Episode Summary:
The first, best, and least appreciated line of defense earth has against alien invaders is, of course, private eyes on the take. When a client walks into the dingy detective agency office of Mr. Broderick to find the martians the first thing he asks himself is “Can they afford my daily rate, plus expenses?” The second thing he think is “I bet I can raise both.” Unfortunately for Mr. Broderick, and by extension all earthlings, he neglected to really think though what the appropriate course of action should be if he finds the martians.

Program Summary:
Countdown for blastoff X-minus five….four….three…two…X-Minus One, fire!
X-Minus One is the unofficial sequel to the science fiction radio show Dimension X. Dimension X left the air in 1951, in 1955 X-Minus One started and lasted until 1958. At first X-Minus One did old Dimension X stories, but then they branched out with their own science fiction tales. If you love the Golden Age of Science Fiction, this is a show for you. Many of the stories came from Galaxy Magazine, featuring such authors as Robert Bloch, Ray Bradbury, Robert Heinlein, Isaac Asimov, Robert Silverberg, Poul Anderson, Theodore Sturgeon, and many more. While the stories were science fiction, many had a humorous tone. Including “Tunnel under the World” about a public relations incident gone horribly, horribly wrong. The show coming near the end of the age of old time radio, was able to attract some of the best talent in the field and really bring together great stories and outstanding professionals to bring the stories to life.
