I had a question from Wayne recently who asked how he should route his IEM if they only have 1/4" inputs (and not XLR). This video is a quick look at how to make this happen.

Someone in our volunteer team accidentally erased all the eq presets in the m32 console. Do I need to reset the firmware of the console to restore the presets? If I do, will I loose all the scenes, snippets and other settings? What is the best way to fix this?

Thank you for your videos, I have a question Can I used a Behringer S16 stagebox with a YAMAHA TF3 Digital Mixer thru a DANTE NY64-D expansion Card output port in the back of the console.? Or S16 ONLY WORKS WITH BEHRINGER X32?. Thank you for your help
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse Год назад
This is a great question and I do not have an answer for you. The S16 runs across AES50 protocol and I’m not sure what the Yamaha will see when you do those connections.

Thanks so much for the informative content as always. We've just got the x32 compact and the s16 snake. I want to route the outputs such that we can use 6, 7 and 8 on the compact as L, R and M. That way I can save all 8 outputs on the snake for monitors. How do I go about routing this? All inputs are routed from the snake.
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse Год назад
The easiest way to make this happen is to go to Routing > Output and map your monitors to Outputs 1-8, then set 9-13 as OFF and finally 14-16 as your L, R, M. Once this is complete you can go to Routing > XLR and and set Output 1-8 to map with Out 9-16. Finally, go to Routing > AES50 and make sure AES50a 1-8 is set to Out 1-8. If you need help and want to work together directly, you can fill out the contact card on my website and we can start a conversation outside of RU-vid. sound.AllamHouse.com

Hi, thank you for the video. Just have 1 question can I do my own mix on aux. Or is it just for xlr outputs?
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse Год назад
You can do everything separately meaning you can build a mix (main, MixBUS, or Matrix) and then send that mix out the XLR, the AUX Out, the USB Card, or up to a stage box across AES50.
@jamieoshima
@jamieoshima Год назад
Hey thanks for the video! Does the track panning not effect the linked mix bus? Does panning only effect the Main L/R outs?
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse Год назад
Panning an input towards L or R will impact the Main mix and will be followed (by default) into any linked MixBUS pairs. You can make different panning choices for your MixBUS pairs by selecting the channel, going to Home > Sends tab and then use the encoder knobs to deselect "follow LR Pan" and then make specific panning choices for that MixBUS pair.

Hi Allen, thanks for the great video!! One question, let’s say I’ve set bus 1 going into the physical output 1, which is set for IEM 1 for the singer on stage. Is there any possible way that I can use the headphone out on the x32 to listen to Bus 1 so that I can check what the singer is listening to?? You know, sometimes, singers might not know what they want exactly or even don’t know what instruments they are listening to…
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 10 месяцев назад
Yep, all you need to do is go to the BUS 1 and push the SOLO button. This will send the signal to your headphones on the console for you to listen to. You can use the headphone volume knob to adjust the overall volume for your headphones.

Is it possible to setup a stereo IEM using a single AUX and a single XLR cable? if it is, how yould you approach it? Thanks
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse Год назад
It is possible to do this, but maybe not the most recommended. I am assuming you are running your monitor on a stereo MixBUS pair. By default, the MixBUS are mapped to XLR outputs so that gives you half of the monitor mix right away. You can check this by going to Routing > OUT and finding what output your MixBUS is mapped to. You can also confirm it is setup as Post Fader so the Bus fader will work the overall volume of the mix going out of the board. NEXT, go to Routing > AUX, select a AUX output to use and then confirm the source is your other monitor MixBUS. Again, confirm the tap point is set to Post Fader. This will give you both sides of your stereo mix leaving the console with one on XLR and the other on the 1/4" (or RCA) output of the console. This video might be helpful to you as it is an overview of the Routing screen and the tabs included within. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PpeqRuPGi2Y.html

Still confuse on how to route one input channel as the click track to the outputs 1-6 into the mix busses 1-6 for IEM's and not hit or go to the mains out speakers and only go to the IEM mix busses, so they only hear the click track mixed with the other channel inputs main mix settings due to being mono to the IEM's??? beginner still learning to mix for church on X32 Compact.... Have not found any tutorials covering this yet.

Using the BUS options for building monitor mixes is a very common setup. This video covers these general concepts and I do discuss adding Click and how you have to remove it from going to the Stereo LR BUS which feeds your house mix. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zwYcNieISF4.html

@@AllamHouse I watched this 3 times and did not see anything relating to adding Click and how you have to remove it from going to the Stereo LR BUS which feeds your house mix. I don't think I missed anything??????
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse Год назад
The process to remove from the Stereo LR Bus is to find your Click channel, push the select button, then find the Stereo LR Bus button just to the left of the screen and push it. If it is orange, the signal is going to the mains (Stereo LR Bus) and if it is grey it is not. You want it to be grey so the signal is fully usable on the console, t is not going to your main house mix.

Thank you for the video. We have the same mixer. We have an issu with the earmonitore app. Some time the app change the volume in the room. How can I solve this problem ⁉️ than you
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse Год назад
When you run IEMs you want to make sure your Bus sends for your monitors are set to Pre Fader. This will make sure that changes made to your house mix do NOT impact your monitors.

@AllamHouse

This sounds like you have the BUS set to go into the mains (Stereo LR Bus). Go to the BUS, Hit Select, find the button next to the screen that says "Stereo LR BUS" and push it so it is NOT orange.

Hey brother question for you. What if I have my p1s plugged into my SD8 I have my mix bus being fed into ultranet 9 and 10. I can hear my drums but I can’t seem to get my other instruments.
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 9 месяцев назад
I'm assuming you are running a stereo MixBUS that feeds two outputs that are connected to your P1 via XLR cables coming out of your SD8. You would want to route the MixBUS pair directly to the XLR output and not use the Ultranet features. The Ultranet only works if you have the P16 boxes that are little miniature mixers. In the end you will want to make sure you are building the desired mix on the console by selecting the MixBUS, hitting Sends on Fader and then adding all the instruments you want to hear. If you need one-on-one help to get up and running quick, let me know and we can start a conversation outside of RU-vid.

Hi I want to use the dca’s for more in ear channels out puts can this be done on a Midas 32?
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse Год назад
Unfortunately, no. The DCA (Digital Controlled Amplifier) is just a remote control and cannot be converted to a group or MixBUS setup. You can convert the FX BUS sends into regular BUSes, but not the DCAs.

Hi sir! Can i use a single trs cable in aux to have a stereo output?
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse Год назад
All of the outputs on the X32 are mono outputs (except for the stereo headphone jack). If you want to have a stereo output you will need to use two outputs (either AUX, RCA, or XLR). Since you commented on a video about IEM's I assume you are interested in setting up stereo IEM's. Keep in mind this will require two BUSes linked together to create a stereo output and then you will route those BUSes to a pair of outputs. You can then connect those two outputs into your IEM.

Now ai understand. While this video discusses a mix for livestream using different cables than what you will need, it is still a MixBUS which is what you would use for your IEMs. You will use the strategy for routing your MixBUS out the AUX outs on the console to send the signal to your Sennhesier units. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xGt1z5I7blQ.html
