Wolverine's still alive but his adamantium was brutally ripped off his bones..also, from how things have played out in this episode..It became the origin of another big bad.. Magneto throwing his helmet onto Xavier is foreshadowing who it is.. if it goes in that direction.. Season 2 is gonna be wild
Morph was in episode 1 season 1 of the 92 series when he was killed… later revealed kidnapped by Sinister. The episode was about 30 minutes long so Rogue was absolutely correct. They threw him to the wolves.
Wolverine has never experienced trauma like this, vastly worse even than when the adamantium was put in. His healing factor has never been pushed to this level. However, the consequences of this moment are going to be way worse than logan losing his metal. Xavier is about to do something crazy, and the impact of that is going to be off the chart.
Magneto can probably control the iron in his blood and "save himself", Jean will probably become the phoenix, Cable has Psi powers on par with Professor X and Jean, but he uses his powers to keep the virus from spreading, WOLVERINE"S adamantium is X-Men #25 "Fatal Attraction" early 90's i think.
It's written in the comics that the healing factor in Wolverine was slowed because of adamantium poisoning. His healing factor worked faster with the adamantium removed
The Magneto side of this episode was adapted from Uncanny X-Men #304 and X-Men (Vol. 2) #25. Most likely, the next episode will adapt at least in part Wolverine (Vol. 2) #75. Magneto could, in theory, heal himself faster by redirecting the iron in his blood.
I recommend the 2004 launch of “Astonishing X-Men”. Cyclops and Emma Frost lead a team of mutants that include Wolverine, Kitty Pryde, Beast, and a recently resurrected Colossus. The team is trying to figure out who is responsible for the “mutant cure”.
Magneto ripped the adamantium metal out of Wolverine's body, man. Thats X-Men issue #25 Fatal Attractions. We will now see boneclaw Wolverine. In the comics, Logan briefly went back into his animalistic nature after losing the adamantium when he went to the Canadian wilderness. The adamantium metal was actually slowly poisoning his body thereby slowing his healing ability. Without it, his regenerative healing power became faster. He got back the adamantium when he became a horseman of Apocalypse. In Age of Apocalypse, Gambit also becomes one of Apocalypse four horsemen. As for season 2 of Xmen 97, they could either go with the Age of Apocalypse storyline or with the ONSLAUGHT storyline when Professor X's extreme grief combined with a dying Magneto's rage that created an unimaginably powerful entity called Onslaught.

You can definitely say this is one of the greatest animated seasons of any show. If season 2 is anything close to this, they will definitely be in the legends category.
@@LavaLot-zi5us I watch Invincible and enjoy it thoroughly. However, I said “one of the greatest” not the greatest. That implies that multiple shows are in that category. Those shows could be in that category. In my opinion calling something the greatest is far too subjective which is why I said one of the greatest.
The Avengers are probably dealing with all the villains that's been released because of the EMP...When the president was talking with Xavier, he told him that if the X-men fails to deal with Magneto. He would have no choice but to activate the Magneto Protocol. It's something that the United Nations has on stand by. just in case Magneto does something like this..The president didn't exactly say what the Magneto Protocol was but I imagine it's some kind of extreme counter measure that will take Magneto out
That yellow energy you saw coming from Cable wasn't the Phoenix Force. It was Nathan telecinetic powers. Like Jean and Madelyne, he has Telepathy and Telecinetic powers, but a lot stronger. Normally, he need all his telecinetic powers to keep the techno-organic virus at bay for taking over his body.

Wolverine's bones are COATED with adamantium. Magento just ripped that coating off, the bones are still there. It is a lot of damage all at once, but Logan can recover
Spoliers ahead: Wolverine is not dead. Neither is Magneto. The writers of this remarkable animated series are doing their take on the iconic storyline "Fatal Attractions" where Magneto shut down Earth's magnetic field and it took Professor X, Jean Grey, Wolverine, and a select few other X-Men to take him down. In the end, Magneto ripped out Logan's adamantium from his skeleton that enraged Professor X so much that he used his telepathy to shut down Magnus's mind, rendering him a human vegetable with no thoughts. The lasting consequences of this actions led to the psionic powerhouse mutant known as Onslaught. He will appear next season or Season 3. He is essentially the combined rage, resentment, guilt, and power of Professor X and Magneto incubating within the mind of Charles Xavier. Personal predictions for the Season One Finale: 1. The rage of Professor X will be unleashed and cause Magneto's helmet to come off Xavier's head, in which time, he will shut down Magnus's mind to the horror of everyone looking. This act will not only bring about the eventual rise of Onslaught, but it will splinter the X-Men to their very core. Expect Cyclops to finally leave the X-Men and start his own stike force. 2. The combined power of Jean Grey and Madelyn Prior will bring about the second coming of The Phoenix with both Jean and her clone merging into what I will call Prime Jean Grey. As Phoenix, she and Storm will have to be the ones to heal the Earth's magnetic field. 3. Bastion and his Prime Sentinels will be defeated with Bastion either sacrificing himself in the process or going into hiding. 4. Rogue will stay behind to look after a vegetative Magnus alongside Sunspot vowing that she will never forgive Professor X for what he did to Magnus. 5. With Cyclops leaving the X-Men, he will take Phoenix, Cable, and Beast with him to form this universe version of X-Force. He will be rockin' his Black with Red highlights costume. 6. Logan will be in a coma while healing from his abrupt loss of adamantium. Once he wakes up, he will become more feral. Do not sleep on bone clawed Wolverine. He's on a whole other level. Great predictions. hopefully we see Apocalypse in season 2 or 3 with Gambit as a horseman or maybe Wolverine getting his Adamantium back as a horseman.
