XDefiant: A Game Changer in the FPS Space... (1 Month Critical Review) 

Hey all, as mentioned in the last few videos, I’ve been away this past week on my honeymoon with my wife so this review doesn’t account for the most recent update but (not having the ability to check my notes currently) I believe the overall sentiment remains the same. Let me know what you think of the game this far and have a great day / night :)

I'm 55 with old man thumbs and reflexes of a sloth I'm having a blast playing xdefiant and even though getting 20kills and 20 deaths is for me popping off i still look forward to getting on and playing after work

I'd have to give it 7.5 to and 8 outa 10 right now. Base game feels really good, the transparency from the devs is great, and now we wait for more content to drop.

Xdefiant has become a hundred times more fun with team deathmatch. I love that so much

Dedsec's Hijack is very situational but so satisfying to pull off when you use it on an enemy shield, mine, or spider bot

I think the best part about this game is whether you love it or hate it, it’s healthy competition which makes its rival games (Cod especially) better.

I'm loving the game, I love that they added TDM.

Ded sec is super helpful when up againtst a team of phantoms in control for example ., emp grenades on restock and hi jack can really upset them holding choke points . You save the ultra for the later objectives when there are 2 or 3 phantoms using there ultra . Very underated as a disruption factionthats what they are literally there to do disrupt always good to have at least one player running ded sec.

Kangaroo Shooting Simulator. Anyway my most played FPS game right now! It’s just so good and hopefully never ever think about going back to cod.

Furries are def looking forward to the rabbids season.

for me personally I need a higher sens threshold, even with maxed out 100-100 and 2.00 acceleration multiplier I still feel like I can’t match the higher sensitivity’s from cod (I use KF precision rings btw)

Can you do a video on your loadouts with attachment that you have made to your guns in Xdefiant

It feels light on modes, maps, progression, factions, but with support it'll get better & better, looking forward to seeing it expand like R6 siege

I’m loving the game so far, averaging 52 kills per game and feels like old school cod. Cant wait for the prestige system to be added.

I’ve been loving it. F2P is huge cuz I enjoy playing on console and pc so having cross progression has been awesome

For me my biggest issue is bulky movement and lack of mountable/climbable places. This was the same issue I had with the older COD games, where something that you should be able to climb on is not climbable

I really enjoy it my only gripe is it takes a while to kill someone sometimes but then feel like I die pretty fast, .my ping and Internet is good though

I’m really enjoying the game but I have to say I have to sweat like hell each match to maintain a positive K/D. Way more than I have to in COD. I hope I get better at the game but it gets a bit tedious to play.

I love this game. It’s the only multiplayer game I’ve played regularly in 5 years.

Get rid of the rotating store and just have a whole list, so people can choose what they want.

8.5/10 just need more to grind for and can't wait for ranked. Currently lvl 55 and done with battle pass. One complaint is throwing me in losing matches and some more tweaks to hit reg would be nice.

A solid 7/10 now but is only the start of the journey.

for escort pushing deadsec has won me multiple games where you use ult on last puch while team use abilities and the enemy cant

I’m decent at halo and cod and have been playing since the early 2000s glory days of Xbox Live however, I’m TERRIBLE at X Defiant to the point of where I don’t even enjoy the game. I was so excited for this game to.

I don’t play it often but every time i do i know I’m having way more fun than i ever would on COD to me its a lot better than COD and its still got so much potential to improve

The p90 stock is soooo solid better than the mp7 its sickk. Also you can feel the difference in your game when you get new guns.

As a M&K player, I LOVE xdefiant. This game is amazing on m&k, way better than CoD

dedsec hijack is my go to if the enemy team has at least 3 things that I can hack. being able to print landmines means you can place 2 at a time and as a sniper is awesome especially in escort you can literally just keep placing them on the path lmao. I couldn't think of a more annoying faction and I didn't even mention canceling ultimates

Here’s my review: Maps: 8/10 (Mayday is a little one sided on domination and Emporium is not for me) Gunplay/Visuals: 9/10 I have a bias for smooth animations/gunplay in MW3 but xdefiant is really well designed. Recoil not hard to control, kills are satisfying. Graphics are solid and the game is optimized well. Game modes: 9/10 (fuck escort) Camos: 7/10 Need more camos! (Not the 300+ that MW3 has just a few solid ones) Communication between the devs and Mark are amazing! Other: need more things to do, net code is iffy, 1 year delay sucked, want pings, deadsec a little annoying (spiderbot), nothing super game breaking (the game is still super fun)

I disagree with the faction bit. I do agree that dedsec are kinda weak other than the stupid spiderbot, but the rest? Not so much. Phantoms seem to be the most powerful right now, but Cleaners are awesome with some of the guns, Libertads provide a lot of sustain and Echelon is good on close range maps

I feel that faction abilities are a bit too spammy. Would be nice to see a slightly longer cooldown. Other than that, solid game

I feel like there is an insane honey moon phase going on right now. Hit reg is a pretty huge deal in an FPS. I played around 5 matches & it felt like a really cheap COD. Bullets hitting the enemy does not have a great impact. Movement feels stiff. Having a COD like game that continues to grow past one year could be cool but this game still feels like it needs a lot of work. There are aspects that are hard to put your finger on that make a game super sticky & this game lacks them.

