Just get FSX through Steam for around $20.00, but I think there have been sales down to $6.00 USD. But I'm starting to think X-Plane is a Winner after having been a fan of FSX, and purchased Steam Version last year !

@@BuggSmasher do you get scripted missions like fsx? I played the apple run, the intercept and the rino missions in fsx and had fun with em. Does x plane 11 provide similar missions? Also how many planes do you get in the standard version of x plane 11?

Maybe you would be able to compare and review various payware vs freeware scenery packages, see if it's worth the dough, with comparison to the default. Must get expensive to cover the whole world in decent scenery but I need the real buildings and landmarks

Apparently if you hit the "press to inflate" auto pilot button all your prayers will be answered. But in this time of equal opportunity one can only imagine what you'll get ! And you'll have to sit next to it during the remainder of the flight! A bit like life really.

So the left menu with tow, etc... is part of a paid addon? There's no way to have that in default? Damn; and I already picked it up! 2 Videos claimed all vanilla with that but I couldn't find it anywhere.

Thank you sir. I generally wouldn't advise gaming on a Macbook or laptop of any kind, particularly anything as taxing as a flight sim. Try the free trial, see what it plays like, but allow for the full version being much more taxing.

Thank you sir! You can use a keyboard, but as a start I'd advise getting a cheap stick, even a Logitech 3D or something like that will vastly enhance your experience over keyboard. Of the civilian sims out there at the moment I think XP11 is still the best. If you're interested in military sims you can try DCS for free.

And when Mr. Martin asked "are you a student" I thought you were going to make a joke about how P3D isn't allowed for "entertainment purposes" as indicated on their website. Otherwise you captured so many nuances in your anecdote it was very well put together. Was it freestyle or scripted?

Thank you sir. Yes, flight simming requires very up to date and near top of the range hardware. XP11 can still be made look and feel great without anything beyond the initial outlay on software, but you need the hardware to run it.