Thanks for adding the spoiler for the people that didn't read that part of the comics.. I still have all of the comics from the Onslaught Saga, and his identity wasn't revealed to us until much later on.. you just felt his presence, like when he threw Juggernaut from Canada to New Jersey. Readers had no idea who would be powerful enough to do that to Juggernaut but the only hint you got was a weakened Juggernaut saying "Onslaught"... Since the writer is obviously a fan of the comics.. I imagine on the show, he's also gonna be teasing Onslaught little by little until the big reveal
Is this in the convo for best animated comic adaptation? I’d say so, but I’ll reserve my own judgement for after season two. I do think that this is absolutely the best first season. Literally just banger after banger with increasing quality.
I like the passion yall have, keep up the RU-vid grind it'll pay off you both have the right kinda personality for these kinda videos. Long-time comic reader, I'd recommend reading stories like Weapon X, Old Man Logan, Fatal Attractions, Jonathan Hickman's X-Men run, God Loves Man Kills, etc. For the bigger stories that span a lot of issues, look into getting an Omnibus!

Psyclops vs onslaught as cable and sinister destroy bastion. Psyclops is jeans consciousness and mental abilities taking refuge in Scott’s mind after cable destroys her body. Onslaught is of course magnetos mind with Charles abilities. Oh and magnetos abilities magnify Charles. Established in the season five finale. Psyclops Jean saves Wolverine. Do they preserve his consciousness inside Scott’s head too.
Great reaction gentlemen!! What a show this is! "MARVEL is dead!!" Yeah, sure they are! More like MARVEL is on fire and we are headed to SECRET WARS! One observation... the human being Doctor Doom (in Ep 8 seen as appalled by Bastian's genocide of Genosha), ruler of Latveria and GOAT of supervillains, especially annoys both Magneto and Xavier for various reasons. In many ways, Xavier and Magneto are better persons than Doom, who is a despot and the most dangerous man in Marvel Comics, having done some of the darkest deeds imaginable even though he, nevertheless, does have the heart of a lion. Why? There are several reasons for this. Magnus' powers over the electromagnetic spectrum cannot be used directly on Doom (Mags can INDIRECTLY hurl magnetic objects at Doom, but can't affect his armor directly) whose sorcery and technology both render Magneto's powers useless and Magneto knows that Doom is more powerful than he is despite all his talk of "homo superiors." And Xavier knows that, despite being the world's most powerful telepath, he cannot control Doom's awesome willpower, not even with Cerebro enhancing his abilities. And Doom's genius created a machine that outdoes Cerebro, granting Doom all the abilities of Xavier and more besides! Doom can beat Charles Xavier, Jean Grey, Emma Frost, Onslaught, and Zebediah Kilgrave "the Purple Man" by sheer willpower alone without assistance from magic or technology. All these things bother Magneto and Professor X about Doom. But the main reason they are troubled by him, besides the fact that he, a homo sapien sapiens, OBVIOUSLY CONTRADICTS their oversimplified paradigm of "homo sapiens superior," is that Doom calls out their hypocrisy. Specifically? Their penchant for wanting to dominate all others seen repeatedly in X-MEN '97. There is so much to admire about Xavier and Magneto. But both are far from perfect. On more than one occasion, Xavier feels the need to override the minds and willpower of others to "get his way" accomplished. Admittedly, Xavier dislikes having to resort to coercive and invasive behavior akin to rape (think about it), and when he does resort to this action, the situation usually is extreme and on the precipice of disastrous catastrophe (as in the episode above). Doom has, on several occasions, called out Xavier for this. Doom has committed the act himself, even ruling the world one time with the Avengers set up as his police force (See EMPEROR DOOM STARRING THE AVENGERS). But Doctor Doom eventually found this way of "saving the world" to be distasteful, and so abandoned it. Watch what happens in Episdeo 9 of X-MEN '97. Wolverine (who, let's face it, Magneto doesn't really consider to be a true Homo Superior, but instead an animal--in fact they can't stand each other) manages to pull the helmet off of Magnus' head thereby rendering him vulnerable to Xavier's powers. Xavier promptly invades Magneto's mind to "hijack" his powers and save Earth, reversing the damage to the magnetosphere. Then, prevented by Summers, Xavier loses control. Now watch carefully how Magneto responds: Like so often we've seen in X-MEN '97, Magneto restrains not only his enemies, but also his friends (Rogue and Sunspot!!). We see him do likewise on Genosha (to save Rogue and Gambit both). But this time we see the revelation of more of Magneto's wounded character: it is to control, ABSOLUTELY CONTROL, the entire field of battle. The only player he does not restrain in metal? Wolverine -- because he thinks Logan is a pathetic, beaten animal, beneath him. See? Next, Magneto hurls the helmet at Wolverine's feet onto Xavier's head for a poetic execution. Not only does it muffle Xavier's powers, but now it will be the executioner's device to murder the professor by crushing his skull and brains. And Magneto's justification? By trying to MIND-CONTROL Magneto, Xavier has become "A traitor to his race" unworthy to live. See this is the hypocrisy that Doctor Doom calls Xavier and Magneto out for. Magneto hates being controlled. Who can blame him? Look at how he's suffered! So wounded and devastated by anxiety and having no control over suffering countless injustices, he seeks to control everything. How many times have wee seen Magneto bind and silence characters this season with his magnetism. Xavier doing so? That's unacceptable to Mags... WHO DOES THE SAME THING!! Doom, the ultimate control-freak likewise traumatized by injustices from his past, can see this clearly in Xavier and Magneto. So he cries, hypocrite. Anyway, just some thoughts.