I’m glad my boy actually plays the game and not bunny hopping around in the gameplay in the background. That be the worst part of the game. Shoutout to express 🙏🏽

For the most part I'm enjoying this game and more than CoD. But I think they need to fix the hit registry. Because I will lay half a mag into someone and they'll turn around and kill me in 5 shots while I'm still hit them with rounds. I give the game a 6 out of 10 but it could be a 7 or 8 with some work.

I kind of hope they penalize jump shots. I think shooting in air should cause a lot more recoil. That was something i always hated about modern cod, and i was hoping theyd penalize it more here.

It is kind of funny with the factions! Echelon is the faction I have played with the least by far. And Deadsec, is alomst double the time of any other faction. Yeah the "wallhack" are nice, but they have a very limited range, and are spaced out, even less than a second after your ping ran out, someone can be in your face that wasn't pinged! I quickly found that I got over reliant on them, and forgot to play smart because I assumed I would know where everyone was. It is to me the most overrated ability in the game (that doesn't mean it is bad, just that people make it out to be a lot better than it is). The invisibility.... it's nice enough. It was great for weapon unlock challenges to get point blank and hipfire kills. I find it more gimmick than usefull, though I guess it could be good for getting flanks on teams that otherwise lock you down pretty good. And because I myself is so bad at looking at minimap, and because this ability to not go on it exist, alongside a lot of attachments to keep players off, I don't find that passive to be as usefull as it might sound. For deadsec. I always been a heavy grenade user, and good at it. Its a utilty MANY overlook and forget, and only use rarely, where I like to use it heavy to give me that advantage, so not having to save on them as much, really is nice. The spiderbot is a lethal target seeking stun grenade. it gives me a lot of kills. it saves me when someone has flanked around us, it tells me what to way to run. it gives free kills, even when I don't follow it. And on top of that - and I know how many will think I am a pure scumbag, but just the mental thing of how mad it makes people, and how demoralizing it is. People get mad, and start making even more mistakes. If the other team use a lot of shields, or have many spider users, I might switch to the hack ability. It is kind of the most useless ability in the game, but having a spider turn around and jump on the guy following it for a free kill is even better than sending out your own spider. And the ultra! Well I love ruining peoples fun when they finally get goggles, and they are just shut down instantly. Or for more objective play where they get the bubble shield, and doing a hail mary sure they will win now, and I just cancel it so we can clear the spot and keep them away. Cleaners are good. for some weapons to end people, for firebomb, and even the drone. The ultra is kind of hit and miss, and hard to really do anything good with consistently. Phantoms are more tanky, the shields is great in a lot of objective gamemodes. ultra often good for a last push in objective modes, specially on the linear maps. Healers... Not bad either. both ability have good and bad things. the ultra is really good, but I sometime forget it doesn't make me invincible, and it is over very fast.

7/10 so far

Honestly my least favorite mode might be TDM in this game, Cleaners are everywhere

I forgot this game came out. If only it hadn't been a sweat pit of only pro players competing, then I'd keep playing more than 1 day.

It’s hard to have fun when every game the enemy team has the wall hacks and can you your every movement all game. They really really need to fix the damn intel suit. It should not be a s powerful as the super.

Playing solo for me is a terrible experience. My team suck balls and the oposite team bunch of sweatlords. Netcode still is a problem

They need a mode with no abilities... echelon and phantom is super over used. Would like to see if the people using them would get half the kills and score if they didn't have that crutch

I love the shit out of this game, but none of my COD buddies will play with me :( they find the game too hard. Wish I had ppl to play with

Good video games run on passion, things need to come together organically and with care. But every bit of successful media, it's soul is lost with every success. It's extremely sad so see, but with growth comes shareholders and a constant emotionless consuming need to set the bar higher. The success of a developer is seen as a an asset to sell rather than an asset to grow. I had hopes for Microsoft to be a financial powerhouse to explore potential, but more and more I'm seeing a power grab for less competition.

Im level 130 thats how much i love this game already ! I use to be a warzone sweat 😂 Im enjoying the xdef experience tonnes more than cod , no stress just fun games . Great gunplay , fluid movement and most importantly the transparency of the devs and the changes they make almost instantly! . O the firing range is levels above cods basic crap . Great place to fine tune your arsenal .

I think it’s a change from call of duty otherwise it’s just an OK game

Micro transactions are definitely on higher price side, they should lower it by 30-40% for the masses to buy.

I have fun with x defiant but I’d still rather play the older cods. I don’t like the Ubisoft game engine I’ve always found it clunky and terrible and this game just happens to be on my least favorite game engine

Problem with this game from my experience is players can only use 3/4 guns those being ACR,TAC50,AK and MP7 it’s boring as hell there’s just no enjoyable gameplay to be had

Movement, gunplay, gun sounds, sound design, map design and character design are all generic and uninspired. Animations are to choppy and need waaaay more transitions / smooothing.

But xdefiant sucks. I would play ANY shooter over this game.

its gonna be dead in 3 years at most. its trying to copy so much from dirty bomb, even the yellow mantlepoints, but it fails completely to be a objective based shooter. its worse than dirty bomb in that regard. and dirty bomb failed, so this is just gonna be hype a while as you can make vids gunning down noobs and then it will be a small community and then die.
