Imho the biggest gem of this game is the ability to Teleport. Opens so many opportunities to mix gameplay styles. You can peacefully explore a distant sector and admire the view, but within seconds hop into battle or hack the turrets on some station on the other side of the map. No less important, if you're not good at flying small ships or don't have a joystick, just pilot something big which can easily be pointed with a mouse, and your turrets will do the rest. Great game, love it.

Id like to see more random videos with Bernd and or the team. I enjoy the narration and behind the scenes stories

For years I have been searching for something like this. Thankfully found X4 a year ago and I am having blast since then.

Super underrated game. If they could make the learning curve a bit easier somehow and introduce more quality of life features, I could see more people get into it. Regardless, it's an amazing game that is worth the effort. Keep up the great work, Egosoft. Thank you for making such a unique and amazing game.

My favorite experience from the last few days was when I took a contract for a woman that missed her ride from a station. She thanked me, got onboard, and both she and her contract vanished. I think she's still back there in my ship somewhere. When egosoft comes out with crew quarters for smaller ships, I'm going to go to them and she'll be there, watching the holos and eating my leftovers from last night.

Amazing music and game

My love for the space genre started with Escape Velocity (Ambrosia) back in the 90's. X4 encapsulates everything I loved about that game back in the day (Trading / Pirating / Boarding / Escorts) that I've been pining for since. The learning curve is indeed steep, but the depth is just so satisfying.

I've been with the X series since BTF.. And even played Ugh on the Amiga growing up :D No other space game does what X4 does. I loved Elite and Freelancer back in the day, I played the heck out of Eve Online for years. But where all these games have stagnated, X has exploded. X4 is the best space/sim game since X3. Can't wait for the Boron to join the party and start a new save in the "complete" universe! :D

Thank you Egosoft for continuing this series. It's a niche genre but one of my favorites.

Fantastic trailer -- everything I love about the X series!

Just got into the X4: Foundations 11 days ago (all dlcs). Played now some 97 hours, and truly loving it. My biggest gripe is the saving and loading times, which is really breaking the experience for me. I have Win11, 5800x, rtx3080, 32Gb of 3600Mhz dual rank memory (2x16Gb), and the game is on an Nvme ssd. Loading a quicksave takes around 1 minute and 20 seconds, which in 2023 is simply unacceptable. Had to put the autosave to the longest interval so it doesn't break my flow every 20 minutes. Other than that, after building 4 stations around the sectors, claim 2 sectors to myself, getting couple hundred million credits invested into my economy, truly loving the game. The best large scale space opera we have at the moment. Can't wait for the new dlc and the update 👍🏻

Egosoft produces the product I want. However these people always exceeds my expectations. They love what they do and they dedicate passion to their projects. It's a rare trait these days. I can't describe how good this game actually is.

Hey liebes Egosoft Team, es wäre cool wenn man im Spiel mehr Story-unabhängige interessante Kontakte finden könnte oder Begleiter/spezielle Crewmember anwerben könnte, welche mit einem mitfliegen und mit einem reden. Sie könnten wenn wir an einer Sehenswürdigkeit wie einem grossem Schiff oder Ort vorbeifliegen etwas darüber erzählen wie z.B Lydia in Skyrim die oft unheimliche oder magische Orte und Wesen kommentiert oder einen nach dem Kampf lobt. Ich habe nachdem die Story vorbei ist immer das Gefühl alleine im X-Universe zu sein und dass alles auf einen Schlag viel lebloser wirkt weil man mit niemandem mehr spricht ( bis auf ein paar Zeilen von Boso und der stumpfen Crew). Ich möchte durchweg das Gefühl haben, dass das Universum lebendig ist wie während der Story Kampagne von X2. Es wäre auch cool wenn man sein eigenes Aussehen mehr anpassen könnte weil eine Cutscene aber auch schon ein Blick durch die Aussenkamera auf den Pilotensitz reicht um die Roleplay-Immersion zu brechen, wenn man den Charakter hässlich findet, er aber an den Spiel-Start geknüpft ist.

God I just love this game. I am really looking forward to the Borons. They have always been my most favourite faction in X3 because I love their aquatic design. Plus, the soundtrack in Kingdoms End is a soothing hymn for the heart. And Egosoft did a great job in recreating the new soundtrack. If I could change just one thing, its the lifestyle aspect of the X-games. The NPC AI, weak Crewbuilding, NPC design and the ship interiors dont leave much space for atmosphere. Space often feels empty of life.

Such an excellent game (series). Only the flight model lets it down. The economy is second to no other game I've played. Fleet management is superb. Highly recommended.

Having 600+ hours I must say, great work on this trailer! I particularly loved the shot/transition on 1:03 with the PHQ. Hoping for a great release of the Boron DLC. Godspeed Egosoft team!

Heck yeah!! Already have this but bought a copy for my kiddo. Can't wait to play with him one day. Maybe X6 :-) he's a little young right now for the full experience but maybe in a couple of generations of this game he'll be ready to take it on. X4 is perfect for us right now, though.

Don't listen to the losers making vague complaints with no substance to back it up. X4 is a great game and Egosoft is one of very few developers who actually make art, not just a "product that will cost this much to make and sell this many copies".

I love this series. Wish I could play X4, but it requires a better machine than my economy build. I would say to Egosoft, _"You don't have to build big environments filled with lots of asteroids to make a good game"_ just go back to X-Beyond and remember what made you successful from the start, create and continue to optimize and improve, a game that can welcome larger audiences. And keep your games family friendly, with at the least, "options" settings to disable adult themes such as in-game posters, and suggestive dancing cantina girls. What I liked most about your games, is the _"Egosoft would like to thank you for buying our product!"._

I don't know why I just watched this. I'm just torturing myself waiting for Kingdom End to drop. Egosoft should be proud of what they've done with X4, the games have been amazing at their core since XBTF but X4 has been such a strong push into usability while keeping and even developing on the depth. It took a while, but it's so good at this point.

I picked it up recently, the learning curve is really steep but this is a very impressive game.

My biggest gripe with the game is the lackluster interiors. Id almost prefer not having them at all instead what we are given. Being trapped on the bridge of my massive ship and only being able to teleport to a few copy/paste rooms is just very underwhelming. Im a 3d artist myself so having a sense of scale and layout of ships is super important to me and x4 falls very flat in that area.

Steal, definitely steal. Preferably with a massive freighter in a high speed fly-by of one of them juicy Terran capital ships. Profittttts!

I returned to X4 the other day and IMO it's in good shape. I just disagree about npcs, - not needed, wrong decision. But maybe some gamers get immersion from them, so...

Wonder what x5 will give us? Dynamic generation galaxy, first person shooter/farming and build stations on land...? We dont mind if those gonna up to 300gb it totally worth it with those features.

Recent beta updates have shown us a better look. Now I look forward to adding a twirling command around the target for gunships who are forced to play dogfight while locked on. 😊🎉

Wow I just saw this on Sale on Steam today. This is literally what I have been looking for. I got burned-out on Elite Dangerouse after a 7 months playing and when I learned that nothing actually really changes. Star Citizen is too expensive and definitely not finished and probably will never be finished