My opinion, when I watched the episode, was that Magneto didn't want the Xmen to fight each other. He always respected them, but by that time he had been their leader. If he had wanted to, he'd have crushed Xavier's skull in a second (he did that to an enemy in a modern storyline). And Xavier's actions seemed to seem to Magneto betrayal not because he tried to control Magneto's mind, but because he cared more about humans. And Xavier did more or less the same in the original series, and Magnus never called him a traitor for that. From a writer's point of view, this episode as episode 9 makes no sense, so it's difficult to understand the characters' actions and logic. But it appeals to fans of the comics.
@@mariahbell2302 Thank you! I totally get your sense of incongruities. But for me it does make sense but only in the sense of the traumatized. Yeah, of course, it's a cool and iconic moment from the comics -- "FATAL ATTRACTION" and the conception of Onslaught. But I do think it is more than that. You make a good point about how Magneto (helmeted) could have killed Xavier numerous times (before and during this series). He muzzles Xavier at one point with his powers and jokes, "shut up." But when Xavier steps over the line and threatens to coerce Magneto into slavish obedience, all ghosts of their friendship are banished to hell irretrievably. Magneto goes for the kill and says that line about betraying the Mutant race. It's their moral posturing that Doom, despite all his villainy, rightly calls out. Both Xavier and Mags posture themselves as savior- or teacher figures, and to their credit, they HAVE done awesome good! But the posturing and "by any means necessary!" limit they go to all the while acting as moral superiors can be problematic. The problem with the most powerful mutants is they really believe that BS about how superior they are. Nah, while genetically gifted, they are still HUMAN with all the foibles and messiness. The disgusting prejudice from genocidally racist humans (Gyrich, Trask, and now Bastian) seeking to kill the mutants is to treat them as inhuman monsters, both subhuman and alien-like "other-than-human" threats. Xavier and Magneto would do better in their fight against that lie by not turning it around 180 degrees in a Master-race schema. Just a thought.
@@BibleAlivePresentations I haven't read any of the Xmen comics (other than a little from a modern storyline) or anything about dr Doom who I've seen as a vilain in stories about the Avengers, so I don't know anything about his powers or opinions. One thing that amazes me about the comics is that the creators can do literally anything to the characters. Kill, bring back to life, change the whole personality, depower/underpower for the sake of the plot they came up with. I see how fans of the comics react, and I understand why, but I cannot share the feeling. And I totally agree that mutants are humans and make the same stupid things. It's one of the problem of the Xmen world - only Mastermold realized they were all humans! Xavier used to be able to control Magneto's mind even when he was wearing his helmet, so either he made a new one that really protected him or they retconned that. I'm not sure of what he did back then (tried to make Magneto obedient, or change his mind, or just calm down). But there's a funny thing: when they were in the Savage Lands, Magneto told Xavier that his life would become easier should Magneto die. Yet it would work vice versa, and he didn't seem to ever think of that. Instead, he risked his life to save Xavier. I hope they will more or less explain thing in episode 10. I'm still not clear even about who Tri-Sentinel called Omega level threat.
I think if they do a live action magneto isn’t Hollywood white. He’s londo calrisian as a Jedi pushed to be independent. Not a sith but definitely ain’t trying too hard to hear the Jedi orders.
This show is way blacker than wakanda. The actors just happen to be mostly white. I hope they stay black in the live action. Fine with white actors but the themes and sensibility are ours. Oh and can we please get a storm that’s taller and darker than Wolverine.
How is there a 2nd season of XMen 97 when there no XMen after season 1? No wolverine is alive but he’s down. Magneto is alive. Storm is alive. Jean should be alive.
