap joke in the end

I love how Nicolas thought he was going to get through by giving the judges a ton of compliments, especially Sharon. Then when he didn’t make it through, he has a totally contradictory tone/ words in the pod and send to be really angry! It’s gold!! 🤣

I must be the worst person in the world, because I have experienced so much joy watching these deluded people putting it all out there for the world to see.

Thank you so SO much for doing this. I was 12, obsessed with show and had some of these auditions on DVD. I haven't seen some of these in yearrrrs. What a nostalgia hit! I'm 31 and still remember these word for word, wow! Thank you!
